Guest Reviews
- Vanessa (9/5): - The rooms were very spacious and confortable. All the lodge was renewed and well maintained. The breakfast and the dinner were very good.
The Chateau is more inside Imilchil than other lodgings but it was accessible with the motorcycles and we had no problems leaving them outside.
- Alexandra (8/5): - Accueil et gentillesse de l’hôte.
Chambre extrêmement propre. Petit déjeuner maison et délicieux. Wifi pas tjs stable mais ce n’enlève en rien le reste.
- Simona (8/5): - Camera essenziale e accogliente, letto molto comodo, fondamentali le coperte presenti in camera (soggiorno metà Maggio circa). Ottima cena e anche la colazione! Piccoli lussi!
- Florence (8/5): Un hotel confortable - Bien situe.

Absolute Empfehlung.
- rania (10/5): - An absolutely wonderful stay at Imchillil Hotel. Everything exceeded our expectations.
The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional, making us feel at home from the very first moment.
The food was delicious, fresh, and well prepared, and the cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, from the rooms to all common areas.
A special heartfelt thank you to Ms. Mina and Mr. Hassan for their exceptional hospitality, warm attitude, and great attention to detail. They truly made our stay memorable.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, quality service, and a pleasant atmosphere. We would definitely love to come back again!

Dommage
- Maria Jole (5/5): Overall unacceptable price - The room was nice quality and well decorated. Clearly recently renovated. First of all: unfortunately the location itself was in an abandoned corner of the inhospitable Imilchil town, which was also dirty. However the people were nice.
Communication was very difficult as there was a language barrier due to the villagers only speaking a local dialect. The hotel’s price was way too high for the actual place and location.
- Pim (8/5): Goed verblijf maar te duur voor wat je krijgt en qua ambiance - Mooie ruime kamer Geen warm en hartelijk ontvangst van gastheer
- Zine (8/5): Very good -
- Pas (10/5): Very Good Dinner - What truly set our mountain getaway apart was the homemade dinner served each evening. For only €20 per person, we enjoyed an authentic feast that felt like it came straight from a local family kitchen. The highlight was a slow‑cooked tagine in a traditional clay pot—tender vegetables, perfectly balanced spices, and meat so soft it fell apart at a touch. The aroma alone promised something special, but the depth of flavor exceeded every expectation: rich, comforting, and full of subtle nuances.
- Lazorty (10/5): Wonderful Place - I had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful mountain hotel. The views were absolutely breathtaking — waking up to the sight of mist rolling over the peaks was like a dream. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile and helpful tips for exploring the area. My room was cozy, spotless, and perfectly blended modern comfort with rustic charm. The food at the on-site restaurant was delicious it was 20 euro per person , its really deserve it ,very very fresh food, especially after a day of hiking. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for peace, nature, and a touch of luxury. Can’t wait to come back!
- Robert (10/5): A peaceful escape in the mountains - I absolutely loved my stay at this charming mountain hotel. The location is breathtaking, surrounded by nature and stunning views. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind away from the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. My room was cozy, clean, and had a beautiful view from the balcony. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of local and fresh options. I’ll definitely come back again during the winter season for the snow!

