Guest Reviews
- harsha (7/5): - We enjoyed the stay, good value for money. Spacious. The dishwasher was leaking for some reason. But there was a drain out in the floor for it, but this wasn't informed to us before booking. You have to pick the keys from a different location, not too far though. The front of the property and the car park is smelly due to a sewer pump house next to it.
- Erin (10/5): Great place to stay convenient to Waikato Hospital - Good facilities and close to the hospital Having to check in at a different location

Difficulty with HEAT PumpâŠ.No heat
I left an article behind and have text the property but no response?
- Tim (6/5): - The unit was good and well equipped. The street surroundings were average. The location was not good. We tried to walk to get a meal but Hamilton restaurants were beyond walking distance. The location.
- Bing (8/5): - traditional breakfast
- Kelly (7/5): Comfortable and pleasant - Easy to find and conveniently located near the hospital.
Everything was clean and comfortable. Beds very comfy.
Staff were really lovely. Sewage drain near property causes smells in carpark.
Good to note that bags must be carried up stairs.
Small loose clear plastic pegs under dining chairs needed to be removed for child safety - only aware of these after we found bubs pulling them out and trying to eat them đ
- Lydia (8/5): -
- Pam (8/5): - Handy to hospital Really brassed off that I had to drive to another motel to check in and get key...I purposely chose the location close to the hospital and was awful having to drive in the dark and rain and find another motel to check in and then drive back to find the apartments.I was stressed and by myself and just didn't need that!I wouldn't gave booked the apartment if they had advised me of these requirements before paying
- Rita (8/5): - Close to the Hospital
Clean & comfortable None, everything went well with our overnight stay.
- Anh H Tran (9/5): - - Value for money
- Clean
- Well equipped
- Paul (8/5): Easy access and comfortable. - Tidy and comfortable accessible property with plenty of room and everything you need. Check in was offsite but it was fine. All good.
- Sunnie (8/5): Good value for money & great location. - Convenience, comfortable & great for a quick sleep. The bathroom door locked so we had to open it with a knife.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Dale (8/5): Was a perfect place to stay while a family member was having surgery at the hospital. Very convenient to walk across the - Very handy to Waikato hospital. Around a 300m walk through the park. It is right next to a busy road, so the road noise can be a little loud, but eventually dies down late at night.
- James (8/5): Stay was good as close to where I had to be for appointment. - Television only showed TLC channels, no TVNZ or Freeview so very limited viewing. I contacted reception desk ( situated 1 Km away !) and felt I was fobbed off when told that they had a problem with Freeview channels.
- floriane (9/5): - Les équipements
Appartement spacieux et bien équipé Pour l'amélioration de l'appartement, il manque des lampes de chevet
- mary (9/5): Very good - Location. Parking. Privacy. Amenities. Comfortable and the little private area with ashtray. Good to know there are still places for smokers No negatives
- Lorraine (10/5): - It was great value for money. Had everything we needed I contacted the staff that we had left something behind twice. They said to would talk to cleaners and get back to me. They haven't.
- Guest (8/5): -
- Craig (7/5): -
- Michelle (3/5): Ok - Tin opener needs replacing. Don't knock on the door at 9.50am when check out was 10am.
- Shaun (8/5): -
- Colleen (9/5): - This is my 9th stay so I must like it! I have a regular hospital appointment so it meets my needs very well. Just one English breakfast tea bag (but one was better than none!)
- Craig (9/5): - Modern apartment, all amenities available including washing machine and dishwasher washer
- Paula (8/5): - Love the space and set up. Great it had everything you needed. Love that they still accompate smokers and had the facility to smoke outside was great. Only had earl Grey tea which I think there should had been a choice of normal tea as well like English breakfast or just plain dilnah tea. Would not think alot of people would jyust have earl greyas there tea. Only thing I would fault with the place.
- Sue (10/5): perfect location and very comfortable bed and room had everything you need - Location was great my husband was in the hospital having heart surgery
very convenient just had to walk through the little park next door nothing
- Tanya (10/5): -
- Jason (6/5): Clean and well kept - Property was clean and spacious Terrible smell outside and very noisy from other rooms that went on into the night
- Anna (4/5): - It was clean and sufficient space for 2 people. I was not particularly impressed with my experience. Having to pick up the key from a completely different location than the apartment was inconvenient.
When I entered the lobby, the receptionist was assisting another guest, which I understand. However, she did not acknowledge my presence at all, with no eye contact or brief greeting, which made me feel ignored, especially given the small space where it was clear I was waiting.
After a few minutes, another gentleman arrived and assisted me. He was helpful, but I found him somewhat difficult to understand, which made communication a bit challenging.
There was also an unpleasant smell outside the apartment building, similar to a sewage odor. Fortunately, this was not noticeable once inside, but it meant we were unable to comfortably open the windows or doors.
