- MA (10/5): Loved it and wil come back always ! - What not to like about it !
The photos on the site are actual. Located in a beautiful area called Wynberg which is a very posh safe area of Cape Town. The unit - fully fledged kitchen with every facility you could need, lovely bedroom with a comfortable bed and writing table and chair, bathroom with all toiletries and hot water in plenty!
It is situated at the back of a big house. Has a little side entrance and a dream like outside sitting area with a barbecue station.
The house is at the dead end of a lane and so the parking of our rental car outside was very safe.
We stayed for 7 days and linen was completely changed on the 4th day. The skylights in each of the rooms - kitchen, bedroom and bathroom is a masterpiece, bringing in natural light.
The place was spotlessly clean, and I mean spotlessly clean when we entered it.
If we do ever go back to Cape Town, it will be our preferred place of stay. There was nothing not to like, and so this is only a suggestion to the owners.
To improve the WiFi strength.
To change the functioning of the tap in the bathroom sink and make it a mixer rather than the present 2 taps with one for hot and one for cold. It is a little inconvenient as well as dangerous. Both my wife and I scalded our hands with the hot water tap without realising it ! But no worries.
- Jihaan (9/5): - Everything was just perfect. Very plain and simple. The only thing I didn't like was that there was a draft coming in, which made the place a bit chilly, but other than that, I will deffs book this place again
- Lisa (5/5): There were a few issues that need sorting but would deffinately give it another try. - The people were very friendly. Shower was awesome. Cute and quiet. Kitchen had everything required and well layed out. Constant prob with wifi, TV didn't work. Roof was leaking.
- Kevin Baker (8/5): Lovely secluded retreat. - Quaint, clean, private. Only one bedside lamp. TV not working.

- Zikhona (6/5): Pleasant - The place was very Cosy and cute It was not ready when I got there and when it started raining, they were a few drops that were coming in. But the lady was very nice 👌, I loved her

- Jo-anne (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely Cottage with everything you would need.
- Padayachee (8/5): Very good - Fully functional kitchen. Sunny homy feeling Wifi connection not too great. Could be because of all the load shedding
- Nuhraan (8/5): Very good -
- Onesimo (4/5): The place was okay. - The place looked exactly as it did on the pictures. The TV wasn’t working properly and we spent our entire stay trying to get it to work. It would glitch and switch off by itself, even after changing the tv box the problem persisted.
The WiFi connection was weak
- Tlotlo (7/5): The experience was okay - The room was clean and the bedding was comfortable. Parking the car on the street although the area appeared to be safe.
“Sunlight Cottage” really means there’s plenty of sunlight in the room. But we fortunately had eye masks with us.
The WiFi was poor.
- Pillay (8/5): Very good - Loved the place, pity we had to leave due to family emergency.
Nice and central to everything, value for money. Have to park on the road.
No secure parking, safe area though.
- Natalie (9/5): Best accommodation in this price range - excellent firm matress, bright white crisp sheets, spotless accommodation, vigorous fan, good kitchen equipment, good quiet area, and very reasonably priced. Definitely will be my chosen accommodation every time I need to go to Wynberg and surrounding areas in future. Natalie Stipcich Nothing not to like...
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional - Modern, clean, with all amenities you need. Safe area, close to shops and restaurants.
- Fikayo (9/5): Superb -
- Maitsholol (10/5): Exceptional - I liked the comfort of the place. The kitchen had everything I needed. The bedroom was beautiful and had a tv with a wardrobe for putting clothes or belongs. The bathroom had a nice shower with hot water very intimate, cozy and nice. I liked independence of the place and the privacy you're given. No disturbance whatsoever. Perfect. I requested an extra blanket because of the cold. I didn't get it. There's no insight heater or electric blanket. I had travelled from jhb to cape town and the weather was different. I had to wear jerseys to bed. I saw that the tv was not a smart tv so an adaptor was used to show netflix and other things but the connection was terrible. I struggled the last day of the stay.
- Forever (10/5): Best place ever, I highly recommend it. - Everything was perfect, staff was friendly and patient...,bed was comfortable, wifi connection was good, hygiene was at it peak. More blankets are needed and staff should check if everything is fine before the guest arrive, for example check if the shampoo and soap is enough, all facilities or equipment is in place.

