Guest Reviews
- Lauren (9/5): Excellent time - Beautifully kept and in a great location. Restaurant next door was brilliant, staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and brilliant little touches. Loved having a little garden as well!
- Lacey (10/5): Charming - We loved the whole set up. Our rooms were so sweet and the staff that brought us breakfast were so warm and full of hospitality. It’s a unique place, having to walk through the patio part of the restaurant, but we loved it! The bathroom vent in my room needed a VERY good cleaning.

- Øystein (9/5): Highly recommended - Fantastic breakfast and excellent service.
- Julie (10/5): - Everything was well thought out, felt quaint yet luxurious, the breakfast table was so pretty with great options. Check-in was simple, the property was quiet at night, and we had a good mattress. The owner, Sarah, was very friendly and nice to chat with.
- David (9/5): - Superb choice for breakfast and great quality Noise from room above echoed through the floorboards

- Camp (10/5): Gorgeous start to Cotswold way - The Woolmarket house was a perfect start point for our journey on the Cotswold way. The start point is literally outside the front door. The breakfast was phenomenal and the room was quaint and so lovely. Would totally recommend staying.
- Linn Tove (9/5): -
- Paul (7/5): - breakfast was excellent// watch out for all those stairs
- Letizia (10/5): - Colazione superlativa. Camera ottima e servizio accoglienza altrettanto per il check in

- Mishel (10/5): We absolutely loved our room, so clean, comfortable and beautiful. The breakfast was amazing too, staff were so polite - Stunning room in a perfect location Everything was perfect
- Baden (3/5): Wonderful room, ruined for us, by the noise. - Breakfast was excellent. Room very stylish and comfortable, in principle. Unfortunately downstairs room is situated right next to the neighbouring restaurant's covered outside seating area. This can be very noisy with chatter, and music from the speakers.
- Anne (9/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): An excellent B&B in an excellent location - thoroughly recommended. - Woolmarket House is in an excellent location in Chipping Campden high street, with free parking nearby. The business consists of a B&B and a Mediterranean restaurant, which is a great combination. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bed was a bit soft for me - if you like a firm mattress, check with the staff before booking.
- Tom (10/5): Excellent location and cozy place to stay. - As central a location as you can get. I liked everything.
- Dennis (8/5): Ticked most of the boxes. - Ideal. Local and very accommodating Booked to have the bath in the room. Although the shower was large and powerful.
- Mark (9/5): very enjoyable , lovely place - breakfast was amazing , Sarah couldnt do enough for us
- Daniel (7/5): Fantastic place, but just be careful which room you book! - Great location, staff and facilities. We will be back, but… It’s the second time we’ve stayed (the first being 5 years ago) and we hadn’t realised that the room booked this time was above the restaurant. There is also a bedroom above. It’s a very noisy room as a result, so not incredibly relaxing.

- James (10/5): Wonderful find in Chipping Campden - The whole stay was absolutely wonderful. The owner and staff are great, the bed and the whole room were excellent, breakfast was top notch, the location in Campden was perfect. Street parking was plentiful at least in March when we went. We can't wait to return. The only thing we didn't love was having to leave.
- Chris (10/5): A wonderful stay in charming Accommodation - We loved the whole experience, the room was fabulous, it had a small patio area outside which we did use even though it was quite chilly being March, the bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and spacious and had nice touches included like cake, the coffee machine was good, the bathroom was lovely with a heated floor. the bath in the room was not to our taste but it looked lovely ands I'm sure would be fun if you like that sort of thing.
We decided to have our breakfast in our room and it was delivered bang on time and was delicious.
We ate dinner at Michaels Mediterranean restaurant which is connected to the rooms and that was wonderful as well.
All in all the whole experience was wonderful. we will return in the future. Nothing really
- Victoria (10/5): Perfect place to stay in the heart of Chipping Campden. We had a wonderful stay. - Woolmarket House was absolutely the perfect place to stay. Situated on the high street in the heart of Chipping Campden, it gave us chance to see everywhere and enjoy the scenery outside of our window. The room was stunning and exceptionally clean with everything we needed. The instructions on finding our room and the goodies left were a lovely touch and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. We ordered it for 9am to our room and it arrived hot with all the extras at exactly 9am. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
Thank you for making our stay so perfect. We will definitely be back!
