Guest Reviews
- Dr. Adam Z. Seet (1/5): - The place is comfortable enough. I made sure before arriving that my room had good workable WiFi as I work online. But it was terrible. Night manager refused to put me in a room closer to the router. I had to leave 2330H to look for alternative accommodation.

A Localização boa. Apesar que falta de sinalização do Hostel mandou map. Um caminho só para praça de arma O sistema de interfone do portão, pudia melhorar Muito alto a noite e de manhã, me acordava.
- Lucho (8/5): -
- Hamid Haybi (10/5): - Everything was so cool and treated so well Just note. There's no sign on a door.

- Edith (8/5): I like the place - I like the place breakfast
- Noé (5/5): Passable -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gyula (9/5): all in all it is recommended, I would go again, but do not expect much: the breakfast is nothing. - bath room with hangers - thank you! room is clean and nice, locker is usefull. breakfast is nothing; piece of bread with a very little piece of jam (not even enough for a bite of bread)
- Parissa (8/5): Great location, calm and friendly - Very chill location with great location. It’s 5minutes from the San Pedro market, which is super central and very vibrant. Otherwise, The beds were comfy, the staff helpful, the view nice and it had a kitchen one could use. The pillows need an upgrade. And because my room was right next to reception, it was pretty noisy throughout the night but that’s just a reminder to take earplugs. The coffee needs… flavor. Nothing big though.
- Eugene (7/5): Good -
- Jay (9/5): Superb -
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional - -Very friendly staff
-Possible to storage my luggage
-Comfortable beds
-Location -The water in the evenings was cold
- Nicola (2/5): Very poor - No hot water
- Nicola (2/5): Very poor - They allow you to drop your bag free of charge for a day or two in a deposit They charged me with more commissions than stated on booking.com plus they used an unofficial exchange rate with the dollar.
There's no hot nor warm water altogether, after a long trip all day and walking under the rain I couldn't even relax by having a hot shower
Internet is slow
- Akanksha (1/5): Bad - I had a very bad and unfortunate experience with this hostel. I arrived in the morning of 10/02/2025 in Cusco and I messaged the hostel that I will be arriving early. My booking was for 2 nights (10/02/2025 to 12/02/2025). On 10/02/2025, after checking in, I went out and when I came back at night I realised that someone else was on my bed. The reception has given my bed to someone else. I was still okay about it as they made me another bed in the same dorm. It was late and I didn't want to create any fuss. In the morning, when I went to pay I was told that I need to check-in again. I didn't understand why I would need to do that as I already had 2 nights booking. Then the staff told me the room I am in is already booked so the only thing that they can do for me is to give me a bed in another room on the third floor. I was very tired and I was checking out the next day anyway as I had my flight then. This felt very unfair towards me and also the hostel seemed very disorganised and incompetent. They had already moved me once in the night as my bed was given to someone else and then in the morning they wanted me to move again. As a backpacker,, leaving the next day and having to pack and repack bags and move to the third floor seems too much. But more importantly this is no way to treat someone and have them move when you have already given them accommodation and confirmed. You should not have confirmed the reservation or explained it before. I decided I don't want to live in a place where I felt disrespected and booked myself another place. I guess that's what you get for a cheap price. Also, the shower head is not well insulated electrically and my dorm mates suffered a minor electric shock touching the shower head.
I will not recommend this place at all.
- Adriene (7/5): If you’re not too fussy it’s a good place to stay. - I liked the privacy, I was in a private twin room with a shared bathroom. The price was very fair for the room. And the location is good. There is much to see within walking distance. Most of the time there is no one at the reception desk but when there was, they were friendly and helpful. There seems to be no actual “staff” at this property. Only volunteers. So there is no one overseeing or managing the cleanliness. The shared bathroom on the 2nd floor was not cleaned for 3 days. Even though I mentioned it after 2 days. When I asked why I was told there were no cleaning supplies. In the kitchen there was a bowl of rotten fruit with ants all over it for days. I pointed it out to a volunteer days ago and it was still there today. The sponge at the kitchen sink was so dirty and falling apart. I was told a volunteer had asked for a new one but it had not been provided. I went up to cook breakfast this morning (as the free breakfast is 2 pieces of bread and jam, coffee or tea) and there was no propane. And finally I have been to reception many times and no one is there. Maybe a bell would be helpful. I feel like the volunteers do the best they can, they are caring and helpful but the management is absolutely lacking.
