• YU-TE (8/5): A rare quiet room in the old town. - Located in the old town, close to public parking lots. The layout is a bit strange; you have to go through other people's rooms to get to the rooms on the upper floor.
• Anca (9/5): Nice apartment in a fantastic location, with a very kind and responsive host. Highly recommend. - The location is perfect! The apartment itself was spotless, and communication with Lucia the host was quick and easy throughout our stay. Lucia was incredibly helpful, sharing great tips for restaurants and even arranging a boat tour. Key collection was straightforward using the lockbox on arrival. One thing to be aware of is that the bedrooms are split across two levels connected by an outside staircase, which wasn’t very clear when booking. The first bedroom (with its own bathroom and a small kitchen) is on the lower floor, while the second bedroom and bathroom are upstairs and require stepping outside and climbing stairs to access. Outside stairs! You can only go out of the house if you pass through the bottom bedroom. You can only access the terrace if you pass through the upper bedroom. This setup felt a bit inconvenient and made it harder for us to stay connected. It might not be ideal if stairs are an issue.

• Andrea (9/5): Struttura centralissima - Nel cuore di Ortigia, una posizione che da sola vale il soggiorno. La struttura è pulita e accogliente. La proprietaria si è dimostrata molto gentile, fornendoci preziose indicazioni su parcheggio e ristoranti dove pranzare. Abbiamo avuto un piccolo inconveniente con la doccia, che risultava otturata, ma la signora Lucia è stata subito disponibile e si è dimostrata proattiva nel risolvere il problema. La macchinetta del caffè nel cucinino è un bel plus, ma c’erano solo una cialda normale e alcune decaffeinate. Essendo in quattro, non tutti hanno potuto prenderlo. Basterebbe aggiungerne qualcuna in più per rendere il soggiorno ancora migliore.

• Collin (7/5): A good base for exploring Ortigia. Very responsive and helpful host - Central location in medieval street. Easy to get to market and food shops as well as cafes and restaurants.. Rooftop terrace and washing machine were a bonus
• Helen (5/5): Think twice about coming here. - It had a bed and a bathroom , nice terrace on top to hang clothes and it had a washing machine. We booked 2 rooms as we are 2 couples travelling together. The upstairs room was only a small double bed, not a queen size. It was on 2nd floor( there is no mention of this in the description), and of course there are no lifts. Dragging heavy suitcases up 2 flights of stairs is not easy . Very difficult to first find the apartment because going into narrow alleyways the internet disappears, so it was only because of some friendly locals who showed us the way there, the owner was not to be seen, so no help. There was very limited crockery: 3 bowls for breakfast and there were 4 of us.
• Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is perfectly located in the Ortigia. Also, we really enjoyed the terrace, it is perfect for eating outside and for tanning. Also the host was really helpful with everything about our stay and answered immediately!

• Heather (10/5): A pearl in Ortigia - The layout worked well for us. I was travelling with my daughter and her boyfriend, and it was great to have two separate areas. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, everything was very clean, the towels smelled great, and we had everything we could need. The little kitchen was perfect for breakfast and lunch. Beautiful area, I would love to visit Ortigia again and would be happy to stay here. We loved the beach Spiaggia Diana nel Forte. The hostess was easy to get ahold of and responsive. The lockbox worked well for the keys, and we got a second set of keys for our last few days. There was paid parking closeby, and it was a great part of Ortigia to be able to use the free street parking in Syracuse. There was some construction closeby that started in the mornings. The room on the top floor couldn’t hear it, and I didn’t mind the incentive to get up and start my day.

• Gabiz. (10/5): Perfect stay in Syracuse for people seeking privacy. - I was traveling with my mom and really liked that we had separate rooms, each with own bathroom. The rooms are in different floors, kind of like maisonette but separated by outside doors in a yard so you don't hear anything (my mom is snoring). The terrace from the upper room is great for evening wine or for morning coffee. Coffee and tea is available. The location is great, quiet and close to the Apollo temple square where you have tons of restaurants for breakfast. It's also very close to the Talete parking. The host is great, responded to any questions about the apartment immediately. Only one thing was a bit strange: you have to use a little key to turn on the electricity. The key is on a bundle with the house keys and cannot be separated. So when you leave the house and take the key with you so that the other person who stays in the house doesn't need to run 2 floors to open the door for you, you leave the house and the person in it without electricity. A second key would be good.
• Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - An absolute gem in Ortigia! Great apartment close to the markets and very handy for exploring all areas. The bed was super comfortable, made use of the washing machine, but the best thing of all were the balconies!! A lower one with table and chairs for a sunny breakfast and a big ‘rooftop’ one with nearly 360 degree views (and even a bit of sea) - we made great use of this each evening watching the sun go down, with a bottle of wine of course! Lucia was very helpful and even left a complimentary bottle of wine. Would definitely stay here again if we ever get the chance to visit Siracusa in the future.

