Guest Reviews
- G (8/5): Good quiet location close to town. Comfortable premises. - Location of the property is good. Nice and quiet, warm and comfortable. Did not receive the keylock code before arrival and had to contact the agent. There is no allocated parking spot and relies on a vacancy within the hotel grounds which was often busy.
- Robert (8/5): - Location was good and easy to find.
Good space I side the property.
Good selection of facilities. Flooding at the back drain daily.
The external bucket was not available?
- stephen (10/5): Rockville Cottage - Lovely house and great central location close to town centre
- C (9/5): Lovely time, would recommend - Lovely stay for my mums birthday. Facilities were excellent and it’s very convenient for town
- Margaret (2/5): Awful - Self catering It was filthy….. hadn’t seen a hoover since months. Paper hankies and macdonalds tomato sauce under the bed.
Going to the mod for a week I needed a place to hang my clothes…. Hey ho not even a wardrobe in my room. Couldn’t put anything on chest of drawers as the floor was so uneven…. Everything rolled to the floor. Dead bees and cobwebs everywhere.
Kitchen was a disgrace. All the non stick pans were all scraped with no covering on them. One tea towel. No hand towel.
Had to wash all the cracked and chipped ancient crockery as they all smelt of lavender….. cupboard had glade lavender airfreshner plastic things and the cups and glasses were smelling. It was awful. A container with sugar was full of flies and another container with coffee was as hard as a brick.
The blind was on the floor in the porch when we arrived… obviously just nailed in to the plaster board and didn’t stay up. People from the street could see straight through the house .
So after paying over £1,600 for the week it really was appauling.
I run self catering myself and I certainly wasn’t impressed.
- Stefanie (10/5): - Schön eingerichtetes Haus. Bequeme Betten, viel Platz. Küche sehr gut ausgestattet.

- Jennifer (9/5): Super stay in an exceptional property - Big and spacious. Fantastic location . Super comfy beds and great shower/bathrooms There was a slight odour when first entering the property which was a bit off putting initially
- Jens (8/5): - Nähe zum Ort, Blick auf den See
- Ashishk1 (10/5): - The location is excellent. The property is also excellent with all facilities and a great view. Nothing
- JW (6/5): Good place for exploring the area but supplies the bare minimum. - Location is excellent, good parking spot, very clean. Downstairs toilet is prone to blocking because of poor plumbing, very little in the way of utensils or kitchen equipment, washing machine shakes the fridge, only 1 tv, furniture and decor very nans house, very little in the way of rainy day activities for children, breakfast bar but no stools, small dinner table but huge useless piano.
- Parag (9/5): Superb - Location can’t be better than this Nothing
- Deanne (9/5): Superb - Great location, homely feel, great for a longer stay. Offered everything you could possibly need.
- Gregory (9/5): Superb -
- Flora (8/5): Very good -
- Nichola (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely cottage with everything you need in a great location. Nothing.
- Denise (8/5): This is a great property with a great outside area. The location is perfect, just a few minutes from the centre. - Lots of room and very well equipped Bathroom windows didn’t open!?!
- Jane (10/5): Fantastic - Everything, the cottage is like home from home you don’t want for anything , beds are comfy the lounge is comfy it was nice and warm the kitchen is well stocked the location is spot on, the views were amazing. The property is looking a bit tired needs a bit of attention like a few walls in lounge area need painting, kitchen window nearest to back door needs attention as if it’s opened you need a tool to shut it as one of the metal arms gets stuck , also on the back needs a good tidy it needs weeding and a good general clean up also it could do with a car space painting as customers from the hotel a couple of times while we were there parked in the spot for the cottage , but none of them points ruined our break at all
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect 👌 Nothing
- Dalyan (10/5): Alex is very helpful and friendly . Any problem she comes in 10 min. She is lovely . X - Feel like home . Should mark where to park the car .
- Oldfield (9/5): A thoroughly enjoyable week away at this superb cottage! - We absolutely loved our family holiday at Rockvale. It was warm, cosy and welcoming. Comfortable beds and duvets. Lots of space for us to relax. Nothing was too much trouble by the host. Very close to the town of Fort William (literally at the end of the high street) just a 2 minute walk. Wonderful views of the Loch. Would recommend a car for exploring what the highlands have to offer, which is a lot. We would definitely return! It would benefit from having a microwave and a dishwasher but that's just us and not a big deal. To be honest we almost didn't book this great place due to the poor rating and the photos on booking.com which don't do it justice. We're so pleased to have stayed at Rockvale though as we were pleasantly surprised and loved the cottage
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brandon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (9/5): Perfect! - Amazing location - 2 minute walk into main town but in a quiet spot.
Lovely cottage, clean and tidy with everything you may need for your stay. Was much bigger than I anticipated. Enclosed garden.
Great communication before arrival. It really didn’t bother us but this cottage is in the car park of a hotel