Oh and the kitchen is on the fourth floor and there is no elevator so have to be ok with lots of stairs.
- Regina (9/5): Superb - I did not stay there overnight, but just rested a few hours. However, I would stay here longer. The hostel is simple, but it is good for the value.
Clean, soft beds, relative warm, friendly staff. Breakfast was included, but it was very simple and small. I had to go the cafe afterwards cut I was still hungry.
It would be great to have personal light, a socket, a schelf etc.
- İlkbahar (9/5): Superb -
- Giulio (6/5): Pleasant - They accept cards payment. I got electrocuted a couple of times under the shower. Hot water is not working on the second floor. Breakfast is not much. They charge extra for using the card. The place is cold.
- Alejandra (10/5): Overall great - everything is great, great location, great staff & very cozy rooms, so definitely recommendable!
- Joris (5/5): Passable -
- Ana (8/5): Very good -
- Stevanus (9/5): Superb -
- Ivanka (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and helpful hosts, big kitchen with utilities, fridge, clean bathroom with soap and toilet paper, warm water in the showers, lockers, no mosquitoes in the room and excellent location.
- Roopa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meg (8/5): Very good - Quiet great location. Wifi is very poor. Annoying having to ring the doorbell every time you arrive
- Maira (8/5): Very good - Very good
- Lara (10/5): Great Vibes - The place has the best vibe, the location is amazing, the kitchen has enough stuff for 5 people to cook at once. The staff are incredible and helpful and it's clear they love their job.
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location and helpful people! The room really nice.
- Amanda (6/5): Good value for one night but not so close to the main plaza - Room was fine! Don’t bring heavy baggage… lots of stairs 🫠 also the shower was bad, not much water came out
- Leanne (10/5): Lovely place to stay! - We have been to this hostel 3 times now. Super friendly and chilled. Great kitchen and roof top area.
Everything was a quick walk from right outside the gate.
Can totally recommend it!
- Cristian (8/5): Very good -
- Ilaria (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice hostel, good location right at the centre of Cusco, close to the main plaza and markets. Clean, hot water for shower, well equipped kitchen to cook and breakfast included. Staff is super nice and friendly and for what it offers the price is absolutely cheap! Recommended
- Josue (9/5): Superb -
- Ella (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was super good! The room was clean, also the toilet, hot water in the shower, kitchen well equipped and helpfull staff, thanks!
- Gokce (2/5): ATTENTION - location comfortable bed careless employees!! Even though we insisted that the switch of the electric water heater in the bathroom was broken, they made ridiculous suggestions. If we turn the water on low, we can take a shower! While trying to take a shower with this suggestion, I was left with ice cold water and soap in my hair! And cusco is so cold!!!!!! I walked around the hotel with a towel and continued my shower in the shared bathroom of the dorms! It was a complete disgrace! If the employees had accepted that the bathroom was broken and offered me a shared bathroom in the first place, I would not have experienced this disgrace! I also got sick for days because of it! They also tried to charge more than what was written on booking! The room is covered with glass, cold air comes in, and the curtain is torn and old and does not look like a curtain!
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Francesco (7/5): Good - Very good price Very complicated to get in. There is a door on the street always close. You need to call the hostel with your phone and wait for them to come.
Then you walk and arrive in front of the hostel. Now you need in this case to ring the bell and wait...
I asked one of the staff if he had any suggestions about Cusco and he replied "I do not know Cusco"...strange to me since he lives there.
Nobody speaks English, even a few basic words.
