Guest Reviews
- Zoe (9/5): - My partner and I stayed over new year. We found the apartment spotlessly clean and great value for money. Great location small walk from the beach bars and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return would definitely recommend.
- Chloe (7/5): Satisfactory for a reasonably priced stay near the coast but not a location/ property I’d return to - Property was a good layout with plenty of space in the bedrooms and living/dining area. Kitchen and bathroom were clean. Main issue with the property is how thin the walls are and/or how noisy the neighbours are. Constant noise from next door all day and evening, plus noise from below late at night once we moved through to the bedrooms. We didn’t receive any instructions on arrival to enter the property, although the host did answer the phone quickly and provide the code but wasn’t particularly friendly on the phone. The property was generally clean, although bedrooms and living room had spiders and cobwebs throughout which hadn’t been cleaned and dirty patches on carpets. Providing 1 toilet roll for 4 people staying Saturday to Monday wasn’t sufficient.
- lynn (8/5): Enjoyed our stay in the main, a couple of issues I won’t share here as they did not include the property - Access was easy and well presented
- Mills (8/5): Very good - How cosy and comfy the apartment was. The stairs were alot for us as we are not a young couple.
- Caroline (9/5): Nice apartment, good location. - The property looked like it had been newly renovated, to a good standard. Lots of towels, toilet paper, hand soap and washing up liquid. Kitchen was well resourced, although salt and pepper would have been useful. We had not been told that the lock box for the door key was very low down - about 10cm off the floor, plus upon opening the door we were greeted with very steep stairs. In other circumstances, with other people, this could have been a really big problem. This needs to be made clear.
- John (10/5): A convenient large apartment for City and Airport for those with a car. -
- Zena (5/5): Felt dirty with large amounts of dried blood on bed blankets - Generally the property has recently been renovated with IKEA furniture so clean & tidy, but the double bed is a small double even though the room is a large size & would easily take a king size. First trying to get into the key box that was so low to the ground (had to get on my hands & knee's)with mobility issues this would be impossible.
The bedroom curtains are so thin it's pointless having them & with a street light outside it was like daylight all night.
Blood on the bed blanket was a hygiene worry to why this had been missed in the cleaning
Blood splatters on curtains & blinds
The Tv was not working & WiFi passcode not accepted, after 15 messages to the host, it became apparent they were guiding me on a different property , we never managed to get either tv or Internet to work
- Garry (9/5): Superb - It's a nice place and convenient for accessing local area. It was good for our needs. Tv only gets streaming services. Maybe sorting a dish or aerial to make regular services accessible would help.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ingham (9/5): Superb -
- Gaynor (10/5): Exceptional - All the little touches, towels, tea towels, tea and coffee, etc , it was all lovely The stairs, my husband, has Parkinsons and I didn't realise it was going to be upstairs, and there was no power point down stairs to charge his powered wheelchair. Plus , the bins were full to overflowing, and there aren't any bins around all the grassed area's for you to dispose of you dogs mess, although I know and accept this isn't your fault
- Graham (10/5): Lovely clean comfy apartment no complaints at all - Lovely and clean Kitchen a tiny bit small but thats me just being very picky
- Georgina (8/5): Well presented and great value for money - Very neat and nicely finished accommodation, modern and a pleasant place to be. All facilities as described and everything we needed (loo roll, towels, washing up supplies, kitchen roll, tea and coffee making etc - so often omitted and makes all the difference).
Easy to find, simple check in and out, parking right outside, convenience store on the corner, great location for exploring the area Location wise, it's a half mile to the beach along a road and we were using the accommodation as a base to explore Northumbria (Durham, Warkworth, Lindisfarne, Whitley Bay) with a few brief trips to paddle in the sea before a meal out. If we were there for a traditional family 'beach holiday' I'd imagine the children may have been bored eventually as the beach is peaceful and unspoilt and missing all the arcades and shops of the usual resorts! As it was, the beach was sandy and clean and (weather dependent) would have been fab for an afternoon with a bucket and spade - though bring one with you!
A very minor point on the cleanliness score- overall the whole place was clean, just there were a few cobwebs in the corners, and my 9 year old can spot a spider across a room so we had a few evictions to do on arrival. But apart from the corners of the ceilings, the cleanliness was perfectly reasonable.
