Guest Reviews
- Krysta (9/5): Perfect stay in Dubrovnik - Everything was perfect! The location was very convenient just outside the walls. The garden was beautiful and the kitchen had everything you may need! The hosts even left us some groceries!
- Chenggang (10/5): Best relocation and host. - Very close to the old town. The host was very responsive and helpful. They even provide basic groceries. The property has nice view. None
- Per (10/5): - Beliggenhed og indretning. Fantastisk flot sted.

- Liza (9/5): Very relaxing break in a spacious and attractive property convenient for the Old Town - We really liked this spacious and well appointed period property. We found the house very peaceful and private and loved the beautiful atmospheric garden, the conservatory/sitting room overlooking the garden and the roof terrace which has wonderful views of Dubrovnik Old Town and the Adriatic. The location is very convenient, around 10 minutes walk down a stone stairway to the Pile Gate. (I would say that this is preferable to staying in the Old Town itself as taxis can stop nearby making it easier for carrying luggage.) There is also a short walk up the mountain behind the property to a panoramic viewpoint over Dubrovnik. Our host was easy to contact and was responsive and helpful in dealing with our queries. It was not a problem in practice for our family group but the downstairs bedroom layout may not suit all visitors as it is necessary to walk through both bedrooms to reach the rooms on either side (ie kitchen, downstairs bathroom and conservatory.) The downstairs bedroom nearest the hallway has glass doors which can lack privacy and let in light from the hall so it would be better if these were solid doors as in the rest of the property.
- Ruth (10/5): Beautiful House - We stayed for a family holiday in August for nine nights. The host Hrvoje was exceptional and everything was provided from beach towels, dressing gowns to teas, coffee, butter, bread and cakes. The house was beautiful with so much history, which the owners had worked hard to keep the authentic feel of the property.
The garden was a real favourite, it was beautiful with orange, lemon trees, a very old hibiscus tree and a beautiful fountain in the middle, one family member said it reminded them of 'a garden of eden', there was plenty of seating and a table to eat outside also. The garden had an elevated terrace looking out over the old town walls which was stunning.
There is a convenient supermarket and bakery approximately a five minute walk and the old town could be accessed by steps or the bus which was located at the bottom of the steps to the house.
Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik Legacy accommodation was stunning and we would love to return and stay here again.
Huge Kudos to Hrvoje and his family for keeping the 17th century house in its original state with authentic artifacts around the house and garden, whilst still providing modern facilities, We LOVED it here.
- Caroline (10/5): Magic awaits at this stunning property - This may have been my most favorite lodging of all time! Imagine six people walking in and being completely surprised by how stunning the property is. It has magical views of the old town and the ocean beyond as well as comfortable places to relax both inside and outside. The house is very comfortable and easy to settle in with a family. The hosts were extremely accommodating and were great with communicating upfront everything we needed. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here. Thank you! We could have stayed much longer - we were sad to leave!
- William (10/5): Wonderful property and great experience.would highly recommend. - The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The location is perfect right next to the stairs into the old town. The host was very responsive and helpful. The room layout was a bit awkward.
- Gregory (10/5): - Excellent location just outside the walls of Dubrovnik, the lodging was well supplied with toiletries, towels, coffee, juice, cereal, bread and toppings for breakfast. Beautiful private garden and terrace. Good AC and free WiFi. Check-in and check-out was an easy experience.
- Sue (10/5): - Great location. Lovely to have some outdoor space. More mirrors in bedrooms.
- Kelly (10/5): Perfect place! Location is amazing and beautiful stay - It was magical there. The perfect place for thunderstorms and space with family to read. The owners were so thoughtful, leaving things to eat and use that you may have forgotten about. It was the only property that made my daughter run on and on about how amazing it was. Nothing
- Catanese (10/5): Croatian Charm - We had an absolutely fabulous stay at this vacation rental in Croatia! From the moment we arrived, our host made us feel welcome, even arranging for an early check-in, which was such a thoughtful touch after our travels. The house itself has so much authentic Croatian charm, and the view from the patio of Old Town and the Adriatic Sea is simply breathtaking — we never got tired of it!
