Guest Reviews
- Kenia (6/5): - The old furniture , weak wifi, shaky bed and chairs
- Sallie (1/5): - Booked for three people, provided 1 bed, when asked where the other bed was, was told they had run out of beds. So 3 people slept in a queen bed. The lack of beds
- Robin (9/5): All good - All Parking facility
- JUAN (9/5): It’s ok - Location Location
- Wayne (8/5): Well worth the stay, large room and comfortable bed - Large room and comfortable bed. Location is excellent and facilities such as an element to cook on is a bonus. There is no double glazing on windows so can be quite noisy.
- Lisa (4/5): - This particular hotel is in a old building which is kinda fun and quirky but it's really noisy. The lack of double glazing and insulation means you hear everything from outside, and the plumbing inside is quite noisy too. - Derrick (4/5): Just needed somwhere to sleep and shower. Rhis is fine for that and the location. Nothing more - Like stepping into 1970 Very tired
- paige (8/5): Good, staff are great. - Location Very very outdated
- Kyle (8/5): -
- Bruce (8/5): -
- Kim (6/5): - The size of the bedroom and bathroom were great. The electrical plugs and lights beside the beds didn't work.
- Edwards (9/5): -
- John (10/5): -
- Natalie (9/5): I had the best experience of staying . - Very unique building and very easy to get to where we wanted to go. The bed could be bigger for the big room(6c) over rolls fabulous
- Jake (8/5): Recommend for cheap city stays - Great location and awesome value for money. Friendly staff. Heater and windows that actually open. Would book again. Quite a bit of noise, loud doors, lift ect but bearable for such a low price
- Bridey (7/5): -
- Miles (8/5): - Location was excellent. Room was a good size. Price for the room was reasonable.
- Peter (7/5): Throughly enjoyed my stay - Location and comfort No sky tv
- Warren (9/5): Will happily stay again - The property is clean, tidy, and consistent with my previous stays there. The front desk is not permanently staffed at the weekend, but the staff did come when I phoned.
- Rachaha (7/5): - Great location and friendly staff The rooms were a bit dated
- Lyn-Maree (9/5): - Loved the location, friendly staff and was iimpressed with the size of the apartment. Lovely comfy bed and everything we needed for our brief stay.
- Karyn (7/5): - Enough space for everyone at the lounge , it was great to have two toilets, they’re clean. The rest of the rooms were good and clean. I would like to request that the chair next to the tv be removed. The springs in the seat are unstable, and I nearly fell off. I also checked the Tv cables because the tv had sound but no pictures and they were not tightened properly. The heater’s cable is also very loose and should be checked by electrician for health and safety reasons.
Lastly, the wifi router needs upgrading. The connection is very weak and drops frequently.
- Ian Jeremy Dean (8/5): - Heritage Building. Carpet on the room is a classic design. Bed wonderful. Bathroom generous and having a washing machine and a dryer were a godsend. The lifts are tired and the foyer a little mean.

- Clark (8/5): -
- Amanda (9/5): -
- Lisa (6/5): Pleasant, and handy location - The location was fabulous, and the reception staff were lovely. The bathroom wasn't very clean - a lot of soap residue on the soap dish in the shower, and just a general feeling that the room was in need of a refresh. We had the window open and it was noisy all night, so we would have appreciated air conditioning.
- Richard (3/5): -
- Jan Parker (8/5): - Central to city with easy walking distance to everything. Plenty of room.
Great pressure in the shower No aircon room got stuffy, we could open a window but would then have the traffic noise
Bathroom could do with a spruce. Shower grout ting could do with replacing
- Cameron (7/5): -
- Lauren (10/5): -
- Morwyn (6/5): Won’t stay again - Proximity to TSB Arena Loud noises from the road and very uncomfortable bed
- Sue (10/5): -
- Theresa (8/5): - Location A bit worn down in places
- jack (10/5): -
- Melissa (8/5): A warm welcome and absolutely everything you need - Eve at the front desk was an example of exceptional customer service. Give her a raise! Laundry facilities in the bathroom, and comfortable beds. A real apartment in the central city! No air conditioning but the windows could be opened which was wonderful! And the heaters worked too, so it’s not a big deal.
- Caitlin (10/5): Great - Great staff, large room size, great shower, excellent location for a reasonable price.
- Christina (10/5): Will definitely being staying there every time we are in Wellington - The staff were amazing! The room was very clean! It was so good having a washing machine and a clothes horse to dry all our clothes on! OMG and the shower pressure….absolutely fantastic!!!
- Skelton (9/5): -
- Brian (5/5): Like the location but site needs bringing up to a better standard. Not a lot required but some improvements for good qua - Very handy. Our room was 8A. Very cold. Bed was poor, even uncomfortable compared to other rooms we have stayed in. Furniture falling to bits. Heated towel rail didn’t work. Wardrobe door has come off runner, broken. 3 day stay, no room service at all. Even needed to ask for roll of toilet paper.