- Douglas (8/5): OK but neighbors were noisy, only parking on street - No number on door, key box very low down, microwave location dangerous, pillows rather hard, shower base very slippery.
- Lindley (4/5): Comfortable flat, shame about neighbouring noise & inability to pick up television channels. - Comfortable beds & seats, plenty of crockery & cutlery, & clean. Noise from the neighbouring flat. It became quieter during the day, but was very noticable during the evening & 4.30 in the morning, not to mention the volume of snoring. Some soundproofing needs to be done. Also, we could only get iPlayer on the television, there was no signal for terrestrial channels, & we couldn't log into other channels, very poor.
- Birdsall (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (8/5): Clean, well laid out and ideal lication - The flat was beautifully clean and laid out really well. It had everything you could need for a stay. Exceptional shower and facilities were really good. It is located in a small seaside town that has plenty of amenities, places to eat and the sea front has lots of benches you can sit on, at the end of the road there is a regular bus to Newcastle, it was a really great experience. The only thing I didn't like was when you exited the bathroom you were looking at a flight of stairs down to the front door, with an elderly mother prone on tripping that worried me but proved not to be an issue.
- George (9/5): Perfect for a little get away with the family - Great little apartment, nice and private, very clean and everything that was provided was spot on The main bed was to small, a little hover would be helpful, graffiti on the fence
- Joy (5/5): With a few tweaks this could be a really nice apartment - Nicely decorated. Furniture looked quite new.
That when I emailed about issues below I got a response Exit to fire escape - unable to open.
Small Hole in floor of twin bedroom covered with carpet.
Large damp patch at bottom of stairs as you walk in which seemed to getting bigger.
TV a smart Tv &had to use own apps.
Only answered phone once when trying to express concern about the above
- Sharon (8/5): Excellent base in lovely apartment located close to an abundance of fabulous northumbrian beaches. - Beautifully presented apartment, warm, comfortable and well equipped. Superb shower! Everything was excellent, but perhaps a few directions on refuse disposal would be helpful. The rear yard bins not accessible. Thank you.
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy, well equipped apartment. 10 min walk to the promenade.
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (9/5): Superb -
- Zaheer (9/5): Loved it! - We loved how clean it was and how it was really enjoyable for a family stay We just hoped there was a deep freezer and other than that it was good
- Darren (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfy
- Dr (9/5): Really great place, perfect for a short stay and to enjoy Northumbria. - Easy to get to and well placed to enjoy the Northumbrian coast
- Jax (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebecca (9/5): Lovely apartment - The apartment was clean, warm and welcoming. Nice new bathroom with a large walk in shower, comfy beds and good size lounge/dining room. Small area to front of the house clean and tidy.
Tea/coffee/sugar/milk provided.
Great value for money.. The kitchen didn't have storage for food etc,
TV only worked on catch up (unless I just couldn't work it), Internet a bit temperamental so tv kept going off, but not the end of the world.
- Julius (10/5): Exceptional - Well equipped, very nice apartment.
Comfortable beds too
- Teeelless (8/5): A few niggles, but overall, comfortable and well turned out property - The location was brilliant, nice and quiet, just what we wanted. One of the cleanest and most modern apartments I've stayed in, with a lovely personal touch of a Christmas tree awaiting our arrival. The apartment is very warm and cosy with all the comforts of home. Fully equipped with kitchen roll, toilet rolls, towels, kitchen and bathroom cleaner as well as washing up liquid, cleaners and fresh towels. Upon arrival, we noticed that we didn't appear to have a freezer, not even a freezer compartment in the fridge. We had brought quite a lot of frozen foods to cook over the Christmas period and we had to throw everything out as we couldn't keep it frozen, We also noticed that we couldn't unlock the back door, which is a fire hazard, as well as being unable to empty our rubbish into the outside bins. We called the property on the day of arrival to report the above and they said that they'd get someone to take a look at the back door, and they also confirmed that that apartment doesn't come with a freezer, this is something that definitely needs to be made clearer in the property description. Nobody turned up during our next 7 days at the property, to attempt to fix the back door and we had to just leave our bin bags to the side of the property, where we also noticed that the previous residents had had to leave their rubbish too. The door to the master bedroom would also not shut and as our stay progressed, damp patches began to appear at the bottom of the stairs, inside the property.
