Guest Reviews
- Tristan (8/5): Perfect - It was really nice, the personnel was really nice and take care of you,
Special mention to Ayuwa who’s gonna help you at anytime and Yusuf which bring be around Tetebatu to watch everything, from the rice plantations, to the waterfalls
A really great moment here Nothing everything was perfect

- Frédéric (10/5): Séjours inoubliables - Une famille incroyable , super accueil chaleureux. On a vécus des moments extraordinaires (mariage , musiques traditionnelles, karaoké … ) .
- Maisie (8/5): Relaxing place to stay if you want to get away from the crowds. - This is a very nice off the grid place
- Guru (10/5): -

- yuddi (9/5): - Keramahan stafnya luar biasa, friendly. Thank you
- Sholehman (8/5): -
- puji (6/5): - Penginapan yg sederhana (simple) Terlalu jauh dr perkotaan
- Nynke (10/5): Goede prijskwaliteit verhouding - Heel aardig personeel. Otrbijt was inbegrepen, lekkere bananen pannekoek gehad.
- Giulia (10/5): I recommend this beautiful little place, the personal are very king! Rooms are very simple, enough for the price and cle -
- Lara (9/5): - The manager was so nice and caring. He cooked for us in the evening and always tried to help. Would definitely recommend staying there, but you have to keep in mind that there are quite a few insects around (also cockroaches) but i feel like that is just given by the place and not the fault of the accommodation. They also offer Tours and I can only recommend those. As I said there might be insects, and I must say that the toilet wasn’t the cleanest when we arrived.
On avait réservé 3 nuits.
- Naomi (3/5): Staff flirting, Bed not clean and taxi driver not honest - Staff in reception was nice,
landscapes too.
Food was good
The tour they suggest is very good There were long hair and white stains on the bed sheets. Seems like the sheets hadn’t been changed.
One of the staff member was flirting and it was very uncomfortable as I was the only woman and guest in the homestay for 2 nights in a remote place with no grab/Gojek in this area.
There is not hot shower.
If you don’t have your own vehicule you will have to deal with the homestay taxi. If you take Gojek app to get a range of prices they will reply « Yeh but Gojek is too cheap », so they overcharged on purpose knowing you don’t have any other options. I was pretty upset because I decided to go for a cheaper option to get to the harbour ; the bus, But the homestay taxi and the bus driver made a deal to overcharge me too! Pretty disappointing not to be able to trust staff members.
It really well began when I first got there but then these stuff happens and I couldn’t not report.
I hope this review will be taken seriously.
- Sara (10/5): - We really enjoyed this Homestay due to its cozy garden, clean and spacious rooms with private toilets. The staff really made us feel at home and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast and dinner was good as well. Both nights when we stayed at Avocado we had a great time with the staff and fellow travelers. Drinking local rice wine, playing cards, listening to music and doing karaoke.
The guided tour we did with Avocado was exceptional as well. While our overall stay was 10/10, there was one thing we wish to highlight. One listed facility wasn't correct - On booking it says that they have a sauna but this is incorrect and needs to be updated.
- Chloe (10/5): Great stay highly reccomend - Great accomodation to stay at in this area. Yusuf (the main guy working) is an absolute legend and made the stay highly enjoyable. Took us to local village and waterfalls around the area. Would highly recommend staying here and the accommodation itself is exactly what you need.
- Sebestyén Péter (8/5): - The room was nice, in the jungle Its a long way from where everythings happening. The road to tetebatu is full dirt and rocks for like 15 mins. If you go the other way around the road is better but its longer.
- Jolijn (8/5): - Super friendly people, showed us around with their scooters and got a hot shower as upgrade!
Personeel is heel erg vriendelijk.
Muchas gracias familia Avocado! La verdad que fue perfecto
- Samuel (10/5): - Youssouf and his friends were so lovely and nice, realy good food and good vibes!
