Guest Reviews
- Clare (1/5): Awful - The property was awful. When we arrived there had been a leak so the carpets were all soggy and stank of damp. There were only 3 chairs when there was 4 of us staying and only 3 glasses and no blind in one of the bedrooms. We all got up in the morning to have a shower and there was no hot water! The whole place was pretty appalling to be honest
- Clare (4/5): Disappointing - The location was good. The place smelled damp, and the bathroom toilet flooded when I flushed it.
The carpets felt grimy underfoot.
The settee was so uncomfortable I couldn't sit on it, and the TV was so badly positioned that I couldn't have watched it anyway.
I didn't book this house, I booked on in Margate. I received two messages the day before each containing a different address, which I didn't realise until I was in the area and entering the post code into my sat nav. There was no explanation in the messages, but as it turned out the first property had sprung a leak so I was relocated to a completely different town, and into a completely inferior property to the one I booked.
- Bedford (1/5): Rubbish place was dirty - Filthy rotten dirty don’t stay ere Nothing
- Sam (1/5): Avoid - TV is ok - Unsafe- no bannister on steep stairs which made it pretty inaccessible for one of our guests
- No curtains in one of the bedrooms
- Sheets smelt unclean
Don’t bother. Tried messaging the hosts a few times and no reply.
- Runisha (10/5): Exceptional - It felt like home
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tracy (2/5): Spoilt by the above. - The house was empty as there was a for sale sign outside. There was 2 large rubbish bins full with additional black bags on the floor. Seagulls had breakfast, dinner and tea. Amenities was presents but I had no hot water no heating for the whole of my stay. When u book u are given a number to call if theres any problems. I was answered on the last day of my stay and the boiler was fixed within the hour. It spoiled my stay as i was unable to have a shower. Non correspondence - Rubbish Bins - Sea gulls
- Liliana (9/5): Superb -
- Cassandra (10/5): Made a trip with friends easy and comfortable! - Clean, smart and was exactly as advertised.
- Miss (10/5): Exceptional - The flat is very clean, organised and comfortable. I really enjoy staying here!
I highly recommend it.
- Helena (7/5): It was good enough for what we needed and had all the essentials - It was surprisingly very quiet considering it was a terraced house There weren't any curtains in one of the bedrooms. There was a lot of litter in the street
- Jamie (1/5): Poor - Absolutely disgusting Very poor decision of me picking this property there was water leaks in bedroom and no access to garden via back door which was kept locked no key or door deliberately locked wiitout a key issues big fire risk for emergency exit
- Shakar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (10/5): 10000% would stay again - Everything
Amazing place
Everything you need
My daughter loved isit there too
- Howard (1/5): Property was so poor we didn't stay - Couldn't access the property on arrival. Wrong code. Broken window in one of the downstairs rooms which was open and couldn't be closed. Door ripped out of the frame and the frame in pieces in one of the bedrooms. Huge ugly black stain on the wall next to this door. Couldn't get the heating to work. Left the property and have an ongoing issue with Bookings.com the get a full refund
- Casey (10/5): Very nice x - Lovely home. The heating didn’t work but she called a plumber and was so helpful! Really recommend x Was quite cold x
- Sally (4/5): The property is lovely, but freezing due to broken window and no heating. Awful rubbish build up! - The bedrooms were a nice size and clean bathroom / kitchen. We were given the incorrect code. We had to call someone to say we were having issues with the code, only to be questioned abut the code we were using. The person read out a completely different code. We then got in. Loads and loads of rubbish in the front garden area, dirty big green bin blocking the gate and overflowing. Black bin-liners, ripped apart and what seemed like weeks worth of rubbish all over the area. Broken window downstairs and the heating was not working. Our message said no-one would be sent out after 8pm. We arrived just before this, called about the incorrect key code. Then sent a message (as the phone was no longer connecting to call) - there no answer to my message.
- Dionysis (4/5): Disappointing - Property sold and they didn't worry about putting any effort.
Broken windows and very cold with no radiators working.
Previous people who rented must have had a party and the place wasn't in good condition.
- Hannah (1/5): Don’t book this there are too many issues that are not being sorted out properly - Do not book this property- it is not currently fit for purpose and looks like a running theme of overflowing rubbish and issues with heating When we arrived there was a ‘sold’ sign outside and the lights were on (it was dark as late afternoon)- both a little disconcerting. I also tripped over a plastic bag of rubbish on the path and the wheelie bin was overflowing.
Upon entering there was a broken window downstairs which meant it couldn’t close at all and another window upstairs wouldn’t close meaning the whole house was freezing.