The amenities were perfect for a stress-free stay. We really appreciated the food staples waiting for us — cereal, milk, coffee, and juice — as well as the basic toiletries provided. The only thing we ended up buying was conditioner (four girls spending 9 days in the sea could not survive without it!), so future guests might want to pack that just in case.
This home strikes the perfect balance of being close to everything you could want — restaurants, shops, and beaches — while still feeling like a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. We would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing vacation in Croatia. Thank you to our wonderful host for making our trip so memorable! The walk to old town was many stairs away but that couldn’t be avoided
- Amanda (9/5): Comfortable, charming, with beautiful outside - It is an absolutely wonderful location, just outside the wall but so close that you can just walk in in a few minutes. The air conditioning was fantastic so we were very comfortable. It is very spacious and we love the outside area, particularly the terrace with views of Dubrovnik. The kitchen was very well set up with lots of supplies and our host had given us everything we needed for breakfast and coffee and tea making! We made dinner for ourselves one night. It was also extremely clean and modern.
- Melissa (9/5): wonderful home in a fabulous location - The location is perfect, just outside the old town The gardens needed some attention
- Andrew (8/5): Comfortable villa with lovely garden above old town - Lovely house recent refurbishment with excellent bathrooms and AC mixed with period furniture. Stunning shady private garden with upper terrace looking down on the city walls, great for a sundowner. Beds and bedrooms very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped with even an icemaker. Very helpful and communicative owner, key safe entry. Supermarkets and bakery and a bar handy up the road. All the possibilities of the Old Town within easy walk. Good road 50m away with bus stop. You have to time walking back from town to not do the 217 steps in the heat.
- Carl (10/5): It was a wonderful place to stay. A/C worked well and so did the dryer. Hrvoje was super responsive and very helpf - Fantastic location Nothing
- Veronica (10/5): Perfect location, very comfortable - Big property with lots of space to stay comfortable which is not common in Europe.
The Host left us food and drinks for our first day which was a very kind gesture. Bathrooms completely renovated. We absolutely recommend it, in special for families or a big group.
- Kaisa (10/5): Simply excellent place to stay. Perhaps best was the evening terrace on the top of the garden wall. -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (9/5): Wonderful location and space - Great location, 10 minute walk into old town, view of the sea.
Very generous hosts - kitchen was fully equipped with essentials for breakfast and cooking. They were very responsive to text messages too.
Spotlessly clean, lots of towels, comfortable beds.
Only very minor negative was that the living room chairs needs updating.
Would definitely stay there again.
- Wallinger (10/5): Incredible home in a perfect location and an accommodating owner. - We had an amazing experience staying here. The location is perfect for access to Old Town and has a bus stop nearby. The owner was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, providing toys for our children, a Pack N’ Play for my youngest to sleep in, and groceries in the kitchen when we arrived (milk, honey, cereal, coffee, juice). The house is very nice and has a garden with orange and lemon trees, as well as a balcony overlooking the city. We plan to stay here again the next time we visit Dubrovnik.
- Elaine (10/5): An exceptional experience all the way around. It was a wonderful way to end our trip to Croatia. - While breakfast was not officially included the host kindly left coffee/tea, two types of fresh bread, butter, cereal, milk, sugar etc for us to make our own and enjoy outside in the garden. This home by the way is a historical gem. It was built in the 17th century and has been updated with all modern fixtures and amenities while maintaining its true charm and character. The location was exceptional literally overlooking the Great Wall of Old Dubrovnik. The grounds were spectacular with ancient vessels, wall sculptures and museum quality antiquities scattered about. The sitting areas had stunning views. Truly a very special home. Unfortunately, did not have time to explore the beaches, however, they looked absolutely amazing the water was crystal clear and glimmered with countless shades of aqua blue. So very inviting! Absolutely nothing. The host went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Could not have been kinder and more helpful.
