Bernadette (10/5): Excellent location and facilities - Location was excellent! That the dishes were left in the dishwasher and not cleaned. The carpet in the lounge room seemed to be very quickly cleaned. Earring found on the floor beside the bed.

Elevator, had to press the button multiple times for it to work. spa was not clean, an I ended up going to the doctors a day later. Tv did NOT work, No Chanel’s at all. Was NOT worth the money.

Carolyn (7/5): Loved our stay and was perfect location for us to celebrate our daughters graduation - Locations was perfect. Layout of room was perfect Room wasn’t cleaned well. Bathroom cupboard doors were all left open. Had to wipe bench in kitchen as was sticky in places. Rangehood was very greasy when pulled out. Mirror in ensuite bathroom very smeary. Had to wipe over Air conditioner did not work in either bedroom very well. Lounge area was cold. Bedrooms over night very hot even though we left the temp on 19

Bruynen (1/5): beyond disappointed. - The room was absolutely dirty - so dirty in fact that the lovely receptionist ordered an intensive clean! This was not done until the next afternoon - we went out all morning until after 2pm and came back to the room only to find it was not done, so we had to vacate for a further 2 hours. The rains opened up and it was pouring outside, leaving us to wait it out in the lobby, cold and wet where we witnessed two other guests (separate bookings) come and complain about the cleanliness of their rooms. The basic requirement that you must get right 100% of the time is a rooms cleanliness. I can overlook many things, such as view from room, late or early check-out/check-in IF the room I have paid for is CLEAN. I did not even want to walk around the room with my shoes off!! The kitchen was dirty - we were not cooking anyway, but could not even enjoy sitting on the balcony, glass balustrade was filthy and the entire table and chairs were black with grime. I took photos of the cloths I used to clean this and showed them to Reception so they were aware. I could not even sit outside and enjoy the lovely view of the city we had - it was to celebrate my 50th birthday - 50 - and I couldn't even enjoy a glass of bubbles on the balcony! With these surfaces so obviously dirty and unkept - it then makes you question the sheets on the bed, the pillowslips, the toilet and shower....everything. After the 'deep clean' we went back to our room, only to find the crumbs and sticky residue on the coffee table that were there when we arrived - were still there!!!! It was gross. Worst birthday city stay ever - and I will not get that special time back again. It was last month and I still get upset thinking about it. NOT to mention, my best friend who travelled from Brisbane, as a gift to me paid in full before our arrival, this payment was not put on to the booking, so a second payment was taken on arrival.

Louise (7/5): Room for improvement - Pillows were comfy. Room size was good. On arrival there was no toilet paper or a hand towel. There were long black hairs on the edge of the spa, on the tiles in the shower and a mass in the sink. The tiles were dirty at the base of the spa. There were quite visible stains on the couch and bed head.

Felicity (8/5): On my short-list of hotels to stay in the City - Room very spacious and bed really comfortable. Location excellent with short walk to Southbank restaurants, Hamer Hall, Museum etc. On-site parking convenient. Great blockout blinds. Kitchen is looking a little tired. Friend's room was on City Road which they said was a bit noisy during the night. Luckily she had earplugs.

Krystal (4/5): Was seeking a city staycation with my son, it was very disappointing due to the low standards. - The location was good, the pool was fun. We spun the wheel for free parking. I arrived early in my car (12:00pm) and was instructed to park in 502 - i drove around the carpark looking for the carspace before realising someone was already parked there. I parked in a different spot. I signed it at reception was advised the room would be ready at 2:00pm or potentially earlier which they would contact me. My son and I headed out and came back at 2:00pm - reception spent an extensive amount of time clicking around seeming to be confused about our room. She kept apologising and checking the screen and scrolling to search. My 6-year old son was becoming very restless waiting at the desk. Eventually, she found our room... when we went upstairs to 1109 the room had shoes, dirty towels, an unmade bed and rubbish bags inside... we went straight back downstairs and advised the room was already taken. By this stage i felt very uncomfortable about staying and suggested cancelling the booking but i was told that any cancellations would be 20 days to refund... almost like a threat to stay. We got our new room which was made up and staff gave us a bag of lollies and complimentary breakfast the next morning. I kind gesture, but I already felt pretty ick about staying. I payed extra on the booking for a room with a 'hot tub' - this was false advertising to me as the 'hot tub' was a simple bath inside the shower. At breakfast as my son and I walked in to find a seat, a man from behind the bar yelled 'HEY, whats your room number!?' very direct and not very welcoming. Poor service and very unprofessional all around. I will absolutely not ever stay here or another Mantra again and will not be recommending to anyone.

Easy checkin and check out which luggage storage available The AC didn’t work, would not stay on a cool temperature therefore room was quite muggy. The king bed had only a sheet over the mattress, that didn’t fit the bed so kept coming off finding ourselves sleeping directly on the mattress when we would wake, there was no mattress topper/protector which I found very odd. Made it quite uncomfortable. The kitchenware was dirty and old. The mugs had dry coffee around the rim.

Bathroom hadn’t been cleaned as there were makeup finger prints and shower screen dirty. Tiles around the toilet wall had ‘yellow stains’. Looked like wee sprayed on the tiles.

Beds were comfortable a bit dated could do with refurbishing the bathroom. a soft cloth in the kitchen would be good. and a face washer for every guest. we only had one face washer to share between three people
Jade (10/5): Overnight stay for concert at Rod laver. Easy walk to and tram back - Great location and staff. Nice room. Restaurant was only open for breakfast not for lunch or dinner.
Odessa (6/5): - The room was a great size! Southbank location always good. The room smelt like urine. The carpet was loose/old that needed to be stretched. Pillows were very firm and high. We were there for an event and got changed quickly and left straight after checking in (arrived back too late for staff to be there) so when we inform staff about the urine smell, they couldn't have cared less.