- Michael (6/5): Very average. - Location and price The property is in need of some repairs and the windows need to be replaced. Also there was no hanging space.
- Tony (9/5): -
- Karol (10/5): Windy but wonderful Welly - Fantastic friendly receptionist, great location and spacious room, underfloor heating in bathroom No view from windows
Mismatch lounge furniture and bit cluttered
- Jeff (8/5): -
- Benjamin (5/5): The room was cheap but could have been better. - Location excellent / Staff very nice & courteous / Excellent shower & bathroom / spacious room The room smelt musty like wet clothes that have been left in the dryer. Even with the windows open the smell remained. Appliances might be due for an upgrade, extractor vent in bathroom could have done with a clean. I understand the building is old but general maintenance could be improved.
- Ric (8/5): Great location, good space - The staff are friendly, the apartments are a good size and well equipped and the location was great The wifi was slow and could be unstable
- JIM (8/5): -
- Katrina (2/5): This felt nasty - The woman on reception was friendly, and the after-hours check-in was easy. The room was a good size and in a good location. A backpackers would have been better. There was leftover mouldy food in the fridge. The crumbs and spills from the last occupants were still on the table (and between the cracks of the wood hadn't been cleaned ever). There was no hand soap for the toilet. The curtain was off its hooks (and too high to reach), so light came in. The bed was saggy and uncomfortable. I woke at 4am because the dust was giving me asthma...I never get asthma. You have to pull out the bedside tables to use the plugs. The lamps have switches hanging down the back which you can't get to, and there is only one other lightbulb in the room. The kitchen cupboard door didn't shut properly, and the bathroom door needed to be slammed to stay shut. The carpet in the hallways and the lift were dirty and looked unvacuumed. I don't like to give a negative review, but I wouldn't stay here again. They did bring me hand soap when asked, but missed fixing any of the cleaning issues.
- Shelley (9/5): - The perfect location and the front desk staff (Eva) was exceptional It’s noisy with construction noise at night. To be expected
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Vicki (7/5): - Great location. While clean and comfortable, the room we stayed in could do with a refresh.
- Kath&Ian (8/5): We enjoyed our stay and will use this hotel again when we visit Wellington. - Comfortable and warm. Everything worked as expected in the kitchen and bathroom. Good cooking facilities. The furniture was a bit dated, but still comfortable and functional.
The location was ideal for us, right in the middle of town with an easy walk to Cuba Street, Te Papa, The waterfront, and the new Library. The bus stop was just across the road. There was some traffic noise, but no enough to keep us awake and being in the middle of town that was expected. There were no bed lamps which was a inconvenient as it was awkward when one wanted to sleep while the other wanted to read.
- Adam (3/5): -
- Elaine (7/5): - great location a little noisy
- John (10/5): Great location for a central stay - Location Bit tired and wasn’t super clean - parking wasn’t available despite being advertised
- Kathryn (10/5): We loved this hotel and had a very comfortable stay. - Lovely spacious and comfortable room. We had full kitchen and laundry facilities in our room, so after travelling non stop for 7 days, it was great to be able to relax in our room with a meal while we got our clothes clean!
We loved this hotel, and how close it is to everything in the city. Only drawback was not having parking on site (which is understandable in a capital city). The distance from with the parking area can be difficult when you have a lot of luggage. There is no dedicated drop off parking specifically for the hotel either, so we did 4 laps around the block before we could stop to let a passenger out to run inside and arrange the parking.
So that was not ideal.
- Nakeeb (1/5): - Just the view Cleanliness was a major issue. I also took a video showing that both the kettle and toaster were covered in dust. This is not acceptable, especially since Quest has a strong reputation. I attempted to call but couldn’t get through to anyone. This matter needs to be addressed, as it was quite outrageous. Please ensure this feedback is passed on to the appropriate team.
- Mohammed (10/5): -
- James (7/5): Great spot to explore Wellington - Great location, lovely art deco building.
- Jozefa (5/5): -
- Wayne (10/5): -
- Ivana (10/5): This is a great hotel in the heart of Wellington. Staff were very kind and special thanks to Eva who helped us to move o - Everything Nothing
- Anne (8/5): -
- Wundawimmin (9/5): -
- Shannon (2/5): Desperately in need of a revamp and not worth the $ paid. - Bed was comfortable and water was hot. Very old and run down, heater fell off the wall, one leg of the dining table wasn’t even attached to the table, windowsills are cracking with building material pushing through, paint and gib has blistered and cracks all through. Couch was old, lumpy and springy.
