Guest Reviews
- Maria (10/5): Peaceful relaxing comfortable stay. - The location was very rural and so peaceful.
Loved seeing chickens horses sheep and cows.
Plus rabbits and squirrels.
The bed was really comfy which is very important for a great night's sleep. Having to leave!!!
- Paul (10/5): - Private
The location and setting lovely to sit and watch the chickens and horses etc The bed could have a king-size quilt as it is a king-size bed
Some of the cookware needs replacing
These are minor issues but did not affect our stay as we would return

Helpful owner Nothing !!
- Laura (10/5): Perfect stay - A beautiful comfy lodge in a tranquil setting - comfy beds, Maxine is friendly as are the animals, outdoor space is fab and it's very private. There was nothing not to like. The only thing we would have preferred was walking distance to pub and shop. But we knew this before we booked so it's not a negative. You can walk to Kirkby Malzeard but we couldn't figure out the route.
- Marc (9/5): -

- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - This lodge was beautiful and clean. Very light and airy. Has everything you need for a brilliant stay. Maxine and her husband were absolutely amazing with their local knowledge and looking after us and our children. She honestly couldn’t do enough for you. Our little ones loved the chickens and horses and of course the beautiful dogs. Gorgeous location on a night when it’s dark and you can see the stars very clear in the sky. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you both Could not fault any part of the property. We had an amazing holiday. A home from home.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderfully isolated & quiet in a beautiful location

- Kirsty (9/5): Superb -
- Graeme (10/5): Cute and cosy Lodge with beautiful walks - The property was very quiet and is situated perfectly.
Ideal for relaxing getaways and quiet, scenic walks. Would recommend a walk to Greygarth monument for the spectacular views.
Hosts were great, very welcoming and friendly. The shortbread on arrival to the room was very thoughtful Perhaps a clearer sign at the property entrance to confirm Blackberry Lodge
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice stay, the property is in a peaceful countryside location. Nice host who was very welcoming. Would definitely stay again.
- Leigh (10/5): Fabulous stay in a tranquil location! - Lovely quiet location on a small farm. Maxine was lovely, friendly and helpful and we could have not asked for more. Nice to wake up and see the chickens and horses too!
- Janet (8/5): Very good - Excellent - just what we were looking for.
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional - What a perfect little place! As soon as we arrived we felt at home, there was milk in the fridge and eggs on the table which was such a lovely thing to do. Maxine is a very nice genuine person, I felt like I'd known her years! The lodge had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. A perfect location for walks, the views are stunning. Our children loved all the animals and exploring the huge garden! There is a trampoline and a swing at the bottom of the garden that our children loved to play on in their spare time. Such a fantastic, beautiful, well kept place and we will definitely be coming again! Thank you Maxine for having us and our Labrador!
- Anna (10/5): Absolutely lovely, we would come again for longer, especially now we know how to find it. - Beautiful quiet place, lots of animals for my daughter to talk to. Everything you could need in the cottage with lots of little extras, beds were really comfy and the shower was much better than expected. The hosts were really friendly too.
Lots of walks from the doorstep which we would have done if we'd been staying for longer. It could have been easier to find, the hosts sent a message that afternoon but we didn't get it as it went to spam and the Booking.com app did not have any helpful information. The address given was for a different road than map apps showed the house was on and didn't give the name of the farm and the property name could have been clearer on the gate post. Turns out we'd already driven past it but thought we were in the wrong place. It might be useful to use What3Words.com to give guests precise coordinates. All this information should have been sent by booking.com in the confirmation of booking email. We were told to go to the Booking.com app for more detailed information (which I then had to download in the middle of the countryside with not much internet) and then it had no more information than the incorrect address and incorrect map pin which we already had.
- Cowell (10/5): Perfect 👌 😃❤️ - Loved this place. Peaceful and gorgeous surroundings. Loved the animals especially the chickens 🐔 ❤️. Maxine is a great lady. Hope to see you soon! Look after the chickens for me 🤣 N/A the place and host were great.
- Yathrakaran (10/5): Very nice and peaceful place - Very nice and clean. The host was very friendly and helpful Perhaps the way should have been clearly stated boosted. We had some difficulty in locating the house as the navigator took us to a parallel road. But the host/owner was very helpful when called and she came driving to show us the way
- Ian (10/5): The perfect retreat if you're looking for bucolic charm. - The location was just what I wanted. Peaceful, beautiful countryside I wouldn't change anything.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Total relaxation in a truly beautiful area of Yorkshire. - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Blackberry Lodge was super clean, very comfortable and oh so peaceful and relaxing. Maxine and her husband were very friendly and gave us lots of ideas for places to visit. The gift of fresh eggs and milk was most welcome. Thank you for a charming stay. Nothing

- Steve (10/5): Little slice of Yorkshire heaven - What a wonderful find this place was. We just wanted somewhere to chill out but still located well for places of interest. Blackberry Lodge ticked both boxes very well. Maxine was very welcoming, with plenty of local information on places to eat and places to visit. It really was an excellent holiday and we feel totally refreshed. Thank you.
- Andrew (10/5): very nice and relaxing would go back and stay again - I liked location, comfortable bed, wood balcony etc everything in general was very good , Jenny the whippet and the toast maxine who celebrated her 209TH birthday when I was there ( yes 209 ) haha farmers live longer. nothing I can think of
- Francis (10/5): Great place for a relaxing break. - Tranquil location. Lovely walking in the area. Everything we needed for a short, relaxing mid-week break away.
- Key (10/5): Wonderful stay on the edge of the farm in a fantastic lodge with a great host. - We loved our weekend break at Blackberry Lodge.
The fenced garden/paddock was excellent for 9 month old Springador. The lodge is fully equipped with everything you need. The parking was great and the lodge is private with great views over the fields.
Maxine is a fantastic host with good communication when needed. Nothing. We loved the place.
- Richard (10/5): A gem of accommodation - My wife and I stayed at blackberry lodge for 2 nights. The accommodation was lovely, with everything we needed including an iron/ironing board and hairdryer. Everything you would need in the kitchen with a fridge freezer cooker and microwave.
The accommodation was lovely and bright and the host Maxine was so friendly and helpful and we even got to feed the lambs.
We will definitely be booking to go back. It was so relaxing looking out on the farm with the horses and chickens.
You won’t regret booking. Nothing everything’s was lovely. Wish we had stayed longer.

- Nick (10/5): Beautiful rural location, plenty of walking routes to explore! - Rural location on a lovely working farm, loved seeing the lambs being so playful!
Great little lodge, equipped with lots of essentials & great little porch for muddy boots!