• Ronald (9/5): Great property and excellent location. Friendly and helpful host. Recommended! - The location is ideal for walking only a short distance from public parking lot. The apartment was very clean, and our host was quick to reply to our inquiries. Lucia is a sweetheart and offered excellent recommendations for restaurants and a boat tour of the island. It was easy to access the keys from the lockbox upon arrival. It wasn't clear to us when booking that the bedrooms of the apartment are on separate levels. First bedroom, which had it's own bathroom and also a small kitchen, was on the first floor, while the second bedroom and bath were on the second floor and required walking outside to walk up stairs to access it. This was awkward and prevented the two of us from communicating easily. If climbing stairs is a challenge, this may not be the right property for you. I thought the lighting in the upstairs bathroom was a bit dark.
• Caroline (10/5): Quirky apartment in the heart of historic Ortigia - Quirky 2 bed apartment on three levels. Tucked away in a narrow street in Ortigia close to the amazing market and not too far from the station. So, quite handy if you are arriving by train. Spotlessly clean and Lucia kindly gave us access to the apartment a bit earlier than advertised. Very welcome as it was 30 degrees on the day we arrived! Once through the front door from the street, the stairs to the apartment are a bit steep and tricky with a suitcase. But once inside there is a spacious double bedroom, en suite bathroom, and a small 'cupboard' kitchen equipped for hot drinks and simple meals. A bottle of cold water, some red wine and local cakes were also provided on arrival, which was a nice touch. The second double bedroom is up one floor via external stairs. An umbrella is provided in case it rains! There is another bathroom, and an outside dining area where you can enjoy breakfast or have an evening meal. The final set of stairs leads to a roof terrace which is a wonderful spot to admire the stars or see the sunset. The kitchen area was very small, but with so many great places to eat nearby we only really needed it to make drinks and have a simple breakfast, so it was ok.
• Paul (9/5): An excellent fully air conditioned apartment in Ortigio - This is an excellent property in the backstreets of Ortigia. It could have been a little difficult to find, as that part of the island is made up of very small alleys, but it was easy with Google Maps. It's about a 8 minute walk to the Cathedral, and only a couple of minutes from the bridge. There were clear instructions to collect the keys, and there was a bottle of wine waiting for us along with some delicious Sicilian biscuits. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and there is a small kitchen with an efficient hotplate for making coffee (also provided, which was very welcome). Both rooms (separated by an outside set of stairs) have their own bathroom, which was very handy, a fridge, and very welcome air conditioning for the hot summers. Internet works well. There are two balconies (accessed through the second bedroom); one with a table for sitting, and the other a roof terrace (although it was way too hot for us to use in July!) This is an excellent find, and I would certainly recommend it. It's worth noting (although this isn't in itself a problem - this is for information). the dining table; the kitchen and table are in one bedroom, while you go outside on a kind of fire escape to access the second bedroom and the balconies are through that room. This layout was totally fine for the two of us, as we were able to co-ordinate morning coffee and leaving, but it is as well to be aware that whoever is in the upper bedroom has to come through the first bedroom to exit, and the occupant of the lower room has to go through the upper room to access the balcony. This will be absolutely fine for two friends holidaying together (and gives a good degree of privacy). This layout worked fine for us.
• Surinder (7/5): Very clean and comfortable apartment - Location was good, Lucia sent us a Bee to pick us up from the station. Friendly and helpful host. No curtains With building work going on opposite builders could see right in when i was having my shower.
• Katarína (10/5): Very nice helpful owner. Good position, great terrace, high level of cleanliness - Very friendly and helpful owner, quickly responding to our questions all the time. The appartment is very special - two apartments with own bathroom and toilet, lower apartment has kitchenette, upper apartment with two-level terrace. The apartments are separated by private outer staircase, which is an advance if travelling as two pairs. The beds vere really comfortable. The apartment is situated in the labyrinth of genuine tiny quiet sicilian streets - it is real challenge to find it, but is very close to the market of ortigia. The position is very good. The appartment was above-expectations clean. The kitchen was really small, but enough for doing what we needed to do. The owner was fantastic, we received welcome bottle of wine, small snacks and basics in the kitchen - salt, sugar, coffee. The kitchen was not very equipped, there is no oven, two large cups more would be useful. There was a noise in the morning due to workers on the street, but it was silence in the evening. No seaview.
