• Louise (10/5): The perfect escape! - Perfect location and such a beautiful, well-appointed unit. The owners have thought of everything and there's nothing we could fault. Easy check-in and-out. We see Jacob's Bay and the Magical Mongoose as the memory-making holiday spot we will keep coming back to with our daughter (now 4yrs old)! The local restaurant in the bay was exceptional, the beach such fun, and the sunset from the boardwalk in front of the unit was spectacular. We loved every minute of our stay. Thank you! Only that our stay had to come to an end!

• Jacques_N (9/5): Stunning views complementing an excellent and cozy stay - Absolutely stunning and practical layout inside the unit, with all the amenities you could think of. The beds were super comfy, the unit clean and organised, and it had the best ocean view (we had the balcony unit) - only a stone throw (or stroll) away. A true lock up and beach stay for singles, couples or small family. The unit managers were also very hospital and ready to assist. Not much, the unit was well maintained and stocked. The little latch gate wasn't enough to keep our toddler contained and away from the flight of stairs though (there's a small brick wall/bench just next to it, easily traversed).

• Claudine (9/5): Beautiful views, pristine coastline - Could not have been in a better spot You could not see the ocean when seated on the veranda. You have to stand because the wall obstructs possibly the best view in Jakobsbay. I Woujd definitely consider making this glass if building regulations allow or getting chairs that allow for a view. Lack of a lounge. We had two rooms, 5 adults and we had nowhere to sit together. Despite the above… we seriously loved this establishment

• Wendy (8/5): - Beautiful and clean with fantastic views. It is a gem to stay in. Just note that we preferred unit 3 for a 4 person stay, it had great light and views. The place is very well run and neat, clean and well stocked. Unfortunately the wind was very strong when we went but I am sure that the quiet days are absolutely golden. We did struggle a little with the locks but you get used to it.

And the property has everything you need with the smallest of details included. The complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate was such a lovely touch Would be nice to include a small amount of wood and firelighters (even if we have to pay extra) just for convenience.

• Elmari (10/5): Good for the soul - The location is absolutely fantastic, so close to the ocean you could throw a pebble from the balcony. The unit is very well designed, beautiful, cosy, well equipped and clean and tidy.. It is absolutely private and the peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. Highly recommended. We are most definitely going again. The 'Magical' in Magical Mongoose is very apt. Perhaps a mirror at the shower could be nice, but it's not a must.

Apart from this, the unit was neat, tidy, well equipped and the bed was heaven! From the moment I booked Magical Mongoose, all we have experienced was exceptional. Guests crave authentic experiences and interactions, and they are more likely to return to and recommend businesses that make them feel truly cared for. This was by far the best and it's really the best feeling to know that there are some good people left in this world!

Kitchen and everything spaced out very beautifully and nicely. Different light options. Fireplace available and braai facilities. Reliable wifi. Enjoyed the complimentary goodies very sweet and kind. Struggled to open the shutters, maybe we just not used to it. There are instructions on door Husband and children struggled to sleep. Kids beds maybe a bit small, pillows of one bed fell off during night.

It's a perfect spot for those seeking a tranquil retreat.
• Elbe (9/5): What a comfortable and memorable stay in a pristine setting! - The cottage apartment was very well equipped and everything was new, modern and clean. Setting is magnificent on the first floor of a cottage, right on the rocks with a picturesque view across the ocean in front. Dewald was very friendly and helpful; the delicious rusks, chocolate, quaint little fireplace and late check-out were all such lovely bonus treats! Being a studio cottage, it was perfect for our 1-night stay; for a longer stay with our 2 teenage sons, we would have required a bit more space.