- Zora (10/5): Exceptional - They're offering plenty cool tours with a tour guide via rentable scooter which weren't expensive (to rice fields - waterfalls - black monkey Forest and another one to bamboo crafting workshop and weaving traditional cloths)
Good cheap food at the hostel.
Fun activities with the staff in the evening like drinking together, karaoke, playing guitar and more.
AND KITTENS The location is pretty far from any supermarket and the road is bumpy but some rice fields are around the door.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Thanks for a great time guys - It’s a beautiful place. What made it so great was the guys working there. Yusuf took us out for the day to see a village farming cooperative, waterfalls, monkeys and local crafts. He was the best tour guide ever. Highly recommend that you trust him and go along with his suggestions.
It’s fairly basic but the price reflects that and it’s great value for money.
- Loranne (5/5): This place needs 2 things: a women (to care better about the property) and a cat (for the mice). The tour via the homest - In Tetebatu, especially from the homestay which is 5km out of the village, you will take some guided tours to see the amazing nature. So the homestay has some local guides which are really really friendly qnd genuine. We had a super day with the tours with guides. The price is good.
Regarding the property in the evening dinner is quite good and the guys sing and play guitar which makes a lovely family atmosphere.
The garden is really beautiful and quiet. This homestay needs 2 essential elements: a CAT and a WOMAN.
Cat: complaining is never nice, especially for this cheap price. But a mouse in your room is really not ok. There was a hole in the roof and a lot of mouse-shit in the room. (The room was also not cleaned and the guy changed the bedsheet in front of our eyes because he forgot). We showed it to the guy who welcomed us and also stays in the homestay that there was a mouse and he didn’t care really, he laughed about it and took the shit away. “Tomorrow, tomorrow i fix” (english really really bad) eventually we asked another room which also had some mouse shit but ok no other choice (we also had to propose the change of room ourself..)
Woman: in all the nice places of Lombok till now woman were the main driver of homestays, they just care differently about the property and understand you. The sink had hairs, hairties and toothpaste in it, it was simply very dirty and super humid. In the second room we didn’t even have a sink. For this price we don’t expect luxury, but minimum level of cleanliness and no mice is what we expect.
Lastly, there was an ant in the batter of the pancake at breakfast.
- Tyra (10/5): Amazing - Amazing welcoming homestay! You will not regret booking!!
- Marie (9/5): Superb - - the stuff were super nice, helpful and ready to show us around
- the room was clean and very nice
- the price is reasonable
- very calm environment with beautiful garden and perfect views on the ricefields close by
- free coffee and tea for the whole day - the guys need to learn to play UNO for the next time
- Leah (10/5): Greatest place in all of Lombok - If you want to experience Indonesian culture without all the tourist arround you, this is the place. It has genuinely been the greatest experience in all of my travels in Indonesia because of the people. The place is owned and driven by a family who will welcome you. They don’t just want your money, they want to get to know you and are genuine. And you should get a guide from there because he will invite you to see many local places, knows so much about agriculture and everything. It is 100% worth the money.
- Perline (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was incredibly kind and location so quiet
- Khiara (10/5): Exceptional - As they said : come as a guest, leave as family
The team was so great, i had the best time of my trip there thanks to everyone and my guide. The room is clean and has everything you need. it’s a 10/10 !
- Inès (10/5): a true hidden gem - we discovered this hidden gem thanks to a traveler who spoke so passionately about it that we had to see it for ourselves, and we’re SO GLAD we did
tucked away in nature and far from the usual tourist paths, we found ourselves completely alone in this peaceful haven
we were welcomed with warmth by Aiwa and his wonderful team, who more than hosted us: they shared a piece of their lives with us
the rooms were simple but clean, we only stayed one night but truly wished we had more time there
we also booked a day tour through the homestay with Yusup and Anwing, two amazing and funny guides. we explored terebatu's amazing landscapes and encountered very few tourists
to Aiwa, Yusup, Anwing, Iwan, and Amana: thank you from the bottom of our hearts, our time at avocado hostel will always hold a special place in our hearts ❤️
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. Friendly people , good food , laundry service. They offer tours around tetebatu and bring you to the best places :) thank you so much! I had such a good time!