- Manon (5/5): Passable -
- Natalia (7/5): Good value for money, budget option with hot water and great location - Good price and really hot water!
Great location Breakfast was poor and lady were putting the bread on with her hands,
Not very clean especially linen and sheets
- Josue (10/5): Exceptional -
- Josue (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Great location. Nice staff The trains at night and the incessant dog barking.
- Hulley (7/5): Good - Room was really comfortable, and the beds were super warm. Staff were friendly and really helpful. Sometimes had trouble with the key opening the door on the street. Wifi sometimes was a bit iffy.
- Si (10/5): Exceptional - Location was amazing, the people were all super friendly and helpful. They have hot shower and Leo and Sandra does their outmost to accomodate and ensure the guests are all happy ❤️ For this price, nothing. The train station is a little near but once you get used to it the sound isnt anything of a bother.
- Gabriel (9/5): Superb -
- Jonathan (10/5): 1 night become 2 weeks - I really liked the vibe of that hostel. I booked one night on booking but ended up staying for two weeks. Special thanks to léo, Sandra, Thomas, carol-ahn, Nicole, yarely, guadaplupe, and the rest. Hostel is super clean and they have a kitchen with everything we need to cook. Beautiful view from the "rooftop" of the beautiful cusco old Town. Definitely recommand it! Nada
- Sacha (10/5): A wholesome place - Great vibe, great location and great team
- Krüger (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice staff, could stay longer bevause we were Feeling sick. Breakfast was good and kitchen was one of the best we had so far in Peru.
- Christeen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matheus (10/5): Exceptional - The owner/volunteer(I'm not sure what he was) was very friendly and helpful. I had to leave early in the morning for a trekk and he went out of his way to make sure I recieved my breakfast in the morning even though breakfast hours weren't for another 3 hours.
- Alicja (10/5): Exceptional - I like very friendly stuff here, also the room was clean (dormitory for 4 people), with enough space for stuff, calm and with lockers wchich I really appreciate.
I had a hot water in the shower it's a big plus, also the breakfast was nice, you can drink some coffee or tea and eat a bread with jam. For this price I really recommend the place! :)
- Katarzyna (1/5): Bad - Breakfast is just a bread and a little amount of jam so better cook for yourself.
Unfortunately I kept my belonging below the pillow during my stay and when the volunteer were cleaning she throw it away ... It was really important for me unfortunately and I didn't even hear sorry. It happend during my stay (not after check out)
I do not recommend this hostel !
- Bienzle (10/5): Can only recommend! - The staff is super nice, the rooms comfortable and not many people, the kitchen very clean. Truly feels like home after a while :)

- Irineos (1/5): Terrible experience - Just the location is pretty good When we arrived the first day there was no electricity thus no hot water to have a shower. Despite this, we didn't make a big deal and just waited until the evening when thankfully it was fixed. However, apart from the fact that the hot water was running out quickly, even though we were taking short showers, we were getting electrified when touching the shower tap, which is very dangerous.
After waking up the next morning, we realised the water was not running at all. We mentioned it to the receptionist and she said we could use the common bathroom, assuming the the issue was just in our room, but when she realised that there was no water in the whole hotel, she lied by saying that the water is cut in the whole city and it comes at 7 am. We later found out that this was not the case.
After returning back a day after, we asked the receptionist if they could pack us a banana for breakfast as we were going to leave early in the morning. The receptionist refused to do so, despite that we had breakfast included and the previous receptionist packed breakfast for us. The specific receptionist gave the excuse that the previous receptionist was new and didn't know that she shouldn't pack breakfast for us. We complained about it but he didn't do anything about it.
We then went to our room and we realised that they gave us a room that was not clean and there was even feces left in the toilet.
After we complained about it they gave us another room, which was not very clean either, plus there was hair on the bedsheets. For them to fix their mistake of giving us a dirty room, they brought us a packed breakfast with a few pieces of bread and jam in a bag, without even a spoon for spreading the jam on the bread.