I spoke to a lady who asked me to send whatsapp pics/videos to another number which I did and advised we weren’t comfortable staying. She agreed at the time to offer an immediate refund so I booked another last minute hotel at a higher cost and we locked up and left. I have not received a refund 2 days later and had no response to a message chasing it.
I’ve just read updated reviews many of which mention the rubbish and issues with heating, as well as some poor person who has stayed there with the broken window- it’s unacceptable they are still trying to rent it out while it’s not possible to secure. Even if the area is relatively safe you never know.
The lady I spoke to on the phone was polite enough at the time but I do worry I’m not going to get my money back even though we were only there around 45 minutes while we called to express our concerns and then try to get a taxi into town.
- Mateusz (5/5): disfuncional - I liked the price and the space. used litter left in cup on floor in living room, unsecure window, heating not working. had to top up emergency credit on gas meter in dark cellar, almost died going down stairs. it's understandable for the price but not expected.
- Stephen (10/5): Very comfortable well equipped and spacious. - It was clean and in a good location.
- Sarah (2/5): No hot water or heating on arrival. Boiler account in debt. Rubbish overflowing in front garden. - Location was ok, but that's all. Don't book this property or the other one owned by the same host called Annmarie (Hidden Gem in the heart of Leysdown-on-Sea') They are falsely advertising their properties and it's not worth the money or the grief. ISSUE WITH BOILER - NO HOT WATER OR HEATING WHEN WE ARRIVED! DELAYS IN RESOLVING THIS RUINED OUR EVENING AND WE MISSED OUR DINNER RESERVATION!
After enduring a nightmare stay the previous evening at the 'Hidden Gem in the Heart of Leysdown-on-Sea', where the chalet was completely unfit for purpose, it was dangerous, we were instructed to fix things ourselves that posed serious health and safety risks and then ultimately we were left with no electricity or hot water for the entire stay. You can imagine we were looking forward to having these basics at our next location.
Due to the issues the previous night, the first thing I checked on arrival was that the boiler was in order. I found that there was a flashing error code on the display, and when I ran the hot tap...you guessed it...freezing cold! I sent a message to the host immediately. When she checked, she told us that the gas account was in debt and it had been cut off! What? She said she would have to drive over from Ramsgate to 'top up the gas'. We were only there for the evening, and this issue severely delayed our evening plans, causing us to miss our dinner reservation.
We only found out afterwards that the owner/host of this accommodation was indeed the same one as the nightmare stay from the night before at 'The Hidden Gem in the Heart of Leysdown-on-Sea'! We've had to fight to get our hard earned money back for the nightmare Leysdown chalet stay. The owner, Annmarie, lied to us, repeatedly saying that she'd contacted Booking.com to ask them to issue the full refund. She had not! Each time we called to follow up, she hung up the phone on us and ignored our messages.
My advice; DO NOT STAY IN EITHER OF THESE PROPERTIES...or indeed any others that are linked to this incompetent and unprofessional woman. They are only out to make money and do not ensure that the properties are ready for their guests. This whole experience was the WORST that I've ever encountered.
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Jenni (7/5): small but adequate - The house was clean and newly renovated. The staff were friendly and responsive to the issues we raised.
This is a small terrace house on a residential street so just be aware of this when booking. the boiler wasn't working and it turned out the Gas meter card had run out.
To be fair the ladies that were managing the property came and resolved the issue.
There are some snagging issues with the renovation of the property that need resolving.
- Debra (8/5): Very good - Very difficult to park
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Billy (8/5): Very good - Was really nice and clean but we had no hot water in the am. And we could not watch TV as they had no aerial
- Kayode (10/5): Amazing !!! My stay at the property was exceptional and there was no disturbance. - Everything about the property was top-notch There was no fridge/freezer.
- Court (9/5): Great value for money - Very very clean within a great location to get to where we needed.
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (5/5): Had potential but was let down - The place was clean and had all the amenities to a comfortable stay We were disturbed by another guest who booked the place for the same weekend and had a lot of back and forth when all we wanted to do was relax. Luckily we got there before them or we would have had issues with our stay. Also we had hot water issues on the day of checkout with boiler error code and sent messages to the host with no reply so had to have a completely cold shower which was highly disappointing 😔
- Alina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alina (10/5): Exceptional - Very worm and friendly environment with everything included. It's given you a good wibe of calm and relaxing.
The bed is very comfortable, a quit area, parking space was found available on the street.
The host very aprocable and ready to help in case we're need it. I didn't find anything to not like.
