Guest Reviews
- Gerald (3/5): Hotel needs many upgrades. - Bed mattress was excellent as was the temperature and water pressure in shower. Sink water pressure very low and never got hot. Refrigerator made constant noise. Toilet seat would not stay up. Furniture showed many signs of wear and tear. Carpet was filthy. Heater/air conditioner very noisy. Cleaning lady apparently mistook our snack bay for trash and took it with her.
- David (10/5): Great place, bad delivery, pack a few meals... - It was a cozy room, larger than most.
As far as the Hotel Staff, Amenities, Cleanliness, etc, it was great.
Sometimes, it's nice, when you live in a City, just to get away from Home, even if it is only 10 blocks away.
Granted nobody can afford to do this every week, but once a month seems very nice. Though not the fault of the staff, there are definite problems with getting food delivered in the area. Moreso, from Pizza Hut.
Delivery inspired inflation.
Seriously, it has been 3 days since I and my woman ordered Mini Apple Pies and we have yet to recieve them from Pizza Hut; And as we are now departed, I surmise that we never will get these Mini Apple Pies.
What's a meal without a dessert?
I suppose we were expected to eat dry breadsticks and be happy with that as a Dessert.
How was this resolved?
My woman bought me a Tastykake French Apple Pie Yesterday.
She's a sweetheart really, and makes up for all the wrong in the world, even as I try to do same for she. However, it should note that this deed of kindness my woman has done, though greatly appreciated, really does not erase or resolve the Pizza Hut Apple Pie Problem, Reputation and Delivery Mix-Up issue...
Heaven Forbid I was actually counting calories, or she was in some kind of dire medical emergency that needed some Apple Pie nutrition in the diet.
Should go without saying that: Pizza Hut really didn't deliver this time.
- Joy (9/5): It’s a no frills, but comfortable hotel. Location was perfect for what I needed. -
- ortiz (8/5): -
- Austin (7/5): There are few options in Pottsville. This hotel is the only downtown option - Did not have breakfast. The street access is miserable - on a badly maintained road and sidewalk.
- Sister Mary Ellen (4/5): I have had better service. - I did not have breakfast.
The location would be better if the parking were connected differently. There was an empty soda can on the floor near the window. The floor at the bottom of the bed was dirty. I called the main desk about the TV because, although I followed the instructions given, I could not get the channels. No one answered the phone. The next day, I was asked did I need anything and I told the young man at the desk about the TV. He said he would come and show me how to connect to the channels. I waited for him but he did not come.
Make sure rooms are clean. Be aware of the TV since there are changes that new customers need to know.
Also, be sure to check on the parking lot. I did not feel safe there around 7:00 pm.
- Elaine (6/5): would stay again as a ramada inn - location good, breakfast was just coffee, clean room, quiet floor, elevator time wait was minimal air conditioner would not turn on in the am(6-9); person spending long time on sidewalk in front of entrance
- Blatt (10/5): -
- rashon (10/5): - Everything
- jane (10/5): The best staff you could ask for hands down ! Kind , thoughtful and honest - The property is being redone so it’s in a transitional state The current parking is a little challenging across the street but it’s fine for most ppl
- Sam (3/5): Poorly managed, not fully staffed or cleaned. - The staff working the front desk were apologetic and helpful. Management is not making sure the maids are cleaning the rooms. I had switch rooms three times, the first two rooms had bedding with make up or hair. The owner/manager were not present and did not reach out to apologize themselves.
- Russ (7/5): I'll come back the next time I need a room when I'm in Pottsville. - room was clean - I liked having hardwood floors instead of carpeting. comfy bed. parking is not convenient. I got a ticket because I wasn't sure where I could park [I parked in the old Ramada lot since the hotel used to be a Ramada]. Next time I'll be sure to ask where hotel guests may park.
- Alice (1/5): WORST HOTEL STAY - The location centrally located to downtown. There was no heat in the room. I spoke to front desk staff and he was supposed to have maintenance look at it but that didn’t happen. Thought about asking for a diff room but realized there wasn’t any heat in any rooms. Literally froze.. BBB and city will be called tomorrow to report them. No WiFi, breakfast terrible.
