Guest Reviews
- Hollie (9/5): Perfect for a city break! 100% would recommend. - Beth was an amazing host and the apartment was just what we needed for a couple of nights stay. Great value for money! Shower head could be doing with being changed as water sprays out everywhere. Only option on tv is Netflix. And it does get really cold really quickly if you turn the radiator off or open the living room door the the hall. The lock on front door can be a little tricky to lock and unlock. But those things are obviously just small so wouldn’t put me off booking again!
- MOWO (10/5): The apartment is awesome - Excellent The heating
- Jack (9/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): My stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. The host was very accommodating. - Not applicable NA
- Mandy (10/5): - I liked that it was central and that the owner went out her way to get birthday banners to make our wkend that bit more special which I was very grateful for so thank you so much I liked it all
- Kenny (8/5): -
- Christine (3/5): disappointed and shocked - Peace and quiet on the 10th floor, duplex, close to the town and shops, restaurant, that's all there is to it. The two TVs don't work, there's only one working spotlight above the shower, you have to go pee with a torch, the patio door doesn’t lock, there's no colander to drain the rice or pasta, the frying pans are in bad condition. There are only 2 spotlights in the kitchen, the other don't work. The bed is from the 60s, you can feel the springs, the cleaning hadn't been done for a long time, the top of the extractor hood is greasy and dusty, as are the hobs, the bathroom shelf was all dirty, full of marks, dust everywhere. I read the other comments complaining about the same things not being fixed, which means the flat is not well maintained. For this I give a very low rating and do not recommend this flat
When we arrived there was no message telling us the code and where the keys were, to access to the apartment luckily Beth was responsive to the message and told us the code.
- Ana (8/5): -
- Triinu (8/5): Great communication and lovely flat, but tellies didn't work - - Really appreciated how friendly and quick the owner was to communicate and respond to messages
- Great value for such a lovely place. My mum was over the moon after she saw the pretty sunset :) We also didn't expect it to have two floors and two loos (p.s. only the one upstairs had a shower in there too).
- Wifi worked
- Kitchen had lots of pots-pans, cutleries, crockeries, ... ; salt, oil, .. . There was also a fridge-freezer, which was great.
- Convenient location and well connected. Greggs is just around the corner and there is a Hop-on/off bus stop super close as well (which you can use only after picking up the initial ticket from the central area; the red sightseeing bus), not to mention the Charing Cross train station.
- Working lift
- Can't hear the neighbours - Bathroom upstairs was a bit sketchy since there was only a single small led-light. The room remained pretty dark with just one source of light over the shower cubicle. Literally had to use my phone torch to check if I left the loo clean afterwards.
- Two tellies didn't exactly work. I thankfully had my own laptop and HDMI cable with me (not my first rollercoaster), but had to use the sound from laptop rather than via cable. Really tricky accessing the back of the tellie too (ask a friend to hold on to the screen otherwise it can fall down!), since it's hanging very close to the wall without any flexibility to change it's direction.
- Traffic can be bit noisy if windows are open
- "Evening lighting" was way too bright (I'm prone to migraines and also need a bit more calming lighting to wind down), so I ended up climbing on a chair and removing 3 lightbulbs from the ceiling lamp. Extractor light and the tiny led's weren't enough of their own. Led lights were super weak.
- Sofa could be more comfortable. It was rather hard.
- William Scott (7/5): - Nice location. Nice view. The apartment is mostly functional. A significant refurbishment is sorely needed, but it was clean. Communication with the hist was good through the app. We were surprised that there was no toilet paper in either toilet. We travel extensively and never have stayed in a place where toilet paper wasn't provided. Luckily, there was a box of kleenex tissues in the living room. I found a small roll of paper towels under the kitchen sink.
I doubt I will stay in a 7 rated apartment again.
- Monika (7/5): - A few steps from the center and Buchanan bus station, opposite the Kings Theater. There are 2 toilets and a small balcony with a nice view. The apartment could be cleaner. The kitchen is well equipped, but the dishes and oven need washing.
The stairs to the first floor are steeper.
the bed in the living room is not very comfortable, but for 2 nights it was fine
- Linda (10/5): Comfortable stay in spacious central location - Spacious well equipped All good
- Jill (8/5): Spacious, needs some work! - Great location, spacious, balcony and view, gpod value Toaster broken, not enough mugs and glasses, no instructions, couldnt get living room tv to work, needs general maintenance and good clean. Upstairs plug sparked when unplugging the radiator, no toilet roll.
- Christian (9/5): Superb -
- Frank (3/5): An unstable sofa bed - Not the place to hide sharp things behind or put fire instructions beneath. - View and location were good. Flat was clean. Sofa bed uncomfortable and unstable, metal pieces with sharp edges * had been stowed behind it, which was discovered when bed toppled over during night. Toaster did not work. Which led to smoke alarm going off when tried to use grill pan to toast bread. Then we noticed there were no fire safety notice displayed on door, to provide instructions on resetting smoke alarm. These too were ( for some reason) on a laminate stowed under the sofa bed. *no idea what these were/had been used for. But they definitely should not have been there.
- Hamilton (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay was right next to kings theatre where had booked a show perfect great communication and lovely place to stay
- Chris (8/5): Very good. Would definitely recommend. - Facilities were what we needed. Internet, Netflix etc. Bed was a tad too soft for my liking, but that’s just me being pedantic.
- Eoin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michał (8/5): Very good - The apartment is spacy, the bed is comfortable, and its location is awesome! I’ve rented it for two weeks straight and it suited me, beside some weaknesses I’ll point out next. Even though the appart. Is located in the downtown, it’s quiet there at night, which was important to me. That’s 10th floor. And one more thing want to add: A perfect and problemless owner. Always in reach and always ready to help and assist with your needs you may have. Before I showed up there, on the spot, the Owner has already answered all my questions. I’m more than satisfied with the mutual contact we had. Super! Leaking kitchen tap, loose window upstairs, or no paper towel in the kitchenette, these are weaknesses I can point out, but, form my experience, these’re what I’ve experienced in places I used to rent in Britain (which I’ve travelled wide and far). Probably, my wife and kids would kvetch about these, but since I’ve been to Glasgow on business and I rented the apartment for myself only, it wasn’t much a difficulty to me. Anyway, next time when in Glasgow on business, I’ll consider renting that place, again.
- Bethan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Green (8/5): The best sleep in the most comfortable bed, in a convenient location and excellent city views. - The most comfortable bed, powerful shower and good hair dryer. More glasses, tea and coffee provided.
- Natalie (3/5): Poor -
- Rose (7/5): For 2 nights with an attentive host the price was good. - Beth is a very sweet and attentive host. She has always responded promptly when I messaged her.
The location was great. Close to many restaurants. Loved the balcony. The view is amazing! The apartment needs some general maintenance and a deep cleaning. I'm not sure how many guests stay there that are from another country, like myself, but a manual about how to use things could be helpful and maybe with sights to see in the area.
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Fiona (6/5): We had a good time in Glasow and the position of the apartment was great. Just needs a bit of TLC. - It was a good location and the appartment is well designed. The decor is very tired. There were no towels out. We had to have a look around for them. There were two mismatched pillow cases on the bed, one stained. There were plugs and wires lying around as if things had been removed but the fixings left. The kitchen cupboards and work tops felt sticky and there were no working bulbs in the internal staircase which made things a little dangerous. In fact there were very few working bulbs anywhere. There was a large chair which may have been electric but was in a lying position so we couldn't use it.