- Rina (9/5): Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Would highly recommend. - Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious with the option of room service which was ideal for us. Location is superb, with free on street parking and a good variety of good quality restaurants and pubs. Heating in the room was temperamental but the hotel are aware of this and in the process of trying to resolve it so I expect it to be a short term problem. Electric heaters were available in the room as a back up if required.
- Karen (10/5): Great location for an overnight stay! - Very clean and comfy room, lovely underfloor heating and shower. Bit of cake on arrival and excellent breakfast.
- Kobylkina (10/5): The breakfast was absolutely exceptional, truly something special. And the restaurant is wonderful as well — a perfect p - Beautiful rooms, everything is very well maintained and the whole property is simply stunning. The staff were extremely kind and helpful — they warmly welcomed us and helped change everything we needed without any problem.
- glenn (10/5): -
- Mike (10/5): 10/10 - Everything N/A
- Andrew (10/5): 5 star - Everything was 5 star It was fantastic
- Simon (10/5): -
- Leslie (9/5): Cozy in the Cotswolds - The breakfast was fabulous. It is just a separate six bedroom building with no common area and complicated entry behind a restaurant.
- Duncan (10/5): - Location excellent, warm welcome, breakfast superb
- Alexandra (10/5): -
- Carole (10/5): Had a fabulous stay. - Great options for the breakfast and served in the room, which felt so luxurious. Room was beautiful, we loved the private patio. Very central in Chipping Camden, parking was easy to get.
- Steven (10/5): We didn't want to leave - Fantastic breakfast, great central location and a gorgeous room
- Martin (10/5): -
- Aisling (10/5): Amazing accommodation, outstanding breakfast. - A fabulous property in the centre of Chipping Campden. A beautiful bedroom in a very pretty Cotswold village. Great options for food and drink nearby. Close to beautiful gardens and villages. Friendly staff and a truly delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend. Nothing.
- Ian (10/5): - Breakfast amazing
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Hannah (10/5): -
- Ben (9/5): 100% recommend. - Great location in a typical Cotswold village. If you are not from the Cotswolds / UK and aren’t sure where to base yourself, Chipping Camden ticks all the boxes and you will be at most an hour away from other popular Cotswold villages and points of interest. The Woolmarket B&B itself is on the Main Street and accessed via a passageway next to Michael’s restaurant. The building is lovely and although has been restored/updated, really does a great job of keeping the rustic and traditional Cotswold vibe, as well as having tonnes of original features which keeps the history of the building. We were in the Chasleton room which had a massive (no longer in use) furnace/fireplace which I assume was an original feature.
The breakfast in the morning which we could select to have brought to our room was genuinely 10/10. The food itself was perfect and the staff couldn’t have done a better job and were very friendly and professional. This is not a dislike as didn’t bother us, but perhaps something to be aware of is that Michaels restaurant has an outdoor terrace area which is also where you access the B&B from and our room on the bottom floor was literally adjacent to this, however, the room windows are frosted and there is plenty of blinds/curtains and decorations in the terrace that means it is impossible for anyone eating at the restaurant to see into the room BUT it did get a bit noisy. Again, it didn’t bother us really but if you were looking to get an early night (I.e before 10pm) and it was busy in the terrace you may find it a bit disruptive. After 10pm when staff were cleaning up there was quite a lot of noise, mostly glass bottles etc being cleaned up/recycled, which I do feel perhaps something could be done about - it’s difficult as it’s no-one’s fault and I think overall having the restaurant so close is a positive (we ate there one night and definitely recommend!) but it is quite an unusual setup.
- Simon (9/5): Excellent - Grey location in centre of town Nothing
- lisa (4/5): Lovely, could be even better. - Locatiion , breakfast was amazing!
Welcome drink and cake was thoughtful.
The owner politely acknowledging the problems with cleaning and staff workload prior to Christmas. However we would need to return again to receive any compensation. Room wasn’t cleaned well. Very dusty for asthmatics - headboards, lights, skirtings etc. affected our next day, cut our vacation short.
There is no blind in the bathroom. You are fully on show to neighbouring properties when showering or washing.
