Guest Reviews
- Stephan (9/5): - A typical little Onsen Ryokan with a lot of charme and a nice Rotenburo. Located in a somewhat remote hamlet but the train station is not too far away. Some areas could use a bit of repair / renovation.
- jutte (8/5): - Een ruime kamer.. mooi interoeur.

- Piros (5/5): - A fürdő A tisztaság, a szakadt/ ragasztott rizspapir ablak

- Madeleine (8/5): Quiet stay outside of Nikko - A nice and A nice and quiet hotel about 40 minutes drive from Nikko. The first evening and morning we had our meals at the hotel which were amazing. The only downside was that they didn’t offer a vegetarian version which meant that we had to leave some of the food ( we tried to make it clear prior to arriving, but vegetarian was simply no option).
The entrance to the hotel is beautiful and the rooms large. The bathrooms need some updating though. The onsen was nice but they do need to do some mould control on walls and ceiling.
We stayed for four nights and there was no room service, which we didn’t mind.
The hotel is in a nice little hamlet but we didn’t explore it. We did find a very nice little restaurant about 10 minutes walk.
- Anitra (7/5): Zimmer japanisch eingerichtet.
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Erwin (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful. - It was relaxing and beautiful. The stay were very welcoming and kind
- Ivo (7/5): - Lovely tatami rooms and relaxing onsen Everything was old in an abandoned and damaged way. The toilet in the room was loose, the roof in the onsen was mouldy and leaking, and the staff didn’t really speak Japanese.

- Ines (7/5): Budget friendly stay with nice Onsen - The onsen is nice and they offer many washing and beauty products. The lounge area is also nice with the view on the garden between the buildings. The whole building, but especially our toilet and some areas in the main building need renovation. Our toilet smelled moldy and you could see some moldy areas here and there. The sleeping area was fine tho.

- Raf (10/5): Very nice experience overall! Beautiful Japanese Ryokan in a quiet village outside Nikko. - Very friendly people, good level of English.
Place was very neat and enjoyable. If I had to say one thing, it would be the cleanliness of the onsen. Still very enjoyable onsen but the walls and ceiling were dirty and a lot of duct tape, also some bigger insects inside.

- Audrey (10/5): -
- Samuel (8/5): - A comfortable, quiet, and quant little ryokan. The property is beautiful. The staff incredibly friendly and one of the most comfortable ryokans I’ve stayed in.
- Craig (7/5): - The room was very spacious and set up like a traditional Ryokan with mat flooring and futon beds which was why we booked. The onsens were good but could do with a good clean of the walls, windows and ceilings. Overall we had a relaxing couple of days wandering along the river banks and parklands. There was a mixup and they did not have us as having the meal package so we had to source our own meals with very limited options in the township - a local convenience store and a single ramen restaurant.
Unfortunately many of the other establishments and hotels in the town have been abandoned for many years and this makes for a rather depressing environment, but one can only imagine how busy it would have been in it's heyday.
- Mee Nyuk Judith (7/5): A Beautiful Zen Garden Hotel - The lobby was the most interesting place. There was a beautiful pond with a sakura tree and a maple tree. When the wind blew, the petals from the sakura tree sheds its petals into the pond. It was mesmerising! I was told our dinner and breakfast meals were not recorded even though I had already sent via email our confirmation to reserve our meals booking. I even showed the email to the reception check- in staff. Luckily we drove so we were able to enjoy our excellent dinner in a small eatery just about 5 min drive away.

- Martínez (5/5): - El onsen es súper bonito La limpieza no era demasiado buena, no estaba bien cuidado, había muchos detalles viejos y rotos.
- Khaliungoo (7/5): -
- David (10/5): - Super je recommande vivement ce logement
- Vy (8/5): Overall, it's good for the value. - The receptionist is super supportive. The cushion was nice, with a big room with efficient amenities. It's quite far away from the main tourist attraction, which is Nikko National Park.
- Sylwia (7/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): -
- Maite (10/5): Do not overthink it, book a room here for at least two nights! - Everything was amazing, out of a dream.
The lady at reception/restaurant works sooo hard! She is always busy and she deserves a medal for carrying the whole hotel at her shoulders.
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms very spacious and japanese. There are kimonos to wear around the hotel and going to the onsen which are amazing. Got lucky to be alone in them the three times I went.
The food is delicious and so well taken care of with amazing attention to detail .
I even bought shampoo and facial cream from their counter as I tried it in the onsen and couldn’t believe the waves my hair got!
Totally recommended, get the breakfast and dinner plan. Is totally worth it. Everything was great.
- Johann Emilian (10/5): -
- Todor (7/5): Great value for money - In general is fine, great morning cafe place and small lake. In the mountains so good for sleep The bed and pillow were hard, its old hotel but clean. Don’t expect much. The onsen was tooooo hot we couldn’t enter
- Cattus_Hillarus (7/5): Nice place, but I would recommend a better communication - The Ryokan itself was very nice and cozy, the pools are a great addition. Room was spacious, clean and warm We booked the place expecting to have a breakfast included, however in the morning I spent some time looking for anyone from the staff, only to learn that we should have notified them up front if we want the breakfast. There was no option to get anything to eat in the morning as the place is located in the middle of nowhere and the only local shop was opening after our train's departure time.
- YUSUKE (6/5): -
- Sara (9/5): Authentic, relaxing, quiet. - The open air hot springs, the traditional Japanese room and bed, and the hall with the pond and the beautiful trees. Another thing I loved about this place was the silence. There was free coffee (which is wonderful), but I suggest making it a bit stronger :D