Additionally, the bathroom sink was very small for the size of the bathroom, and the cabinet positioned directly above it made it quite difficult to even brush your teeth comfortably.
There was also significant noise during our stay. A family with young children was staying upstairs, and there was frequent running and door slamming, which made it uncomfortable for us. The apartment is located on a main street, which added to the noise, and being close to a hospital, we could also hear rescue helicopters landing.
Overall, due to the noise and other issues, I would not have wanted to stay at this accommodation for longer than one night.
- Patricia (9/5): Really enjoyed it clean tidy well maintained - Situated close to hospital May need earplugs for helicopter landing during the night
- Ruth (10/5): Lovely relaxing apartments - Comfortable, clean, lots of space, close proximity to hospitals and town, relaxing and clean.
- Tessa (5/5): Good basic accommodation, noisy road as it is a state highway and directly under helicopter path - Good location if you need quick access to the hospital
Good basic accommodation, noisy road as it is a state highway and directly under helicopter path, Dishwasher needs a clean, very very smelly, given only one towel a day
- Stephanie (9/5): Great service & accommodation value for money - Staff were for accommodating at getting us an early check in and late checkout out
Appartment Was clean and tidy.
- Kerri (9/5): Well appointed, comfortable apartment. - Car park space, full kitchenette and a washing machine! Outside area if you wanted to sit outside. Location, bit far out from city centre. However it was the weekend Homegrown was on & nothing more central available.
- Angela (8/5): Was good - Collecting the keys ...prefer to go to premises
- clinton a hayes (9/5): -
- Sammy (8/5): Great comfortable accomodation - Comfortable beds, great amenities. We came for an event and using Uber it was really close proximity to the venue. Better then I had expected and would definitely stay again. There was a horrible sewage overflow smell outside, the toilet flush pressure was exceptionally low so wondering if there was an issue in the line somewhere.
- lauren (5/5): - Weâll set up kitchen, good comfortable beds. Side entrance to the apartment which was nice and private. There was a terrible smell from the drainage that smelled like sewage. It was impossible to open the windows or door as the smell permeated all parts of the property.
Someone had entered the apartment while we were away without any notification. We did not like that we had not been asked first before entering. They had changed the towels which was nice but this is unacceptable to enter the apartment when we were not there.
- Shuntay (8/5): -
- Mcneil (7/5): It was most things we needed, and close to the hospital - We had to get the keys from a motel further away after a day in hospital. Needed a information book to give instructions how to use stove top, tv and other electrical devices.
- Joan (10/5): very handy to the hospital -
- Gloria Rennert (10/5): - Good location for the hospital Everything you need is there.
- Barbara (9/5): -
- Warwick (9/5): Comfortable and convenient - Space, convenience, very close to Waikato Hospital (5 minute walk). Resteraunts and takeaways only 35m away Having to fetch the key and check in from Ashwood Manor, 2.5km away
- Adrienne (9/5): - Great location to hospital
- Lorraine & Sharon (10/5): Quiet, Clean and Comfortable, however the male host at Ashworth is rude and not welcoming. - The location was quiet, clean, comfortable and having a smoking area outside for guests was awesome, it felt like a home away from home, well done. This was my third stay as my Dad has been in hospital over the last 2 months and being a walk away from the hospital was amazing, we could leave the car there and walk, no parking fees, no stress. The male host at Ashworth is rude and could cause you to lose customers, he made us feel like we had done something wrong, we did not feel welcome on this last stay. The third time we were told it was a $200 deposit when it was only $100 for the 2 previous stays. We only paid $100 for the last stay, however it took a week to refund the deposit, we called on the Tuesday and was told rudely by the male host that it was done and it would be in our account within 2 hours, it was not, we had to wait until the Friday before it showed up. Many of the phone calls following up the deposit owed to us were answered by the female host who was so nice and welcoming and was helpful. This is very unfortunate and me and my whÄnau will not be staying at Lorne apartments while the male host is still there.
- Neil (5/5): - Was clean but nothing remarkable. Road noise. We had a ground floor apartment and through our bedroom wall we could hear(and feel) the main entrance door opening and closing and then footsteps in the stairwell. Strong sewerage smell from the garden next door.
- Caitie (8/5): -
- Helen (7/5): Good value for money, would stay again - with ear plugs! - You couldn't change this, but traffic noise was loud.
- Cornelia (7/5): -
- june (8/5): - Close to the hospital. Clean. It had everything we needed. Great that it had a washing machine too. That we had to pick up the key from somewhere else. Foul smell outside. Had to carry our gears up 2 flights of stairs to get to our room.
- Lorraine (10/5): If you are looking for somewhere close to the hospital, this is the place for you! - I love everything about this property, this is my second time staying, I would highly recommend this property especially if you have someone in hospital that you need to get to quickly. Well done Lorne apartments. I loved everything, no negative feed back from me.