- Guy (9/5): Beautiful quintessential English B&B, would stay again - Well maintained in a beautiful old property. The bed was 2 singles joined together (we booked a double) and the join was not seamless so was really 2
Single beds. Also, as this is not a hotel, there were not enough milk ’thingies’ for more than a couple of cups of tea. We like a cup of tea or two and so between us we could only have 1 cup each.
- Barbara (9/5): Charming B&B in a perfect Cotswolds village location - Excellent location beautifully presented room with an excellent breakfast delivered to the room Being located on the ground floor you could hear voices from the outside terrace although they left after 10.30
- Claire (10/5): Idyllic retreat in the Cotswolds. - Everything! Totally unique and unexpected gem. The accommodation was great and wonderful restaurant food delivered to the room was a surprise bonus. Nothing.
- Marion (7/5): - Tout sauf l’accès à la guest house derrière un restaurant qui donne dans une allée très sombre , avec des poubelles , pas très class !
Le restaurant est d’ailleurs très très mauvais ( moussaka
immangeable ) Voir ci dessus
- David (9/5): Lovely stay great location - The location was excellent, the bed was comfortable Bathroom and shower was very modern and a good size. Breakfast was nice and arrived on time. Staff friendly. No real concerns however some slight improvements to the room we stayed in. Heating wasn't great but staff were aware of this and a portable heater was already in place. The table in the room was wobbly which could cause issues for guests eating breakfast in the room. Bathroom taps took a bit of adjusting to work out how to get it to run cold water, bit temperamental. These are very minor things and did not affect our stay at all but more points for the owners.
- Jeff (9/5): -
- Emma (9/5): -
- Harriet (9/5): Cute Cotswolds getaway - Breakfast was 10/10 and the room was absolutely beautiful, so cute and romantic. Really luxurious touches like big coffee and tea selection, heated floor in bathroom and robes! Wish we had some warning about the noise from the restaurant as people were sat literally right next to our window and it was pretty noisy until about 1030/11pm with music and general restaurant noise. Also can hear tables and chairs and footsteps right above us in the dining room from 0730am . I think if you avoid the ground floor you would have a perfect stay!!
- John Christopher (10/5): -
- lee (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Alison (9/5): The only thing missing was a bath in our room, but otherwise perfect in every other way! -
- Jonathan (8/5): - Lovely room with beautiful old fireplace and comfy bed The Terrace was covered and sweaty
- Ben (10/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Johnny (10/5): Beautiful warm welcoming. It was a joy to stay in this incredible property everything was 5 star thanks so much - A very beautiful property with some fantastic memories
- Sofia (9/5): - Friendly staff, nice rooms with nice touches, tasty breakfast. Decoration, location and service were excellent The room was not throughly cleaned.
- craig (10/5): -
- elena (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Delightful! - We loved everything about our stay at Woolmarket House. The room was perfect - charming and comfortable. Breakfast, which was served in a lovely dining area, was delicious and ample. Sarah was warm and a wonderful help with suggestions of what to see in the area. Eating dinner in the restaurant below is a must. We would recommend this to anyone.
- Gustavo (8/5): -
- Brett (10/5): -
- Andy (10/5): Fantastic, Room superb and staff really friendly - Absolutely everything.. superb Nothing
- Richard (10/5): Perfect Anniversary Night Stay - Everything! Our room was beautiful, excellent location, could not fault a thing!
- Edward (9/5): - Great location. Easy access. Staff - fantastic. Breakfast wonderful. The room description could be more specific about being at the top of steep steps and that the bathroom has a bath tub and hand held shower.
- Jacqui (10/5): It was a beautiful place nice touches lovely people - Beautiful comfortable lovely touches Nothing
- Jayne (8/5): Absolutely lovely - Lovely stay, the food and service was great The breakfast area outside
- Graeme (10/5): Cosy and welcoming - Stunning Room
- tracey (10/5): Amazing B&B - Fabulous rooms and amazing food and service Nothing
- Jenna (9/5): Perfect - Amazing stay cosy clean and breakfast was perfect
- Kevin (9/5): -
- Courtney (10/5): - I would absolutely recommend the Woolmarket House to anyone staying in Chipping Campden. It has all the charm of a 16th century home with the conveniences and cleanliness of a high-end hotel.
- david (10/5): - Excellent period building, lovingly restored.
