Guest Reviews
- David (5/5): Convient - Close to the show grounds ! Bathrooms were quite dirty and needs fixing up
- Deb (3/5): Poor - Pub was good, staff good, food good. Noisy ++++ from other guests.
TV didn't work.
Half the toilets and showers were not operational.
- Hayley (8/5): Very good -
- Bethelia (10/5): Exceptional - The bed Air con didn't work
- Michael (6/5): Good for a quick stop if one is not fussy - Bed and showers were effective and good is the best I can say Room is quite spartan and the shared bathroom as expected for a hotel, no easy access from car park, communal kitchen was grotty and cockroaches were seen at times
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Silas (7/5): Good -
- Oliver (5/5): Convenient but expected for the price - The room was comfortable Being woken up in the middle of the night by other inconsiderate noisy guests. There wasn’t much to do in terms of innisfail itself. And didn’t feel secure or at home really.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Barley (8/5): Very good -
- Shanae (2/5): Disgusting - Food was good Facilities were dirty i did not even want to shower or use the toilet.
Their were white stains on my bedding, very dirty smell in the room, found a used condom under the bed, and to top it off when I used the tap in the room the water doesn't stay in the sink it flys out all over the place.
I'm writing this review for my brother, who is a military personal, and he was utterly disgusted and said he would never go back their.
- James (5/5): Passable -
- Minniecon (8/5): Very good -
- Monwell (10/5): Exceptional - Staying at an old pub was the experience Could of stayed for a week
- Neal (7/5): Good -
- Nanayakkara (1/5): Bad -

The place is budget but very good Nothing very good hotel
- Monica (3/5): Poor -
- Enadie (10/5): Exceptional - It's was very nice quiet place area and all staff are very good
- Kalo (4/5): Disappointing -
- Enadie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giuliana (3/5): Didn’t even slept there because it was greasy and smelt like standing next to an old fryer. - Friendly staff Felt like in a fryer.
- Suzanne (8/5): Very good -
- Kaina (7/5): Good place to stay a night - Clean place and comfortable beds No wifi
- Minniecon (10/5): Exceptional - Cheap clean rooms
- Anne (10/5): Good little place to stay with friendly staff. - The staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing great value for money.
- Hamish (4/5): disappointing. Had potential. - friendly staff, nice atmosphere My room had been double booked. Given an alternate room. Bed was broken and drooping. Window slats were missing. No remote was present for television (wanted to watch football).
- Charlie (4/5): Disappointing - Nice to have a big bed and a sink and fridge in the room It was advertised to have a kitchen or kitchenette which was very annoying it didn't, there was no wifi, and there was 1 shower shared between our whole level. It was a bit noisy and generally unkempt in some areas. It was fairly expensive for what I got really
- Mayne (9/5): Superb - The meals and peace Smoking area needs to be away from the dinning area from outside.
- David (7/5): Good price and good location - Convenient for our stay. Just basic room but it’s a pub. Room clean and quiet. Hot shower - worked for us.
- Matthew (10/5): Matty Anderson - Everything Nothing
- Peter (6/5): Old but with a certain charm -
- Wayne (5/5): Average - Clean sheets/room. The shared bathroom/shower/toilet has only one combined door so you have to lock out others to use it - otherwise people can walk past you on the toilet or using the shower ... no shower curtain or door to the toilet. The stairs have cobwebs and the door lock was loose and questionable. Is over priced for the facility. Noise at night ... trains and trucks was noticeable
- Donald (6/5): Value for money, has only 1st floor accommodation. - Location and economical.
- Barley (7/5): Good -
- Margaret (6/5): What I expected with clean facilities but basic - Cost and friendly staff Train noise in the night once
- Sigrid (3/5): Cheap, hot showers, ample free parking out back. But noisy as next to main road, dirty kitchen and no utensils, and had - In town, cheap, lots of free parking out back, hot showers -Noisy as next to main road
-Dirty kitchen and no utensils
-Poor sleep as staff didn’t change the smoke alarm battery when informed of beeping as battery was low, so it beeped all night
- Jetty (10/5): I am still looking for job - It's very good and quite for rest I like to live for six months here
- Brian (4/5): We will not be coming back ! - Clean sheets. Friendly staff. A cockroach problem in the room ,in the fridge ,on the sink , dirty carpet , dirty bar fridge . The accommodation entrance was grotty & uninviting ! The kitchen also had many small cockroaches, on walls , benches & over crockery !!! Fridge was unpleasant to say the least. The freezer worked. Not coming
- Arthur (5/5): Passable -
- Jacinta (5/5): Passable - Location The shared bathrooms and kitchen
- Josua (1/5): Pathetic - Old and dusty, cob webs everywhere, bugs on the bed. smelly sheets and damp smells. Everything about the stay was very uncomfortable
- Giorgia (7/5): Good -
- Fleur (4/5): Thankfully got a refund. Wouldn’t recommend for backpackers. - The location was in the centre and the staff let us cancel the remaining two nights. As two young women we didn’t feel comfortable here. It was above a pub, which is fine, but it wasn’t very clean. We felt unsafe after being accused of stealing somebody’s pasta. We were also warned to be careful about other residents living there, which felt a bit dodgy. There was no wifi for guests and the service wasn’t good. There was also dirty pants in the sink.
- Megumi (3/5): Poor - Their website said this, ".The serviced rooms are newly renovated with Air Conditioning, Television, and Fridges" but, the air conditioning did not work at all and could not be used as there was no TV connection cord.
I would like some money back as I did not have access to adequate facilities
- Genevieve (1/5): Bad - The food was good. Staff nice. The room was smelly and springs sticking out of the mattress. No aircon remote so couldn't adjust temperature or speed. Carpet was gross.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Euan (3/5): Poor -
- Michael (3/5): Give it a miss. - Fridge in the room is convenient. Aircon is cold. Good security. Good restaurant. I normally like staying in small town pubs. I can highly recommend Mareeba and Mossman. But unfortunately the Goondi is well past its due date.
$90 per night is a crazy price for this establishment, though I note that Innisfail hotels are stupidly expensive.
Carpets had years of grease and grime embedded in them. I didn't feel hygienic walking bare foot. Sheets were not very clean. Shared bathroom facilities were not cleaned the whole three days I stayed. Shower fluctuated between cold and scorching hot.
Other annoying issues, glass window with light streaming through it all night. No wifi. No power point near bed.
It's sad to see the demise of old country pubs.
- Paula (2/5): Very poor -
- Kevin (7/5): Nice and comfortable - Nice and central. Good meals. Comfortable room. Ensuite would be great
- Shreya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ken (10/5): Exceptional -

- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Poppy (7/5): Good -
- Hill (5/5): Very basic but I've stayed in far worse. - The bed was comfortable. Dripping sink pipe into bucket making it difficult to sleep. Fix the leak, not just stick a bucket under it. Dead 🪳 on the floor. No remote for the TV. Only one set of power points to charge phone etc. No bedside lamp as no power points.
- Erin (10/5): Very nice place to stay - The meals were excellent, friendly staff Nil
- Latu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Conroy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carmel (3/5): Poor -
- Men-air04 (8/5): Very good -
- Troy (2/5): Not worth the money - Room lock was barely lockable , no knob/handle/anything on toilet door in bistro just the door no way to secure , toilets showers were very average. Ceiling falling down in places in room
- Simon (1/5): Bad - Nothing If you to stay somewhere, that feels like a homeless shelter. It's great.
Just DON'T
- David (7/5): Comfortable - Convenient location! Nil
- Alecia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Amy (3/5): Poor - The room smelled strongly of mould, the fan was covered in dust so couldn’t use it, the walls were paper thin (and windows all had to be open due to mould) so the thundering traffic outside was loud enough to drown out any conversation and difficult to sleep through.
- Jd (7/5): Good -
- Taileen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Viliame (8/5): Very good -
- Doug (3/5): Poor - A bed,ok.A sink,in the room.Very old pub.
- June (7/5): Good - Price was good to tide us thru a difficult time
Place was clean altho old. Lots of cobwebs everywhere.
Bed linnen could have been better.
- Jessica (2/5): On the second night the receptionist was unclear of events so I again returned to Cairns. - NA Could not contact the hotel for a late arrival and when I arrived the place was in darkness. I had to return to Cairns for accommodation, so stayed in Cairns both nights.

- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- Will (8/5): Very good -
- Sean (7/5): Good -
- Ina (1/5): Worst experience ever! I will discourage a yone from staying there. - nothing Dirty. Dead cockroaches under bed. Spiders & webs on ceiling & walls. Bar fridges freezer had spills frozen in it. Communal toilets were dirty with no paper. Staff were not overly welcoming. Myself & my Brother have bed sores? We have red welts on our bodies. We also had belongings stolen during the night. I have messaged the property wanting a refund.
