The attendant was very friendly and helpful. I stayed at Deepjen Homestay in Darjeeling for three days last week with my family. While the location was peaceful and the initial reception was polite, the overall experience left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we found the bathroom in our room unclean. Although it was cleaned promptly after we pointed it out, that was the only time it was cleaned during our entire stay. Basic amenities like water, toiletries, and towels were not provided by default; they were made available only upon request, and only once, on the day of our arrival. Due to the cold weather and our wet clothes (as it was raining when we arrived), we requested a room heater. While one was provided, it came with an extra charge of ₹500 per day, which felt excessive considering we used it for just a few hours. The room had a geyser, but unfortunately, it did not function when we needed it. We were told this was due to a power failure, but no backup or alternative solution was offered. At the time of checkout, we noticed that a few extra charges had been added to our final bill for items we had not requested. Due to time constraints, I didn’t dispute them at the moment, but I believe I ended up paying approximately ₹1,000 more than what was actually due. While the staff were generally courteous, the lack of proactive service and transparency in billing were disappointing. With a little more attention to cleanliness, honesty, and guest comfort, this homestay could offer a much better experience.

• Aditya (1/5): Very bad experience. - There was no complimentary breakfast, no wifi, and no geezer. We had to take bath with cold water at 4 am in the morning. Everything, except the lady owner was good. Everyone else was looting us. They didn't tell us the wifi password, saying he forgot the password.
• Raju (1/5): Bad - I didn't see anything to love in this homestay. Only 2 beds were there and nothing. It's very difficult to manage with family members.
• Nayan (8/5): Very good - Staff is really good and rooms are very comfortable. I just feel like there should be some space for drying clothes otherwise everything was good.
• Rahul (10/5): felt like home very comforting. - The best homestay in Darjeeling! Not for a single second did we feel far away from home. Uncle and Aunty were very helpful and friendly. They allowed us to cook food in their kitchen and even hired a taxi for us (the taxi driver, Vinay Bhaiya, was also very hospitable). Highly recommended for those looking for a homely experience during their stay in Darjeeling.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME IN TRUE SENSE! - there are so many things to like - the hosts first, especially Santa didi & her husband, they are like your own family, their behaviour, their hospitality, the foods awesome especially Santa didi's special chicken preparations, you will never feel like you are away from home, they are your home. nothing much to say - the only problem is their entrance if you are traveling with senior citizens or patients, otherwise the hosts are very helpful and full of joy while helping you, the most preferable visitors are family because dada & didi enjoy very much spending time with families.