- Beilby (8/5): On the whole, ok - Close to transport and shopping Very noisy both from streets below and from other guests slamming their doors which seems to be automatic closing mechanism when guests do not hold door to close. Exceptionally noisy!!
- Haiyan (8/5): - Location was very good, room facilities are good too. Quite noisy on the street, probably due to weekend
- Lyn (5/5): -
- Marco (8/5): -
- Duncan (4/5): - Location was great Deafening road and street noise in room 1E. Needs sound proofing and double glazing.
- McVicker (5/5): -
- Sean (8/5): - We have stayed before, nice and central and the 2 bedroom unit is spacious. Could have more items in the kitchen. There were no dish towels and not enough powder to run the dishwasher each day. The dryer in the bathroom had the lint cover continuously falling off.
- Steve (8/5): - Location and price Nothing
- Nicky (8/5): - location noise/heat
- Carol (10/5): - Location, helpful friendly staff, cleanliness, apartment was roomy, dishwasher, washing machine & dryer in apartment. Very comfortable. I would suggest the lounge chairs are replaced, they were worn & there's were buckled.
- Katherine (3/5): - Aged, bed not comfortable, cooking facilities and utensils limited. building has a great history but it would have been great to display that. Has a chance to be fantastic but misses the mark.
- Chris (10/5): Great spot for stay in Wellington - Great location Nothing
- AnnMarie (7/5): Reasonably priced hotel, with great access to all the attractions in Wellington. - We had an apartment, so very handy having the kitchenette & separate bedroom. Great view over Oriental Bay. Staff were lovely & helpful. So close to everything in Wellington - easy walk to anywhere. The wifi kept cutting out. The property is very dated and a little tired looking.
- Leonie (7/5): - Centre of town No plug for k
- Mary (9/5): - Brilliant location.
- Mansfield (8/5): Good location, clean rooms. - Very good location, close to both the CBD and the train station. The wifi was very slow and sometimes did not work, having good wifi is a must for international travellers.
- Veronica (5/5): -
- Brittany (9/5): Would stay again - Has everything you need Internet was unusesble
- Nils (3/5): Wouldn’t book it again. - Hotel location is nice. The furniture is pretty old and partially broken; our son was sitting on a chair with a broken leg… two other chairs had nails coming out of their surface which destroyed 3 of our trousers. We had to put up the roll-away bed ourselves when arriving late with 2 small children. There was no information how to enter the building during after-office-hours - we were lucky that someone let us in. Wouldn’t book it again.
- Hyunok (9/5): -
- randle (7/5): Enjoyable - Sky tv
Air conditioning
- Julia kilpatrick (7/5): Good stay - Location and good value . A large space. Ok for a night. Couldn't connect to wifi and window wouldn't shut as stiff.
- Hari Prasad (7/5): I don’t like welligton due to welligton police are irritating not giving space to tourists and always chesa ding with ca - Neat and tidy No parking facility and hotel exists on one way . Problem with Wellington police and they keep on checking for mistakes and higher traffic challans and they are stocking the tourists and visitors looking for the mistakes and chasing with the cars
- keith (9/5): -
- Noah (6/5): Needs Renovation and Update - The location is central to CBD and close to the harbour front. The room size is large and spacious. The pillows were soft and comfortable. I enjoyed the large size bathroom and strong water pressure in the shower. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The power points by the bed didnt work in Room 8A so couldnt turn on the bedside tables. The carpet and lounge furniture is very old and itchy. Its long overdue for replacement. The springs in the furnature have gone. The kitchenette is very old and rotten and also needs replacement.
- Guest (8/5): -
- Anna (10/5): Excellent location, good value, spacious room - Excellent location and reasonable price, the room was very spacious, great stay right in downtown.
- Guest (10/5): -
- Susan (5/5): A bit tired and definitely not sound proof - Great location for TSB arena and shopping. Easy walk to Cuba St & Te Papa. Single glaze windows don't help with traffic noise, but that is minor compared with the banging doors along the corridor - soft closing hinges are needed!
- Dianne (10/5): Central place in Wellington - Central accommodation, close to Cable car to the tram museum and Botanical gardens. Very clean, great staff. We had wine glasses and a tea towel missing and they were delivered to our room straight away. Bed comfortable, WiFi good. We didn't have a car so don't know about parking. We ate at the underground markets near by, great food places at the Mexican and the Thai. nothing to report, all good.
- Vivienne McGregor (7/5): - The reception staff were very cheerful, efficient and helpful. The location is ideal, being closed to shops, eating places and sightseeing The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes from the previous occupant. I put the washer on, and stacked the dishes back onto the shelves. The cleaning staff should have done that. One of the window frames had been damaged and didn't close properly. There was a LOT of noise from the street and no double glazing to deaden the sound.
- Paul & Linda (8/5): - Great location, good price A bit tired
