Guest Reviews

- Dani (9/5): LOVELY location and a well appointed bungalow. Great spot for city ventures with a car. - The bungalow is tucked into the most perfect culdesac that is backing almost immediately into the Glen Parva nature reserve, which is a gorgeous network of footpaths in the woods and along the canals. It was quiet and cozy and such a perfect reset and relaxation after a lot of travel. The property itself was old but well cared for, and the upgrades in the washroom were nice. It was a bit weird having the door to the backyard in the spare room, but I didn’t find any issues with it as I was alone with my dog. There was a toilet paper roll holder malfunction, which had been mentioned in previous reviews, but I just put the roll on top and it was no issue. The house is for sale so I’m assuming the current owners aren’t planning to fix that, which again, no issue for me!

- Therese (10/5): Value for money. - Lovely little bungalow, very close to shops and our family in Leicester. Very assessable for my elderly mother.I would definitely recommend staying here. The price is exceptional and it is in a very quiet area with lovely neighbours. Very large backyard and we were visited every morning from a friendly neighbourhood cat named Bonnie. 😀 It was not very clean, duvet on double bed was dirty and definitely not warm enough for the cold weather had so I brought 2 warmer ones for our stay . I had to wash all kitchen equipment before using ,dirty under the toilet seat There is a stained duvet thrown in the cupboard where the heater is which could easily just be thrown away.
- Diana (10/5): - Lovely, cosy place with perfect facilities for a small family. Close enough to everywhere we needed to visit. Would certainly recommend this place and stay there again.
- Jamie (8/5): - Shower pressure was excellent !
It was really nicely presented and gave a bit of a hotel feeling upon arrival.
Mattresses were firm and enough pillows and towels for the tree of us.
Very quiet neighborhood.
We appreciated the thick curtains that kept the sunlight out. There was not enough forks and the cutlery and dishes didn't feel clean (sticky), which isn't necessarily the owners fault but previous guests.
The bed springs were tangible and hurt my hip. The chairs in the dining room felt like they were going to break soon.
Only one of four spots on the stove worked.
It could've used a little more storage especially for guests who stay for more than a couple of nights.
- Andre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jay (8/5): Pleasant. - The property is in a quiet cul-de-sac which if I'm honest is a long walk away from any amenities. The footpath (nature walk) to Fosse way is very poorly lit & scared my son half to death (this has nothing to do with the property but worth mentioning). On arrival there was a dampish smell, but once the heating has been turned on it mostly went away.
Facilities are great, Virgin broadband and TV, Smart TV in the living room connected straight to my phone so I could stream Prime TV and the like (nice touch!)
Tea, coffee and sugar plus washing up liquid was also supplied (again nice touch).
We found the beds very comfy and had a good nights sleep. Not properties fault but the location is definitely a car or taxi ride away to any eateries / pubs, although the local Dominoes do have a good delivery service.
- Jon (9/5): An excellent bungalow, very good Leicester location, well equipped, warm and comfortable - Location is excellent for central Leicester
- Kathleen (8/5): A well equipped, clean and comfortable bungalow. - For my needs, it was just right for the two weeks before moving into a new property with the added bonus of a disabled friendly wet room. Lack of indoor drying facility when weather bad.
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location at the end of a cul de sac
Everything we needed was provided
- Debra (6/5): A nice bungalow but in need of some TLC! - The bungalow is in a lovely quiet location, but still within easy reach of all major routes in and out of Leicester. I was staying with my brother, who has early onset Alzheimer's and can't manage stairs or small spaces, so the ground floor bedrooms and walk in wet room were perfect for us. The bungalow is in need of some running repairs and TLC. The toilet flush broke on first use, and we had to listen to running water all night, but a plumber arrived within an hour of me reporting it the following morning and fixed it later in the day (although previous reviews revealed that it had been reported before!). All of the curtain tracks are faulty, the wet room/shower floor needs replacing and doesn't actually drain all of the water away (it leaves puddles in various places) and the shower curtain isn't long enough or wide enough which adds to the puddles! The toilet roll holder is broken (also reported by previous guests), the dining chairs are all very wobbly and the garden is weedy and unloved. The small single bedroom has curtains at the main window but the door to the back garden is also in the room and there is no curtain or blind for the window in it! (The sun comes up on that side of the bungalow, so be prepared to be woken by the sun in your face!). There are also no blinds in the kitchen or bathroom. We struggled to get the TV to show normal TV, just apps etc, but there are no instructions for anything in the bungalow. Previous properties I have stayed in have had information folders with all relevant info in, but there is not one here.
When we arrived, the floor looked like it needed a hoover, one of the small tables was covered in sticky stuff and there were sweet wrappers and rubbish under the bed. When they did the service clean after the first week, however, the place was spotless.
I don't mean to be negative, it is a nice bungalow and perfect if you need ground floor access like we did, but it needs some serious TLC!
- Nicholas (7/5): Good - The area is peaceful and you have everything you need in a short distance. It has not really been modernised in 12 years by the looks of Rightmove, the toilet flush never worked properly and the shower room pvc looked a little old and was coming up not letting the water drain properly.
It could do with a bit of fresh air when not in use,it smelled a bit funny.
I know I'm making it sound bad but the area is so nice and I would probably stay again if they put some love into it,or one day it will just be really old and run down.
- Scott (10/5): Fantastic - Perfect No hoover