Lastly, the next day we asked for shampoo because they only gave us enough for one day (3 sachets) but they didn't have enough to give us for the second day and they only gave us two sachets.

- Rodrigo (3/5): Poor - When you let volunteers take care of your space, it's just a disaster. The owner is amazing, but the new administrator, the female, is horrible(volunteer). No English. It's a shame with such a beautiful place.
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - The place was great. Stuff were at all times super helpful and friendly. Really happy with this place and the family feeling they create The door that accesses the street where the hostel is located has not bell or anything so you just have to wait until someone opens the door or, if you are able to make calls, call the hostel for them to open.
- Joel (9/5): Nice and cozy place. - Nice and clean room that has a huge closet to put your stuff in, which is a very big plus. Too many hostels have too little space to store your things away from the floor. Customer service was adequate, and included breakfast fair especially for the price. The shower on our floor didn’t have hot water due to electrical problems, and they didn’t fix it over a few days.
- Isabelle (5/5): Great for saving money but not a nice place to spend time - This place is really cheap! Great value if you’re looking to save You get what you pay for! While the rooms are sizable, they’re cold and sparse and the floors were kind of dirty. This is not somewhere you’d want to hang out or decompress and there isn’t much of a good social area. The day we arrived our bathroom had leaked all over the floor so that I got my socks all wet when I went in. The tap initially didn’t work. When I tried to take it up with reception to change rooms, they told me it wasn’t possible it was dirty because it had just been cleaned. We had to go back and forth several times where I explained that cleanliness wasn’t the problem, flooding was, until finally we went to the room and he mopped it up for us.
Also, check in was difficult. The alley it’s on is behind a locked door and there are no instructions to get in that door - you just have to wait for someone to come by that needs through and has a key.
- Reneta (8/5): It was nice to be a guest in this hostel. - There was coffee and tea and tourists needed it. The location of the hostel was nice. I spent one night in a private room and two nights in a shared room. The bed was comfortable. I liked very much the terrace which is a smoking area. There was a perfect view of the Andes.
The hostel was very clean. The breakfast was poor. There wasn`t hot water in the bathroom
- Huapaya (10/5): Unique and funny moments - I loved my time in Pachamam Hostel, good service, good enviroment, good location and over all, good quality people. The best stuff. I will definitely return.
- Phillip (9/5): Superb - Lovely staff, great facilities and great location
- Kibeom (2/5): Very poor - nothing After poor reviews they contact to me via booking.com message.
Was very sarcastic and rude.
- Kibeom (2/5): Very poor - nothing No hot water.
No wifi (Veeeery poor)
Staff doesn't really speak eng except one American girl.
Really hard to get in to hostel
Super dry
Awful pillow
- Kibeom (2/5): poor - Nothing No hot water.

The pillow is awful
Super dry room.
- María (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pia (9/5): I would recommend - People were very nice Wifi wasn’t working well
- Christopher (10/5): Stay here don't bother looking elsewhere - I stayed for a total of 16 days with 3 visits and can say for the money this is one of the best deals in a hostel I have ever seen and I have traveled the world for decades. Nothing
- Christopher (10/5): Best Hostel deal in Cusco. - I have traveled the world for decades and this hostel is at the top of the list as being one of the best especially for the price.
It is also lest than a 5 minute walk to the huge San Pedro Mercado and Orion western style grocery store and train station. Nothing
- Juliane (3/5): Check the water situation. - The staff were friendly. The accomodations were ok for a hostel. There was only running water from 4pm to 7pm. You might want to ask about this. The stairs were steep and there were a lot. The main area wasn't the best. It didn't have a good feel to it in my opinion. I booked an entire appt with 3 beds and a kitchen for not much more.
- Kateryna (9/5): Superb - It's a great place to stay. In a city centre. Sometimes it's hard to get a hot water
- Kateryna (9/5): Superb - A great place to stay! It has all you need
- Viviana (9/5): Superb -
