Joan was an exceptional host from start to finish — warm, welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. The house itself was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect for exploring Cong, Ashford Castle, Connemara, and the surrounding west coast. Waking up to the quiet countryside each morning was such a treat. What really made the stay special was Joan’s hospitality. Nothing felt too much trouble. It’s rare to find a place that feels both professionally run and genuinely homely at the same time.

• Jurian (10/5): This was a wonderful place to land for a couple of nights! - Good location close to town (Cong), but located in lovely sheep farm country. Comfortable, clean, great breakfast, welcoming hostess (Joan and her daughter were very kind), affordable. Breakfast room was lovely. The quintessential Irish Bed and Breakfast experience. Cong is a fun way to spend a day (Ashford Castle, little walks available, the Abbey). Also just an hour or two to Connemara, the Burren, and there’s oodles of beautiful countryside around. I really enjoyed my visit to Knockma Woods, 30 mins away. It was all great!

Joan was so welcoming, the room was really clean and spacious, loads of hot water and a power shower and lots of extras, tea & coffee making facilities in the room and a hairdryer. The breakfast was top class. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, and a selection of cereal, endless tea, as well as bacon, eggs, and toast. I really enjoyed the chats with Joan as well. I would highly recommend this B&B. Nothing

• Jürg (10/5): Gehobener Komfort in völliger Ruhe - Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig. Wir wohnten im Obergeschoss und hatten quasi eine ganze Wohnung für uns mit Miniküche (Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle, Wasserkocher und Toaster), Wohn- und Essbereich. Joan und ihre Tochter sind sehr aufmerksame Gastgeberinnen. Mit dem Auto gut und schnell zu erreichen sind Cong und Clonbur, wo es diverse sehr gute Restaurants gibt. Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt. Die Wohnung hat nur Dachfenster, was bei uns mit zwei Tagen sehr heissem Wetter leicht saunamässig war. Und dann, als der Regen kam, mussten wir sie wieder schliessen, damit kein Wasser eindringen konnte. Doch da können natürlich die Gastgeberinnen nichts dafür.

• Emma (10/5): Fabulous place to stay! - What an absolute gem of a B&B! The homely accommodation was immaculately decorated with large airy rooms and ensuite facilities. The breakfast was amazing (cereals, fruit, yogurt and a fry up), and Joan not only gave us a warm welcome but lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. This is a small B&B with only a few rooms which really makes it something rather special, and I can't recommend this place highly enough! That we didn't stay longer!!

• Thomas (10/5): Beyond compare - the kindest people with the most beautiful, impeccable home — and simply beautiful grounds – think Vers - I have been fortunate to have traveled the world - to well over 30 countries. I have lodged in hostels and budget travel in my college years, to five star hotels as an adult. Joan and her family at Ballnamona House run a top flight, exceptionally clean, warm and very welcoming inn with superb and delicious breakfast and perfect attention and service. I can’t recommend them enough! It is absolutely one of the most comfortable and accommodating inns in which I have had the pleasure of staying. If you find yourself in the West of Ireland, you MUST stay here! Five stars!!! N/A

• Cindy (5/5): - Lovely location and spacious room with a great view. The shower is incredible...great water pressure. The internet signal is very weak, we had to rely on our data. The breakfast options were limited and eggs were not fresh (powdered) served with 2 pieces of bacon. You were only allowed fruit if you opted for the yogurt breakfast---not both. Most B&Bs offer a variety of options without limitations and you have fruit, yogurt, and a hot meal. You were allowed cereal before your hot breakfast. The host offered us homemade yogurt which was great, but a very small portion without fruit. Another odd encounter, the orange juice pitcher was placed at our table and swiftly taken away before we even finished our meal because they "needed it." I did not even get an opportunity to have some. The entire operation felt cheap and the goal was not hospitality but to save money. My favorite thing about staying at Bed and Breakfasts are the generosity of our hosts. This felt like we were being nickle and dimed. There are no rules for late check-ins and noise. We had a rough first night with noisy tourists chatting loudly in the hallway, slamming doors, banging and being very inconsiderate. It was almost 11 PM and very disruptive to our sleep. The same individuals felt comfortable face-timing someone at breakfast loudly. I am not sure why this was permissible, but clearly the comfort of other guests were not accounted for. Also, there is a landline somewhere in the house and it would not stop ringing. The rooms are spacious, but there are no water jugs or glasses provided. Oddly enough, we were not provided hand soap either. I am not sure if this a regular occurrence or an oversight. It felt like we were staying at someone's home, not a professional establishment. The vacuum sat in the main lobby overnight. It felt like someone's home.

• Brigitta (10/5): Wonderful stay in Bellnamona House - Bellnamona is a Beautiful House with a fantastic vieuw overlooking the countryside. The sheep’s behind the fence became our friends. The room was large and comfortable. Joan is a wonderful host, we enjoyed chatting with her and getting informations about the area. The breakfast was excellent with a large choice, fresh fruit, cereals, eggs etc. We did not leave the table hungry. We can recommend Bellnamona House and would stay there again without a second thought. Thank you Joan and family Irene and sister Brigitta Nothing to complain about

Auch die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sind ruhig. Das Haus liegt etwas abseits, aber mit dem Auto ist das kein Problem. Pubs gibt es im nächsten Dorf, welches lediglich 10 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt ist. Alles toll.

The shower was lovely, hot, with high pressure. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The landlord gave me a lift to a nearby town which was above and beyond. I would have liked a jug of water in my room. I’m sure if I’d asked the landlady would have obliged but I didn’t realise until later in the night.