- Davis (1/5): Did not stay - Nothing. Did not stay. No heat in room or upgrade
Left
Outside did not look to be a hotel. Quite bad Everything
- Sergio (1/5): - I asked for help for cancellation and nobody answered my request. Nothing
- Castellano (8/5): -
- Willie (9/5): Fantástico - Tranquilo
- Jessica (10/5): -
- Jeremy (7/5): -
- Anthony (4/5): I wouldn’t stay again. - Breakfast Mixed smokers and non smokers
- Tonie (7/5): -
- Karissa (7/5): -
- Caroline (6/5): -
- James (5/5): Was ok - Staff was great had a blocked toilet and sink drained very slow outlet cover missing floor sticky Looked run down been under renovation for ever many years nothing changed
- David (4/5): Disappointing - The parking is to far away. The building has no number looks like run down shack on the outside. Was hard to find sign on the build says under renovation which makes you think it is the wrong place.
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Webb (1/5): Find somewhere else - We were not able to stay at this hotel due to poor air quality as they have a significant mold issue. Within minutes of walking into the hotel, my husband began to have breathing difficulties. We went to see the front desk, who said they would issue a refund. They showed me the screen showing the refund. We found a different hotel. We then got up this morning and saw a second charge. I called the hotel and the girl said she would look into it. We never heard back from her.
The hotel should not be able to rent out rooms right now. The room that they tried to check us into had soft floors/rotted subflooring. The indoor hallways are hot and damp. There are missing and water logged ceiling tiles in the lobby.
It's really bad.
- David (1/5): Bad -
- Hina (3/5): Poor. Not happy - Booking I do had breakfast included and they cancelled that couple of days ago at the hotel and their staff or guest didn’t know about it. Place was under renovation, AC and room phone were not working.
- Jerry (9/5): Superb -
- Gina (10/5): 10/10 recommend - Everyone that works there is sooo nice and the location is so convenient to almost everything in a walking distance. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Most people are complaining about homeless people and people doing drugs but that isn't the hotel's fault. And when reading other people's reviews they made it sound like there was a lot of them and that wasn't true either. The hotel is very nice with an exceptionally good staff. If I ever come back to Pottsville, I will definitely be staying here. Walls in the room could use some cleaning.
- Iryna (6/5): room was actually quite dirty - We had a terrible experience at this hotel. At first glance, it seemed very clean, but our room was actually quite dirty. There was dust everywhere, the bathroom floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and there was an old coffee pod left in the machine. I do not recommend this place. The only good thing about the hotel is its location.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Cathy (8/5): The hotel is close to what we need. Clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly - Check in was very easy. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very nice. Staff is very polite. They are renovating which is nice. They do need to update the furniture in the rooms.
- Birchard (5/5): Passable -
- Colton (7/5): I was able to relax and not be bothered. - Very nice. NA
- Chris (1/5): Bad -
- Thom (7/5): Good - Location
- Kelly (7/5): Decent basic hotel - The room was clean and met my expectations. No breakfast
- Stacy (4/5): Disappointing - Location was excellent. The whole place is in pretty rough shape.
- Diane (7/5): Good - Room was clean, quiet, comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job every day Parking lot across the street, not monitored for safety. Had to carry/drag luggage across broken sidewalk to side entrance to avoid front steps
- Kimberly (4/5): The place is being renovated. - The location. The cable was not working.
- Don (5/5): Passable - Less shit bag individuals hanging around the place
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional - The Gentleman at the front desk was very nice n very accommodating.
- Donald (1/5): Hard to love - The young man at front desk is a genuinely good guy and straightforward. I feel reluctant writing a review but the pictures on Booking do not give an adequate expression of the jarring reality of this place.
The tasks and costs of rehabbing the facility are daunting. We did not stay and he refunded our payment. I appreciate his understanding and I regret this but the totality of things at this site may be hard to remedy. The site is in a difficult location There is no way to load/unload at the hotel except finding a small side alley which has business dumpsters and homeless people sitting and smoking. A car in that position would then back out into traffic All parking is in a lot across a road.
- F. (6/5): It was O.K. - nice room comfortable bed quiet Brown water???? TV Remote inoperative
- Julia (1/5): Bad - Very little to like. The quality of this hotel was seriously misrepresented. Hotel not as advertised. Definitely NOT a 3 star hotel as stated on site and should not have a "recommended" label. Rooms were run down, dirty, smelly. We needed to move rooms since first room had garbage on floor, strong odor and sink would not drain due to broken sink plug. In second room, TV not functional, everything was cheap and old, doors chipped and scratched, paint on bed skirt, broken outlet cover, mismatched old worn looking furniture, missing molding trim, uneven floors. Breakfast advertised on Booking.com but no food available. Very inadequately staffed. No one at desk to monitor people coming into building or using elevators to guest rooms. No one available to check us out in the morning - we just had to leave. Security not apparent anywhere. Not at all a 3 star hotel as represented on Booking.com and photos completely misleading. The quality of the hotel is being misrepresented.