- june (8/5): - Close to the hospital. Clean & tidy. Shower had good pressure. It had a stove, & washing machine. I had to pick up the key from another place. That was annoying especially if you don't know the area. No elevator. We had to carry our stuff up 2 flights of stairs. There was a funny smell, like sewage outside the apartment. Beds were uncomfortable.
- Sarah (9/5): The accomodation is exactly what we needed for our overnight stay - The kitchen and lounge was perfect for our requirement.
The bed was very comfortable. Had the best sleep after a long day on the road There is a stench at the bottom in the carpark. Need to figure out what it is and get rid of the smell.
- Paige (6/5): -
- Rajendra (10/5): -
- Vicki (9/5): Very good, highly recommend - Cleanliness was very good, great facilities, great apartment, on fairly direct route to airport Lots of road noise, host didn't offer any general information about its location to shops, attractions etc. The street it's on very average
- Richard (10/5): 10/10 Excellent :) - Apartment B exceeded our expectation - everything was excellent imo. We 10/10 enjoyed our stay Smells funny outside?
- Brandy (9/5): -
- Tony (9/5): Perfect location to hospital - Clean, dry & within walking distance to hospital. The beds were super comfy with lovely fresh linen. All the home comforts. Nothing to say.
- Hepi (8/5): -
- Rachel (7/5): - The place was well priced for a two bedroom apartment. It was clean and tidy and the kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to cook. The apartment was located on a relatively busy road. It was only noisy in the morning so it was not a problem for us.
- Rhys (9/5): - Key pick up is a ttle out of the way
- Pete (5/5): As said. Unit very clean and tidy and the staff very friendly, polite, helpful and professional - The reception personal was great. Professional and polite. The unit was clean and tidy. Direct flight path for helicopters to the hospital. Cars speeding up and down the street with loud exhausts and to the people upstairs I could hear every footstep until 11pm
- Chris (8/5): - Location and value for money Previous cooking odour in the room
- Colby (9/5): -
- john (10/5): -
- Ropeti (6/5): Ok - Apartment complex Have to pick up the key from somewhere else
And you told us after we paid our apartment
If we knew it before we wouldnât stay there
Also the first key did not work on the second day and that was bad not good
- Judy (9/5): my husband was in waikato hospital and it was very handy. -
- Yvonne (7/5): Apart from the water issue we enjoyed our stay. - Liked everything about the apartment apart from having to go elsewhere to pick up the key Not having to go elsewhere to pick up the key; especially because we were dealing with operations at the hospital.A safe box would be the answer.
Also we didn't have hot water on the 2nd night or the next morning. For what we pay you expect a hot shower!
- Jason (8/5): Great location if you have family or friend staying at Waikato hospital. Nice modern apartment :) - Very close to Waikato Hospital, heat pump is new and silent/quiet (unlike some of the motel/apt units we have come across) .. overall a comfortable, tidy and modern apartment with ground floor units available. Netflix, YouTube available on the TV, Reception staff are friendly and helpful :) Toilet paper was on big industrial looking roll inside locked enclosure mounted on the bathroom wall (like the cheap loo paper setup you see at a garage, workshop or public toilet lol) Also no reception on site ..but wasn't too difficult to drive to location to collect swipe card/key a few km away. Close to busy road.. however the double glazed bedroom windows minimised road noise at night.
- Damien (7/5): - Spacious, very clean, and comfortable Having to collect keys from another address.
Noise from next apartment
- Colleen (8/5): - No Breakfast supplied, was not impressed that we had to go somewhere else to pick up the key, but the facilities were very nice.
- Sue (10/5): Would stay there again even if we didn't have to visit the hospital - Location was perfect as my husband had to be in day stay at the hospital
could walk through a small park next door up to the hospital
didn't have to worry about parking Quite noisey with the rescue helicopters landing through the night
but hey that's what you get for staying beside the hospital
- Mary (5/5): Not great. The noise upstairs was incredibly annoying and there was little to enjoy in the close by. - NA Not provided The noise from a neighboring apartment in the evening was pretty intolerable and went on until after 9pm at night.
- Vishal Vikash (10/5): -
- Wallace (10/5): -
- catherine (10/5): -

- Ruth (8/5): -
- Anil (5/5): - Was good that apartment was close to hospital walking distance The bad thing was sewage smell in driveway was really bad, canât even operate windows to get fresh air, and people next to our room was so loud and lots of banging noise that was so annoying part, and horrible part we found cockroaches on sofa area, txt to reception about it but no reply wasnât good service.
- Anil (5/5): - Sewage smell in driveway
- Veronica (8/5): Great location if visiting people in hospital. Short walk. Comfortable tidy well setup apartment. Great for short or lon - Tidy well setup apartments, spacious. Close to Hospital when family is in there. Noisy road but expected.