Room fantastic beautiful bath in room. Breakfast was well worth getting up for.
Definitely stop here again, host superb.
- Shaun (9/5): A memorable stay in a lovely town - The room was large and tastefully decorated. There were excellent amenities which made it a pleasure to stay.Contactless check in was smooth. A memorable experience to stay here. Nothing
- James (10/5): Lovely boutique experience. Amazing breakfast and hosts. Also great restaurant next door/underneath. - Clean and stylish lovely hosts. NA
- Juliette A (8/5): Lovely stay, lovely place. - Location, lovely bedroom and quiet atmosphere. We would have love to have breakfast in our bedroom as we have written down, and left a note the night before, but we realised that no one was gonna come next morning, so we had rush to get to the breakfast area before living the hotel. That was a bit disappointing.
Everything else was great.
- sue (9/5): - Breakfast was awesome Room was over restaurant and so it was a little noisy until the restaurant closed
- Mark (10/5): Very enjoyable, great breakfast, friendly staff - Very comfortable and well appointed
- Steve (10/5): - A real gem! The owner and staff were so warm and accommodating, with great local tips. Breakfasts were excellent, and the hotel is beautifully furnished with lovely extras in the room — tea and coffee tray, glasses, even fruit cake and cookies. We loved our stay— highly recommend!
- Denise (10/5): - Room was spacious and beautiful, and the breakfast was exceptional.
- Ada Bird (7/5): Good service, not as pretty as pictures - The breakfast was large and good. The bed was very comfortable and the towels large. Everything was very clean. They left cookies, cake and candy for us and had nice soap and shampoo. All the staff were lovely. They helped us with our bags and were very solicitous for our comfort. The hotel was above an affliated restaurant. When we arrived, there was a strong smell of fried potatoes throughout the premises. There was no smell in our room but I had to close the window at night because of conversations from the dining terrace. The rooms looked so pretty on the website but in person a bit tired. So I was disappointed.
- Naor (10/5): - We enjoyed every moment – the pleasant atmosphere, the attention to detail, the perfect room, and the delightful breakfast. What stood out most was the breakfast team, who were attentive, cheerful, and genuinely eager to help. We are already excited about our next visit here.
- KATHLEEN (8/5): Most enjoyable - The breakfast was well cooked and hot on delivery. The location was very central and most suitable for us. Nothing that we can think of.
- joanne (10/5): Excellent stay - Room was lovely and the breakfast was outstanding No reception as such, but the little personal touches in the room made up for it
- Elaine (10/5): This was a memorable stay and one I would definitely do again. - Beautiful, clean, comfortable, with everything we needed and more. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were generous and delicious.
- Jutta (9/5): -
- Saeko (9/5): We had a truly wonderful stay. - The approach to the building looked a bit untidy, which made me feel uncertain at first. However, once we stepped into the room, it was beautifully decorated with great character. The pound cake and chocolates provided in the room were delicious, and having an espresso in the room made our stay very comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent as well -freshly prepared and plentiful.
All the facilities including bathroom were a real pleasure to use.
In the evening, we dined at the Greek restaurant located in the same building, which I believe is run by the same owner. The food there was outstanding, and even my usually picky child ate with great appetite. The approach to the building entrance looked a bit untidy.
Although there were two keys on the key ring, we weren't sure what the second key was for. We initially thought the second key would allow us to enter the building, but it didn't, so we had to enter the code every time, which was a bit inconvenient. It would have been helpful if a key for the building entrance had been provided after check-in.
- Richard (7/5): - The breakfast was great, the hostess was lovely very accomodating. Food wss amazing tips on local activities were very welcome. The windows of our ground floor room looked onto the restraunt and formed a wall. We had dinner sitting against our windows. Our room was noisy until 10pm with diners chatting and music playing. The room itself was very comfortable although a bit hot. Visitors should be made aware before booking that they are vitually in a restraunt until 10pm.. The restraunt is average the food tastless they need to add some flavour and spices, staff are pompous.
- John (10/5): Lovely - It was a lovely place to stay for 1 nite Location
- Francesca (10/5): - Lovely place located in the centre of Chipping Campden. Excellent breakfast, plentiful and with fresh products. Impeccable cleanliness