- MTravelGo (8/5): Nice traditional japanese hotel, quite far located - The traditional japanese aesthetic was superb, the kaiseki dinner and breakfast really good, and the onsen 10/10 The location is quite remote, without a car you really need to watch out for train schedules, as only 2 per day run through. A bit old in the decoration of the hotel.
- Ajay (9/5): Wonderful hotel and staff, feels like an expensive hotel for a good price. - Excellent service, very quick and responsive. The main woman working was extremely kind, understood multiple languages, worked quickly and effectively. The amount of effort she puts in was apparent and she seemed to handle everything expertly. Hotel itself was beautiful, and the dinner and breakfast are very fun experiences. Some wear like small tears in the paper screens, but nothing large and items that were you to replace would likely show just show age again very quickly through normal use by patrons. Location is a bit difficult if you are hoping for a wide variety of restaurants and shops, but I believe the seclusion is large part of the appeal.
- Lucila (8/5): Authentic Japanese experience in a tranquil Onsen town - Common areas look stunning. The Onsen areas were great. I enjoyed the open air bath a lot. Needs a bit more maintenance in the rooms, but overall it was great. It’s also a bit further away so ideally you’d need a car given that the trains are not very frequent.

- Tsunghui (8/5): Quiet and relaxing - Lovely hotel in the mountains. Public baths were amazing. Hotel lobby and the entrance looked wonderful and newly renovated, but the rooms were a bit older and under maintained. However, the staff were amazing, very friendly and attending. We ordered dinner and breakfast and it was a great experience. It’s a bit inconvenient in such a remote area. But if you are looking for a quiet vacation, this could be it.
- Denys (8/5): -
- Karen (9/5): Relaxed, feed, enjoyable stay! I would come and stay again! - I stayed in Japanese futon room- it was very nice and comfortable -Love the interior!
The restaurant is located next to the Japanese garden courtyard, nice view for dinner and breakfast. It has an outdoor and indoor Onsen to relax. The reception lady very helpful& informative. Morning Onsen was not hot enough when it switch. The staff did informed me. Otherwise everything else was great!
- Taryssa (10/5): Beautiful, clean and spacious - Absolutely beautiful, clean and spacious. I came to Nikko as a day trip from Tokyo but I didn’t plan my trains well and had to find a place to stay overnight on short notice. The room was huge, and had multiple areas to sit and relax which i absolutely loved, especially after being cramped up in Tokyo all week. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Despite me not planning an overnight stay I was incredibly comfortable. They had everything, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, face lotion, hair masks, you name it. They had more beauty products then I normally carry with me, it was incredible. The staff informed me that I was able to use the public bath even tho I have tattoos. The bath was peaceful and serene, and it was so quiet there was no one bathing at the same time as me so i had the whole bath to myself. I loved the open air bath, especially on a chilly night, it was refreshing! my whole stay was easy and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and polite. Next time I visit Japan, I will come back here and stay for longer. And he train station is within walking distance! I didn’t get try the food because i was in a rush to get back, but I saw people eating and it looked divine. This place was such a hidden gem, I wish I could’ve stayed instead of going back to Tokyo. No notes. This place was lovely!

- Mikhail (8/5): - Very spacious and comfortable traditional style room, clear communications with the hotel. Location is alright, just look at the map and not at the name. Absolutely lovely and helpful staff. The hotel is not new, and it starts to show.
- francois (9/5): Ryokan, calme, osen et cuisine japonaise - ryokan traditionnel, excellente cuisine, ambiance relaxante
- Dmitriy (10/5): - The staff are very professional, friendly, and always willing to help (10/10).
The lobby and the Japanese garden are amazing.
- Kerrie (8/5): Very helpful young woman who worked on reception and in the restaurant. - Food & service were great. It was a little bit difficult to get to the venue with public transport. Once we hired a car it was fine. There was plenty of free parking.
- Björn (7/5): -
- Patrick (8/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Laurence (8/5): Beau site, reposant! - Beau jardin, beau Site!
Traditioneel Japans.