- Ab (7/5): Good - The room was a bit cold and although there was an electric heater, it did not get the room warm. The room was clean, food was good, and the hosts were nice.
- Anna (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable, pretty rooms. Not on the main road, so bit hard to find. We did arrive after dark though, so just look out for the sign on the main road saying “Chateau Imilchil”!
- Eric (3/5): The floor is ice. - The food was very good. The rooms were freezing cold with only one electric heater which didn't accomplish much of anything, and the hot water was either scalding or freezing. For 150€ per night, it was too uncomfortable.
- Elaine (10/5): Fantastic stay in Imilchil - Such a nice and cozy place. The room was beautiful and so spacious. Dinner was fantastic and the owner was so kind and helpful. Definitely recommend this place!
- Paul (8/5): We enjoyed our stay at the hotel as the staff were very friendly and the facilities were fine. Immature is a very small - Hussein, who looked after us was extremely friendly.
And provided us with a good breakfast and supper. It was rather cold and there is no heating in the bedroom we were in. We did get a small electric heater which helped.
- John (7/5): Good enough, in a pinch. - This property was decent for what it was… The owner, or maybe he was the manager, was obviously hard working. The food was good. Given the area, I’m sure you could do plenty worse… The photos used of the Imilchil area, make you think the location was more beautiful. Borderline false advertisement. It was very confusing upon arrival. The sinks in our bathroom didn’t work and the shower head was not good either. A bit pricey in our opinion.
- Anna (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Atlas Mountains - Amazing hospitality, very cozy and spacious room, cleanliness.
If you’re entering the Atlas, hotel is a very good choice. Me and my partner got upgrade for a bigger room.
- Xavier (9/5): Superb - The food !
- Isobel (8/5): Very good -
- Federica (10/5): Truly berber experience - the hotel is decorated with love and cure and you can really immerse yourselves in the berber culture. The family who welcomed us ha da lot of attentions to us. really cleaned and the dinner was very good parking for motos are not so comfortable
- Mark (8/5): Excellent place to stop for the night in Imilchil. - Chateau Imilchil is a little gem in such a remote place. Fantastic place to stop for the night and the evening meal was great. Their roof terrace is stunning and we had tea made for us on arrival. The place was beautifully quiet as there were only two other guests. Very clean and tidy with lovely decor. The owner was friendly. He wasn’t there, but he made sure to speak to us on the phone. The room descriptions are a bit misleading. We paid extra to have a junior suite because it stated there was a sitting room with sofa bed and a separate bedroom. I did this on purpose as one of us snores and we sometimes need to separate at night. However, it was just one big room. Thankfully, we were okay. A little expensive compared to other options in the town.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Very good food
Very nice familiar atmosphere Parking is a bit offroad with the motorcycle
- Svenja (10/5): Amazing stay with amazing host - It was an amazing, extra ordinary stay in the Haut Atlas mountains. We were warmly welcomed by the owner lady with tea and cookies. They gave us an upgrade and we got a super nice hugh room with mountain view. The room is nicely decorated with typical marrocain, berber style furnitures and things. Everything is super clean which is difficult in this dusty area. The bathroom was nice too, water pressure is great and hot water too.
The dinner, salade marrocain, Harira soup, olives, dades and fruit desert was very tasty and decorated very nice. All made by the owners lady and another woman. The breakfast was also great. We felt very good, slept very good, too bad that we stayed only 1 night. We can highly recommand this place. The whole house is well maintained. Thanks to Mohammed and his wife.
Note: The place is 2200 meter high, it can be cool. -
- Louise (1/5): Worst stay in Morocco - There was a recent renovation. We love Morocco and the people are nice but..
1. No Staff - When we arrived there was no one at the hotel. We called the numbers and got no answer. after a 30 to 60 minute wait someone showed up to let us in.
2. No English - None of the staff spoke any English. We could not communicate.
3. Smell - Our daughter’s room smelled with a bad odour.
4. No Curtains - our window did not have curtains for privacy or to block sunlight.
5. No Soap - There was no soap.
6. Dinner - We did not ask for dinner. They served us dinner. They did not say they would charge us or show us a menu.
7. Owner - The next day the owner demanded MAD 450.00 for dinner. I felt threatened to pay.
Don’t let this hotel ruin your experience.
Morocco is great
- Jane (7/5): A little misleading to call it a chateau 😂 - Lovely staff although owner away but good communication via phone and housekeeper cooked a delicious meal. They also upgraded us to the suite room which was available. It felt a little bleak at first as we arrived on a cool cloudy day and it was tucked away in centre of town and I was expecting a lake view for some reason.
- Asdrúbal (9/5): Great location, comfortable and modern equipped room, with a friendly staff - Great location, comfortable and modern equipped room No heating in the room nor in the bathroom, it was a very cold night...
- Anaïs (10/5): Exceptional - Very specious, and beautiful, cozy room. Comfortable beds, we had the best night sleep in days! Extremely clean. Delicious food. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed here for a stopover between Merzouga and Meknes. Would definitely recommend!
- Nathan (7/5): Good - Nice upgrade because we were the only guest. Room and bathroom were very beautiful. It was quite cold inside and quite expensive compared to alternatives in the village. We only stayed one night because we were on transit.
- David (10/5): Wonderful place to stay and a wonderful area to explore. - From the moment we arrived, our hosts were there to help us in with our bags and took us to our big beautiful room with an enclosed porch and beautiful bathroom and shower. Their great hospitality, Hussein's and Mohamed's, continued through our two night stay. They cooked lovely dinners and breakfasts with wonderful fresh bread and omelets, coffee, juice and jams which we enjoyed in our room. Our hosts even provided provisions for the making of lunch when we took an afternoon hike at Mount Bab N-Ouayad which we ended up sharing with a sheppard we met and guided us up the mountain along with the omelet he cooked from his packing! (A long wonderful story!) Thank you Hussein, Mohamed and cook- And Aibase, our shepherd!
- Keltoum (10/5): We spend an unforgettable stay - Very confortable and clean hotel.
People are very friendly and professional All was great
- Simon (3/5): I would not return. - Good location for exploring the stunning area. It’s not finished, my room did not have a blind in the bathroom and was lacking unfinished. The food, dinner and breakfast were poor. I really did not like this establishment.
- Marina (8/5): Very good - Nice simple hotel in the mountains. The property is clean, well maintained, good local food. Great view from the rooftop. Friendly staff. The building and the rooms were cold. No heating inside the rooms. Limited heating in the common areas. No English for conversation.
- Spiller (10/5): Just a great experience. The host and team, the hotel, the setting, the views and the catering! - The entire experience was a delight. The host and his family were super friendly and the food par excellence! The hotel is new and full of character in a wonderful setting. Impossible to fault anything in the entire experience.
- Ophelie (7/5): Good overnight stop on your way to Dades or Fes / Meknes - Wonderful explanations about the local culture and legends by Mohamed over dinner. Location in a pretty beat up and remote village
- Laurent (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diane (8/5): Very good -
- Maxscrib (9/5): Great place to stay when crossing the High Atlas - Clear recommendation to stay once you are in Imilchil. This building and the very friendly owners are fantastic representatives of the High Atlas culture and the Morrocan hospitality. Our room was very spacious, clean and featured a magnificient view over the village and the surrounding mountains. Dinner and breakfast very tasty and held a variety of food. Bring warm clothes as it can get chilly up there.
