• Baris (6/5): Nice place! - Friendly staff. Clean room, table and chair inside. Air con was very good also. The location is near the tourist sites but also in a noisy area. Make sure you ask for a room with no windows if you are sensitive to noise. During the week it’s not too bad, but Friday and weekends are very noisy due to the bars in the area. There needs to be a mirror in the room or at least in the bathrooms.

DON'T EVER TRUST PHOTO FOR MARKETING PURPOSE... TO BE HONEST... ITS TOO BAD... BED WAS LIKE U LAY ON moon CRATER. HOW COME SO NOISY SOUND IF U MKE A MOVE AT BED. - a whole night stay without sleep. WORST THING... TOILET GUTTER WAS DIRECTLY ON UR HEAD IF SOMEONE FLUSHING AFTER USE. And a bad thing, YOU CAN HEARD NEXT ROOM "NIGHT PROJECT".

• Neil (9/5): Great location - Great place, v conveniently located with great eats nearby. Nearby riverfront, historic part of city etc. clean organised property with water filling stn for water bottles. Good shower & bathroom. Highly recommend Noisy many nights especially Fri, Sat & holiday nights as night clubs, bars & karaoke nearby unfortunately. Need clothes hanging hooks in bathrooms & 2nd water filling stn on 2nd level

• Vicky (5/5): Déconseillé :( - Emplacement pratique pour visiter le water front. Proche de bars bruyants le week-end mais ce n’est pas très gênant en réalité. Ce n’est pas un logement propre ni bien entretenu. Taches sur les murs de la chambre, lit à même le sol, table abîmée, traces d’humidité sur les murs. Salle de bain commune vétuste et lavabos se détachant du mur, toilettes sales pendant plusieurs jours. Nous avons un doute sur le ménage qui ne semble pas ou peu être fait en dehors des chambres :/

• Siew Ping (9/5): - Definitely a bargain for the price. Just don't expect hotel standard at this price. The shared facilities are pretty basic and meet the essential needs (place may look a little rundown). The location is quite near to the waterfront area. There's a mall nearby (The Hill) and you can find eateries easily around the place within walking distance. There's a nearby Ceylonese restaurant famous for Indian dishes that were crowded every night when I passed by. I checked in slightly late during the first day & got a room in Level 2. The room is less soundproof (could be noisy during weekend) so the receptionist lady who is very helpful, offered me to switch to another room in Lvl 1 which is more quiet and comfy on the next day. The aircon is cold and queen bed is nice to sleep. A great choice for budget travelers who just need a place to rest.

• Angine (5/5): Week in Swanling - Very Big Room, small window. Receptionist/cleaner was friendly, nice. Liked the easy self check in. Descent location to waterfront, restaurants, and a very beautiful, well maintained park (Reserviour Park), within walking distance to all. Bed was very big, but bit uncomfortable for my back. Pillows were too flat. Washroom was too small and needs renovating. No tiolet seat in 1 of the 2 that was available, looks like parts of the washroom wall is rotting, or being eaten by some insect. Didnt feel comfortable taking a shower in it. Then on weekends (Friday & Saturday) extreme noise till 3am from the club next door. The base was disgustingly loud, piercing sound even with earplugs, could not sleep until it ended. Sat. night after it ended at 3:30am, people were screaming and fighting with each other, guess they were drunk from the club.

The staff Liza is very helpful.she even gave me some briefing about how to use the auto key and about sorroundings. Upstairs on 1st,2nd ,3rd level.rooms with window will get loud music from the bars (I'have been brief by Liza)

• Callis Jodi (8/5): Goed! - De wifi was ontzettend goed, locatie super, omringd door wat restaurantjes. Voelde veilig! Douches waren goed, warm en koud water en harde straal. Bedden lagen lekker. Airconditioning werkte super. Prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is erg goed. Dekens waren wel van een synthetische stof waardoor het snel warm werd als de airco uitstond. Ook harde muziek van de club om de hoek, neem oordoppen mee.

Mucho ruido durante la noche por discoteca al lado del hotel. Nos tuvieron que cambiar a una habitación interior sin ventana para minimizar el ruido pero aun así se escucha.

• Darren (9/5): There’s no frills about the place, but it’s clean, comfortable and really good value for the price. - Great location, and very friendly service. Room was big and the AC was powerful. For the price no complaints at all.

• Khalid (8/5): Simple, just what a tired solo traveller needs - Simple, just what a tired solo traveller needs Basic but the seasoned traveller will be used to it.
• Stefano (7/5): Good - Good position to visit the city center. Low mantainance of the toilets. The towels provided are too small.
• Yiu (7/5): Good stay - Room is big with just paying the price of a dorm. Hot water shower is strong and hot enough. Good value. 24hour shop and famous Ceylonese restaurant are in few steps distance. Good to have hanger, table and chair. Bed sheet is clean but with aging marks.

• Serena (8/5): Very good - The host is really nice, kind and helpful. The room it's very clean and also the common toilets are good enough! The only thing is that some room is closer to the street with some bar that have music until late, but others rooms are perfect and quite!
• Diane (8/5): Very good - The staff is super nice and helpful. The location is okay - 5 min by walk from the Waterfront. Some rooms overlook the street so it’s noisy with bars and club, especially at the end of the week. Careful when you book or make sure to have airplugs!!

Host is friendly Loud music nearby, ants and lizards crawling through the bathrooms through holes in the walls even, toilet seats removed, some sinks not usable, neither shower has hot water( one is warm). Very evident the pictures are outdated and do not match what is available to guests. Leaking bidets. Leaking roof from bathroom above. Mold visible. Threats of 100RM fines all over the place.

• Ever (10/5): I would stay here again next time - I really like staying here, it's very easy to get anywhere and the receptionist is very friendly and taught me a lot about walking around Kuching on my own. There is noise staying here but I don't mind my room has no windows and I sleep comfortably

I recommend to ask for a room on the second floor because the toilets and showers are better than the ones on the reception floor. I sleeped very well anyway. Shoutout to the Ceylonese indian restaurant nearby, best restaurant in town.

• Cathryn (8/5): A great vase for discovering Kuching - Swanling is in the perfect location. The manager was lovely and very helpful. It suited me perfectly as a comfortable budget hotel. The bathroom facilities are basic though adequate. I am a sound sleeper so the Friday and Saturday music from across the laneway didn’t really bother me, but if you are a light sleeper it might be an issue.
