Guest Reviews
- Lily (7/5): It was okay - The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The breakfast was great with eggs, fruit, toast and jam. Coca tea available as well. You do not get key access to the building, you have to ring the buzzer every time you arrive, and sometimes it takes 10 minutes for a staff member to open the door.
They would not let us hang out in the lobby after check out even though we had to wait until 10PM for our overnight bus. They did not let us check out late either, or store our bags as they wanted to “close” for the day. There were no other guests there.
Translation was difficult and the staff members were not helpful or polite.
The wifi worked only some times.
Uyuni is not a place I would recommend staying. The town is basically a slum with nothing to do except the salt flats. Just come here for a 2 day tour from La Paz. Do not stay here.
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (7/5): Good - The room is spacious. We were able to do an early check in and that helped us since it was a long night bus ride from La Paz to Uyuni. Breakfast was okay, but lacking of creamer or milk for the coffee. You always need to ring the bell to go in and tell somebody if you want to go out. Our room was knocked several times for different purposes, like housekeeping, breakfast hour, and info for their lunch break, which this could be done one time for all.
We explained that on the check out day, we were going so early so we wouldn't need breakfast on that day, therefore would like to have a breakfast on the check in day instead. They said no to this bcs we were promised fruits to go on our check out day. But, that didn't happen!
- Jennifer (8/5): Spacious room & comfy room - + Spacious room & bathroom
+ Comfy bed
+ Basic breakfast included (eggs, bread, fruit, juice, coffee & tea; as I checked out very early I got a banana & an apple) - Warm water didn’t work
- No hairdryer
- Qianxi (1/5): very very bad experience, don't recommend it at all. - Staff was always available to unlock and open the door no matter how late it was. Booked room with private bathroom and ended up with public bathroom. The public bathroom was most time locked due to water supply issues.
The staff was not very friendly and hard to communicate with.
- Aleksandra (8/5): Comfortable and nice place in Uyuni - The place was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating - I got my booking upgraded and got a room with a private bathroom at no extra cost. The breakfast provided was nice too. The residents do not get a key to the property and need a member of staff to enter as well as exit the property. At times, it took a while before being able to exit the building.
- Shumukong (6/5): Pleasant -
- Stefanie (9/5): Great privat room and Bathroom, clean and comfy - Really nice room with privat bathroom. The bed was extra comfortable and it had many blankets to keep you warm. Really nice stuff and nice breakfast.
- Katie (9/5): Excellent value for money and peaceful stay - The breakfast was very tasty and abundant. The room was very comfortable and it was very quiet! Excellent value for money! Having to be let in and out every time.
- Treva (8/5): Very good -
- Ella (6/5): Paid more than I got - The single room was nice, bathroom fresh. They only take cash and when I checked in they didn't have change, the woman said I was going to get it later but I never got my change back, so I paid more than I should have.
They lock the front door from the inside and you need to find a staff with a key to get out of the hostel, two times I had to walk around different floors of the hostel to find the staff to let me out.
On my second morning I had to leave very early and I asked the day before if I could have some fruit as breakfast to take with me. The woman said I could have 2 fruits and said that I was going to get it in the morning from another woman. I don't think they had communicated with each other cause I had to wake the other woman and she reluctantly gave me one small banana and clearly stated that "only 1". I had paid for breakfast both days.
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Adam (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfortable hotel at a very good price. Good sized rooms, big comfy bed, decent shower. Staff are nice and helpful. Great free breakfast Location isn't the best
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Faith (8/5): Nice stay - Nice location, closer to the centre which is very small :). Fresh eggs for breakfast, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. Staff are very kind. They close the front door with a key so I had to ask them to open the door each time.
- Abache (4/5): No heating, no hot water - The room size I had to beg for them to switch on the heating - which it didn't work anyway - despite the room having been advertised as having heating. It was minus 10 degrees. The shower wouldn't warm up either.
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional - This hostel is awesome. They have a central heating system with radiators in the room that are hot from 6pm until 10pm and from 6am until mid-morning. The bed was super comfortable with thick blankets. The combination of these two things made it a lot more cosy and warm.
The staff are super friendly, kind and helpful. The hotel is very close to the centre of town. My stay included breakfast, with tasty local fresh bread, jam, and scrambled eggs. I was very pleased to stay here and strongly recommend it. The WiFi is also good throughout the property, and I was able to stream HD video.
- Francesco (8/5): Good value - Comfortable for what i needed, just one night. Good breakfast
- Kirill (9/5): Superb -
- Giuliana (8/5): Very good - The room were really confortable.
And the hostel is clean. The breakfast is good. The door is always locked... even if you just want to go out to smoke a cigarette you need to run after someone to open to you. Because they locked tohr door without the key on it.
If you have to do laundry don't go to the neighborhood (the women recommend by the host) because she don't give you back all your clothes .... (we are still missing some tee-shirt and socks....)
- St (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing, except the crew. The whole crew was super nice, but they have to do everything at once . Cleaning and also reception, nightwatch and also breakfast...saving money, I guess The main door is locked all the time, and you have to find the one poor person who is cleaning somewhere to open it. 10 times a day, if you are a smoker and have to go down 2 floors everytime to smoke outside in the street .the shower was cold or not working at all. Just one shower / toilet for 8 double rooms?! They take the cleaning so serious that they even stop you and let you wait in the staircase because they are not ready with cleaning....also the lamp was broken the Internet weak and because of the echoes you could hear everyone speaking even two floors away....
- Tímea (9/5): Superb - They let us to check in in the early morning, which was a really big help for us, thank you!
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. -
- Яворская (8/5): Very good -
- Jasmin (8/5): Very good -
- Kandis (9/5): Perfect for a stop over in Uyuni - They allowed me to check in early They always kept the door locked which was frustrating because you had to wait for someone to answer
- Dayna (10/5): Great place in sucre - The room was very big and the place was very nice. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was good It was a little walk from the centre but still a good location
- Vix (4/5): Disappointed - The property allowed us to check in early which was really nice. At around 3am-8am there was small party below us. I think the staff were involved too. They were so loud and inconsiderate. They woke us up they were throwing things around, spinning bottles, moving furniture. Speaking so loudly in Spanish and screaming at the top of their lungs I went down to tell them to be quiet but they didn’t care. Then my boyfriend went down. Wasn’t ideal when my boyfriend was ill. Overall wasn’t impressed and the hostel did nothing and didn’t even apologise in the morning.
- Marc (8/5): Very good - Clean place, good value for money, i got upgraded to a room with a private bathroom, nice owners Owners were partying and screaming at 4 am so i couldn't sleep. They promised me a breakfast that i never had.
- Gonçalo (10/5): Great breakfast, honest people and free upgrade - The owner gave me a room upgrade for a room with private bathroom, thank you soo much! Those are the kind of gestures that don’t cost anything to the owner but it will earn in a good 10! Not only that but the room is good and clean and the breakfast very good and complete with eggs, butter, jam, 2 breads, coffee and tea. Staff is always friendly too
- Rom⍺n (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice place to stay. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. Shower with hot water and a good stream. The owner is kind and helpful, he even let my friends who weren't staying to have a shower and store their backpacks until the evening bus. Also I was leaving early in the morning and he offered himself that he would drive me to the bus terminal. What a legend! Everything was perfect.
