• Adi (8/5): זוג שלוש לילות: 18-21/04/2026 - - הבעלים מקסים!! בצ׳ק אין הוא הסביר לנו על כל הדברים שבדירה עצמה ומעבר לכך שלח לנו מספרים וקישורים בגוגל מפות לכל מה שצריך באזור (סופרים, כביסה, מסעדות, מוניות וכדומה). בנוסף, הוא היה זמין לנו בכל שעה וענה לנו בווצאפ בזריזות. הוא גם הציע לנו שידליק לנו את המזגן מראש אם נבקש כדי שנחזור מיום טיול לדירה מחוממת. אין ספק שהוא מדהים ועלה מעל כל ציפייה שהייתה לנו. - בזמננו הייתה תקלת מים אזורית שבקושי היו מים (הבעלים דאג שעדיין יהיו לנו מים מינימליים לשימוש) ולאחריה לא יכולנו להתקלח עם מים חמים יותר מעשר דקות.

• Natthapong (10/5): Excellent host - I stayed with Pablo for 4 nights before spending 2 weeks hiking in El Chaltén. I would say the place is just next to the bus terminal that I take to the hiking capital. The place is clean, comfortable, and well organized, and Paolo keeps checking if I need anything, which means he cares for his guests. Also, the place is not far from the city, so it is easy to walk. I highly recommend it to everyone.

The units were a good size for an overnight stay. Proximity to the bus stop was a big advantage as well. Nothing stands out. The unit was adequately equipped for a short stay and very clean and tidy.

Host personally checked us in and out and gave good recommendations. We kept both heaters on and were warm enough. Comfortable bed. Nice to have a safe, bidet and desk area. Worked for a two night stay, but kitchenette has only one induction burner, best for simple cooking. WiFi was slow, not good for remote work.

• FM (8/5): A quite simple place away from a noisy downtown. - The four cabanas are minutes away by foot from the bus station. They are inside a boarded compound. The area is quiet at night which makes a big difference from other places downtown. Nearby there is a good supermarket but if you need more provisions you better to walk down the hill and go to the larger super on main street. The road down is a bit steep but absolutely doable, probably 15 minutes one way. Pablo, the proud owner, awaits for your arrival to hand you the keys and show the property. He also provides a list of recommended restaurants and tour companies. The interior is a no frill place with a small living area with a table and a kitchenette. The small master bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed. The other guest room has two single beds. For me it would be good for two kids, not four adults. The price for five night was very acceptable, the listing for one night is quite high. The Kitchenette is not really set up for cooking meals. One hot plate and minimal pots & pans. The bedroom window is boarded shut, so no light comes in.

• Oliver (10/5): Professional Tour Leader in Patagonia since 1994 - I arrived at these cabins following a recommendation from a fellow guide, and I am writing this review from El Calafate airport. In my thirty years of experience travelling across the region, these cabins are an exceptional choice where the cleanliness is impeccable and the maintenance is genuine, not just cosmetic. I received a room upgrade without even asking; a generous gesture from the owners that demonstrates how well they look after travellers when there is availability. Regarding payment, the process was transparent and secure, complying with identity protocols, which provides great peace of mind in today's digital environment. The Wi-Fi connection surprised me with its stability; having stayed here about two years ago, I noticed a significant improvement that is a distinct advantage rarely found in the region, even in higher-end hotels. On the day of my arrival, I turned up two hours before check-in and I want to thank Pablo, who went out of his way to have everything ready so I could rest early. That day, wind gusts exceeded 100 km/h, and I must highlight the professionalism shown when explaining the safety protocols. The window-locking system is a detail that those of us familiar with the Patagonian climate truly appreciate for thermal efficiency and safety, a standard also used by major hotels in southern Chile. The beds are very comfortable with pristine linen, and the location is a definite 10: being just one block from the coach station makes all logistics effortless, while the 15-minute walk to the centre avoids the commercial noise, ensuring a proper night's sleep. The value for money is excellent. The location in the upper part of town means the walk back from the high street involves an incline; if you are not particularly fit or are carrying heavy bags, a taxi is the best option (the cost is minimal, around 3 or 4 dollars). Furthermore, the strict wind safety protocol is absolutely necessary: at ground level the air often seems still, but a few metres up the wind retains all its energy and opening a window can shatter the glass due to pressure differences. That the establishment prioritises safety is a reassuring factor. As a local expert, I recommend trusting this local criteria completely, as well as Pablo's excellent advice on dining and getting around. I recommend it 100% and will be returning next year.

As we like to sleep without window blinds it was very dark and we had to use the air/con (what we also don‘t like)

Tiene caloventor en cada habitación. Y también tb y juegos de mesa. Es para ir idealmente en coche o tener en cuenta que está a unas cuantas calles (algunas de tierra) hasta llegar al centro.