- Tania (8/5): A very conveniently located, well equipped cottage with a good kitchen! - Nice well lit with sky lights. Natural lighting. A very useable good kitchen. Gas stove. Good oven. Microwave. Kettle. Fridge. All great in the kitchen! Toiletries supplied in bathroom. Dishwashing liquid and sponge in kitchen with dry up cloth. Nice little private patio. Very private. Nice hosts. They supplied an extra blanket when I requested one. The path at the side of the property to access the cottage is a little narrow and dark at night. No door on shower so water goes onto bathroom floor. Tv remote batteries were flat. Bathroom light flickered on and off as if there may be an electrical fault.
- Chester (7/5): Good -
- Ivan (1/5): Bad - The wifi was good. The location was good. I booked early the morning. When I arrived in the afternoon I was only then informed that I need to stay elsewhere. I had to drive all the way to the new location. The waiting periods to be checked in in both places were an hour or more. The rooms were cold. I asked the host for a heater, he agreed to fetch one and never came back. Very unprofesional.
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Keegan (6/5): Pleasant - Location was close to where I needed to be and flat was well equipped. Oven could have been a little cleaner, also with some type of floormat, given all the rain.
- Fezeka (1/5): 😤😤😤 - Nothing at all. You could smell the mop, or was it bath water? I am not sure, but it was awful. In this chilly weather, there was no electric blanket, and the heater was ineffective. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was welcomed by kids aged 5/6 who told me their father was cleaning the cottage and I had to wait outside while it was raining. Yuuuuu ai Everything!

- Lara (8/5): Convenient quiet and comfortable with all we needed. - Good location and very quiet. Flatlet comfortable with lovely kitchen and gas stove. Bathroom shower amazing. Private courtyard. Bed comfortable and lovely fluffy towels. Welcoming host We were very comfortable. There was no milk for the tea and coffee, really small and could have been an oversight but it would have been nice to have.
- Nicole (10/5): It was lovely - Very clean, hosts are nice people and the space is very cozy The fridge is too small
- Mag (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, comfy bed and nice area... By car very quick way to the center Weak Wifi
- Khan (10/5): Home Away from Home - Cottage situated in a safe area, central to Cape Town's main attractions. The cottafe is in the backyard of another house but has a private entrance and a fence. The hosts were friendly and always willing to assist when required. The sunroof made the room very warm in the early parts of the morning.
- Junaid (7/5): Good -
- Herman (5/5): Passable - The area is beautiful.
The hostess was frienly and kind. The pillows are useless, it was extremely difficult to sleep on such a soft maybe (old or wornout) pillow, and why only one? Other facilities at least have two per per person.....
As a snr member in the Hospitality fraternity I dont want to walk into a place and smell the mop which was used to clean the floor.
I at least expected a sachet or 2 coffee, suger and creamer.
I got the impression that this is a converted servant room which is stil a project that needs finishing ....
I would like to see the local tourism star grading for this facility, if any at all.

Central to venue where I attended function. Extra blanket would be a bonus
Dripping geyser highly irritate
Parking in street logistical problems
- Thorina (5/5): Nice place- bad experience. - Beautiful cottage with comfortable bed. Nice kitchen as well. 2 night stay. Both days we had no warm water. The first night, we didn't have electricity because they didn't load any on the prepaid meter. (In my opinion, it should be checked before people arrive). No salt in the kitchen ? The geyser drips during the day and night. So difficult to fall asleep with the drip-sounds. It was not worth the money we paid.
- Andries (10/5): Exceptional -
- Washiela (9/5): Superb -

- Justin (7/5): Good - The design of the room. The fact that it was seperate and it was a decent size just to get away and unwind The sunroof is a nice touch but not great in summer. Woke up at 5:30am thinking it was 10:30am and then couldnt sleep again but I would still recommend this property.
- Lucie (9/5): Superb -
- Geoffrey (10/5): Exceptional - honestly, we loved every aspect of it! It is so refreshing when hosts put in effort into making things comfortable, functional, and easy.
A perfect bathroom, a kitchen with all the tools and appliances necessary and then some, a comfortable bed, all made for a wonderful stay.
It got quite warm while we were there and our hosts purchased a fan for the room without us even mentioning the heat. The bed could do with 2 extra pillows, as I had to fold mine in half to get the right support. (I am sure if I had asked these would have been happily provided)