- Majella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (10/5): Stunning and comfortable residence in an ideal location - Beautiful house with amazing atmosphere in a great location right by Pile Gate! We particularly enjoyed the gorgeous garden - it was the perfect sanctuary to have meals or relax after a day of sightseeing. Our host, Hrvoje made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. There were breakfast items waiting upon arrival plus they kindly allowed us to check out later. Absolutely recommend!
- Cynthia (10/5): Beautiful remodeled "palace" next to old town Dubrovnik - The location of this apartment is excellent. It is in an old palace which has been remodeled and everything is up to date. The grounds surrounding the house are beautiful and it has a rooftop area where you can sit and see the old town and the sea. It really exceeded my expectations. It even had a washing machine and dryer. It is a gem. Nothing
- Peggy (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. The host was so thoughtful to have morning essentials there for us. Milk, coffee, tea, butter, bread, orange juice and more.
- Alistair (10/5): Exceptional Property Close to the Old City - Wonderful character property with a stunning view from the elevated seating area. Exceptionally clean & really comfortable, and sufficient space for our group of six adults. The owners kindly made the accommodation available for an early check in and provided beach towels. There was also breakfast items, bread and milk for us on arrival. There is a great bakery 5-10 minutes walk away open from 0600, next to a mini mart.
The accommodation is located almost next to the old city walls which is ideal for exploring. There are plenty of steps to keep you fit! Nothing
- Fabiano (10/5): Dream trip - We have no words to describe the comfort, the house was beautiful and impeccable, the host left us some groceries such as bread, snacks, milk, coffee among other things for us to enjoy during our stay. Before the trip and during our stay he was always in contact to see if we were okay or if we needed anything. As we arrived in the morning he had already given us the key before the recommended time and to our happiness, we asked for an extra bed and he provided it at no additional cost. Amazing, I really recommend this house. Have to leave
- Ray (10/5): Exceptional - Large modern home with beautiful courtyard within walking distance of the old city. Great views of the city and wonderful host! Really enjoyed our stay in Dubrovnik! Highly recommend! Liked everything
- Ivan (9/5): Fantastic location and a great house - The location is excellent immediately outside of the old city. It is an actual house rather than an apartment with great facilities and Hrvoje had a stocked fridge, coffee, and some biscuits for the kids. Much appreciated Dubrovnik isn't a city for cars so make sure you plan out dropping off your luggage and finding a carpark close by
- Mark (10/5): 3 days. Close to old town - get there before the crowds. Also easy to get to port for day trip. - Perfect location. Great space. Outdoor area lovely.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nhung (10/5): Exceptional - Highly recommended. Everything is perfect. The house is being well prepared with all necessary stuffs for our stays (4 nights). Definitely will come back here if we travelled back to Dubrovnik. Nothing
- Patrick (9/5): Superb - location, security, roominess, cold a/c, kitchen with appliances and some food / drink provided. washer and dryer. t.v. room was not air conditioned.
- Sra (10/5): Exceptional - No problem
- Tianpei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greta (10/5): Exceptional - Everything😊
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional - We had the best experience with our 2 nights stay at Dubrovnik Legacy. Hrvoje was so accommodating for our group of 6!
He bought us an American coffee pot because I mentioned how much we love coffee. He also let us leave our bags a couple of hours earlier than check in so we could explore without them. The place was clean and the outdoor space gave us privacy and a place to relax. I highly recommend staying in this lovely home!!
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional - Location is perfect; you can park your car in the garage near the house within 5 min walk and the old city center is within 3 min walk.
Cleanliness was spot on, same as comfort; attention to details was commendable. House provides superb privacy aswell and it's well isolated from the noisy street. Communication with the owner was great aswell. Highly recommended!
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