- Mar (10/5): Exceptional - The homestay is really beautiful and peaceful, ideal if you want to relax. The room is big and the bed super comfy.
The owners and the staff are nice and they help you a lot!
It has been a great experience!
- Marta (10/5): Great Stay - A nice homestay in the middle of this tiny local village. The staff was amazing, you truly felt like you are a part of the family and get a real indonesian village experience. I even extended my stay as the owners invited me and other guests to their wedding which was an incredible once in a lifetime experience. Everyone in the village is so kind and sweet and took the best care of us. Thank you for everything x Nothing to complain about. It’s a simple place with simple facilities but you have everything you need.
- Elliot (8/5): Very good - The staff were very friendly and helped organize a transfer for us. The property itself is also good with food and drinks available. Wifi wasn’t very good. I also wish the windows could properly close to limit the insects entering at night. Didn’t have much else around the property so definitely needed a scooter to get around.
- Polly (8/5): Very good - Staff weee extremely friendly and accommodating Room wasn’t cleaned properly - bins had not been changed
- Antonio (10/5): Good place with friendly staff - If you not need hot water is the best place in Lombok
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moskalik (10/5): Exceptional - “Come like a guest- leave like a Family” - that’s 100 % about Avocado Homestay!
New cozy bungalous, quality bed clothes, cleanliness in the room, good wi-fi - create a comfortable atmosphere for relaxation.
The friendly caring attitude of the hotel owners and employees also complements a pleasant stay.
Will inspire and please everyone's eyes - a beautiful garden that grows on the hotel grounds. You will be able to see a different kind of bright flowers and a lot of various of Indonesian fruits such as passion fruit, bananas, star fruits, avocado, dragon fruits and others.
For all animal lovers - it’s will be a nice surprise - a cute cat that lives in hotel named Mimpi, which translates from the local language as a Dream. Very social cat who loves kind attention.
Will help to make your staying in Tetebatu more fulfilling and immerse in the local atmosphere - guide Yusuf, who works at the hotel. Visiting the main attractions of the area, vivid emotions, beautiful photos from the trip for a good memories - and all this complete with humor - are guaranteed! :)
Avocado Homestay also provides laundry service, new bike rental, taxi service etc
Enjoy your staying in Tetebatu with Avocado Homestay!
Highly recommended 💯 ❤️
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional - We feel very welcome and our kids didn‘t want to leave! Lovely stuff! They serve very tasty food and you can take a local guide there to visit the riceterrace and waterfalls. We can recommend!
- Alec (10/5): Best place to stay - This is the perfect to stay if you visit Lombok, by far! The place is clean, the food is great, and above all the personnel is the best i've saw in my trip in Asia! They have also have the best guide to show you around - even the hidden spots and they can provide you with a transport from the airport! Also have a laundry place! I recommend by FAR !!!
- Elina (9/5): We highly recommend! Lovely staff and tours. - The staff was very nice and helpful. The garden is lovely. We enjoyed fresh passionfruit straight outside of our room. Also, good breakfast and coffee! The roads to the property are a bit bumpy
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - I wish I stayed for more than one night! It was not in the best area however the owners and tour guides are willing to drive you everywhere. I had a very fun night out trying different drinks and food from the area
- Francini (7/5): Pleasant and natural stay ♥️ - It was in the middle of nowhere but with a very nice and family atmosphere. The staff was very kind. And the place itself is very “naturey” and beautiful! The roads to get there weren’t the best, specially with the rain and there’s no hot water, which I already knew. “Nice songs” from a mosque late at night. Other than that, all good !