• HANNA MULLER (10/5): SOY GUIA ALEMANA HACE 25 AÑOS EN PATAGONIA / I HAVE BEEN A GERMAN GUIDE IN PATAGONIA FOR 25 YEARS - Es un 10 DE 10 indiscutible. Hospedarse aquí es entender el valor de un emprendimiento familiar en la Patagonia. Después de 2 meses recorriendo Sudamérica, este fue el único alojamiento con un check-in personalizado y humano. Pablo es un anfitrión excepcional: un día antes de la llegada ya está en contacto por WhatsApp. Sus recomendaciones genuinas sobre restaurantes, supermercados, lavanderías y agencias me permitieron ahorrar un 30% de mi presupuesto en comidas (puedo probarlo). La cabaña es un refugio de paz con una limpieza impecable y camas diseñadas para el descanso tras el trekking. La calefacción esta muy bien y la cabaña esta preparada para los fuertes vientos que hay en la zona (durante mi estadía el viento superó los 80km por hora), ideal para el clima de la Patagonia. La ubicación es estratégica: a solo 1 cuadra de la Terminal de Ómnibus (clave para los traslados al Glaciar Perito Moreno) y a 10 minutos de una caminata tranquila al centro comercial. A diferencia de alojarse en pleno centro, aquí el silencio es absoluto y se duerme perfectamente. Es un lugar moderno, seguro y con alma patagónica. He leído algunas pocas reseñas muy injustas e imprecisas . Estos "malos comentarios" mencionan la distancia al centro como algo negativo, pero la realidad es que son 10 o 15 minutos de paseo agradable; alojarse más cerca significa sacrificar el sueño por el ruido. Otros declaran que hay "plásticos" en almohadas y eso es impreciso (casi un engaño) porque los "plásticos" solo están en las camas de niños. Es una verdad que las camas de niños tienen protectores pero si eres adulto no duermes en esa cama por lo cual esas "criticas" son invalidas y me animo a expresar que son casi un engaño y que no tienen lógica ni sentido en la realidad. Personalmente veo que hay turistas que copian y pegan criticas que otros escribieron. Estas Cabañas no son un hotel de cadena con botones ni lujos pretenciosos, es un emprendimiento familiar de alta calidad. Si necesitas honestidad, seguridad y limpieza, este es el lugar que estas buscando.

He also sent me a list of contacts for food, travel agents and transport in El Calafate. The place is less than 300 meters from the Bus Terminal. The apartment was clean and the kitchen had everything I needed. There were also USB charging points. I would recommend this place to other travellers. During check-in, he also provided suggestions of local supermarkets, activities, and restaurants. And was available for any questions I had. The accommodation is right next to the bus station, which was practical as I needed to take the Bus to my next destination.

Hostitel je velmi milí a podá Vám nespočet důležitých informací, které usnadní Váš pobyt a návštěvu El Calafate. Domeček je prostorný a velmi dobře udržovaný. Domečky se nachází trošku dál od centra a tak je nutné vždy popojít. Samotná čtvrť nenabízí úplně moc vyžití, ale vše je dostupné pěšky.

It also seemed to be a massive issue that I didn't have access to WhatsApp even though it's not clear from the booking that it's required. Plastic coatings were on some of the pillows and mattresses, which seemed a little crazy. Was glad we only stayed one night as felt uncomfortable.

Would prefer different pillows, otherwise all was great.
• Batubara (7/5): - It was close to the terminal station. Bed wasn’t very comfortable as the pillow was covered with plastic. I understand it must be for hygienic reason but it didn’t feel comfortable. There was only one stove which made it hard to cook.

• KAI LING (9/5): - We love the hospitality and support the host offered. It helped us a lot in getting around the neighborhood. The place is very close to the bus terminal, which is very good for our trip. We would recommend others to consider choosing this place for their stay.

• Amnon (10/5): - הדירה נוחה, נקייה ומאובזרת היטב. קיבלנו יחס אישי ויוצא דופן מהמארח שלנו פבלו. הוא יודע אנגלית היטב, קיבל את פנינו כשהגענו, ומסר מידע חשוב על אפשרויות הטיול באזור, מסעדות מומלצות וכל מה שביקשנו. הכל נאמר בשיחה, וגם נשלח לנו בווטסאפ. הוא בפירוש היה המארח הכי משקיע ואינפורמטיבי בכל הטיול שלנו. אני ממליץ בחום על דירת האירוח הזו.

• Ana Rita (9/5): - La tranquillité du lieu et l'accueil de Pablo! Les cabanes se trouvent tout prêt de l'arrêt de bus ce qui facilite l'accès pour se rendre au perito Moreno si vous n'êtes pas véhiculés.
• Michela (9/5): - Le propriétaire est extrêmement gentil et nous a donné beaucoup de recommandations. La cabane est propre dans un quartier calme mais proche de toutes les commodités. La cuisine manque peut-être de quelques équipements pour cuisiner. Mais c'est un moindre mal.
• Sandra (1/5): Bonitas por fuera, decepcionantes por dentro - No lo recomiendo en absoluto. Por fuera las cabañas parecen acogedoras, pero por dentro son una cueva. Frío insoportable (la calefacción no era suficiente), limpieza cuestionable y ventanas traslúcidas sin vistas al exterior, además de prohibición de abrirlas por alerta de viento. Nos sentiamos encerrados. Aunque después de leer comentarios de otros huéspedes, parece que dice lo mismo a todos, así que vayas cuando vayas, olvídate de abrir las ventanas, te pondra la misma excusa. En el check-out pedimos salir 15 minutos más tarde de lo acordado, a las 08:45 (el check-out maximo era a las 10:00 asi que teniamos tiempo de sobra), pero, aun habiendo avisado, el dueño solo vino 5 minutos más tarde y se quedó esperando en la puerta con malas formas a que le entregaramos las llaves. Por ultimo, cama incómoda y plastificada. El baño lleno de humedades (normal, no ventila nunca) y sucio. En cuanto a la ubicación, tampoco lo recomiendo, muy alejado del pueblo (a unos 35 min caminando).

• Carolyn (8/5): A very fine place, good for the price for what you get - Very clean, as described, very close to bus station and 20 minute walk from town. The owner was very present (sat down and went over rules for check in, met us for check out, texted daily). He said we got a discount for a cash price and wanted us to pay in cash on arrival — double checked with booking and it said this NO where. All documents said OK to pay with card. I was very surprised. Also there is no oil or salt for cooking. There are very limited towels. Felt a little sterile. Beds not that comfortable with plastic on the pillows. This is a fine place to stay! Very good for the price. Just not amazing.