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice staff, very nice room, very nice avocados
- Sam (10/5): Amazing stay from start to finish! - Amazing value for money stay at Avocado. Staff are so friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home. Lovely breakfast served with Lombok coffee was a great added touch. Rooms are spacious and clean. If you visit Tetebatu, don’t hesitate to stay at Avocado. Thank you for a wonderful stay! No hot water for shower but was not too much of an issue.
- Federica (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic experience, we felt like if we were at home, the people very kind. Terima kasih! We loved to stay in avocado homestay 😍
- Tristan (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely clean, airy room. The friendliest staff and great food. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed in Lombok
- Nadine (10/5): Exceptional - The people there are really really kind, everything was super clean and the breakfast was also really nice!
- Nestor (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay at Avocado Homestay.
Amazing food and people. The region is great to visit if you have a bike.
Had great talks with Susii, she made us felt part of the family, she's the best !!
- Frank3003 (10/5): True local experience! - Best staff! They made us the best food and showed us the best places in Tetebatu. We felt at home here.
Thank you Susi, Sumargo & Yudi.
Amazing value for money here. Of course the rooms and facilities are basic, however we couldn't have wished for anything more than this local experience, especially given the good price.
- Pesničáková (10/5): Definitely recommend!! - It’s a beautiful homestay with a great location. There is a lot of plants in the common area, so it feels very peaceful and relaxing. The cook here is outstanding, for reasonable prices you get delicious local food. Rooms are very clean and tidy (the homestay is new). Last but not least the staff is very friendly and opened. There’s no warm water.
- Elias (7/5): Good - Quite new
Breakfast included
Staff were nice and tried there best to make our stay comfortable
They offered us transport for a good price to the port Only cold showers which were really cold
There was no cover on the blanket which is not really hygienic
Construction site going on
Brakes of the scooter we rented were barely working.
They recommend us a waterfall which was a tourist scam. Would have been nice if they would have warned us before we drove there over one hour by scooter (with bad brakes)
- Montana (10/5): Amazing!! - We loved it here! Lovely bungalow with nice clean room and the surrounding area is beautiful! Breakfast is delicious and staff are super friendly There is no door for the bathroom just something to be aware of!
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place with modern clean rooms and very comfortable bed. Scooter rental available, but it is walking distance to Tetebatu village and the surrounding attractions if you want a day on foot, which we did.
Special mention to Susi who really came through for us and gave us all the help we needed when arrived because it turned out we had been scammed by a fraudster on booking.com who has put up a duplicate profile for the same property. Unfortunately we booked through the scam profile rather than this one, and our money was stolen and no record reservation was made with the homestay. But Susi was absolutely brilliant, helped us get sorted out, was kind, efficient and charming all the way through. A real asset to the business. Please stay here, but be extra careful when you book. The scammers who duplicated the booking.com profile for this property, but that is absolutely not the fault of the lovely staff and owner of Avocado. There was nothing bad about the place itself at all
- Will (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (9/5): Very helpful staff - The bugalows were simple but everything you need. The small village lies next to Tete Batu so you need transportation. The staff was very helpful and took care of us very well. We did the trekking in the beautiful ricerfields and this trip was organized very well by the homestay.
- My (10/5): Exceptional - The hospitality of this place was from another world! The owner's family were treating us so kindly, they went with us by scooter to the main road, shared local snacks with us, and generally looked after us so well. Some of the staff even took us to a local wedding nearby!
The food was also delicious and the environment is very relaxing. The road leading there is a bit bumpy but it's very close to all the waterfalls and other landmarks of Tetebatu.
We loved the place and people there, would definitely come again!
- Capt (5/5): Passable - Comfy, clean room. In the evening, I wanted some food, but there was no one around. There are no other options in the area. Eventually someone arrived on a motorbike. Breakfast was advertised as starting at 7am. I waited 50 minutes for someone to show up. Stay in Tete Batu, among the rice fields. There is no view here.
