Guest Reviews
- Nicole (10/5): Great base to explore Daylesford and surrounds. Dog friendly. Everything you could need. And the weather was good! - Great location. Easy stroll into town Nothing
- Yee Kie (8/5): -
- Victor (9/5): A cute, comfortable cottage in a great location. - Excellent location within walking distance to the Main Street and a short drive to Lakehouse and other places of interest. The cottage was comfortable, relaxing, quiet and warm on a cold weekend..So nice to get a good night’s sleep in peace and quiet too!
- Jonathan (10/5): Quiet, comfortable, well worth it. - Well equiped, nice touches Nothing in particular
- Anne (10/5): - Great location close to the main centre.
- Xanri (10/5): What a lovely short break away in this homey and warm and conveniently located cottage! We had a lovely stay and will be - The cottage was lovely! It was beautiful inside, gave a warm feeling and clean. It is located a short walk to the shops, restaurants and trails in the area. The cottage was also kitted our very well and had everything we needed and more! Lovely for a short break away! Was not anything really we did not like about it! We could not get the TV’s to work, but we were not there to watch tv anyway, so was not a big bother!
- Kate (10/5): Fabulous - It was so quaint, decorated beautifully, had all the amenities and lived having the fire to light and keep us cosy Na
- Dave (8/5): Comfortable and well provisioned 2 bedroom home, allowing dogs. - Well presented and comfortable accommodation for us, a family of 3 and a dog. Great to arrive to see a wine bottle and glasses. Good large lounge dining area, with lots of lighting options. Compact but provisioned kitchen. Lots of facilities and features but no guide listing them or how to use them - recommend adding this - we did not know the microwave was also an oven until day 2 and then there were no instructions on how to use it. Also the hydronic heating key pad was not described or easy to use. Unsure if the aircon was heating as well as cooling ...

- Sue (8/5): Great spot to see Daylesford! - Great location for walking into Daylesford and plenty of space for 4 adults. The kitchen was well resourced but felt a bit like camping as items were on a trolley. The decking outside was wobbly and rotten in places making it a bit concerning when walking on it.
- Margaret (9/5): Glorious cottage comfy and superb location - Location
Warmth
Comfy bed No smart TV
- Searle (8/5): -

- Louisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frances (10/5): Frances and Janet - Lovely little cottage, very comfortable and well socked with utensils, towels,, tea :) etc. Very close to
Eateries shopping. Loved it.
Will definitely stay here again Nothing we didn't like
- Elena (8/5): Very good - Clean property and in a lovely location. Walking distance to all shops TV was very outdated. Heating took a while as only hydronic and radiators. Split system was for cooling only.
- Hoare (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandra (10/5): Beautiful cottage with fantastic location in the heart of Daylesford - Loved the cottage we stayed in, so close to the Main Street (5min walk) and also around the corner from the Sunday market.
Dog friendly with floor boards throughout the house, beds were perfect, bathrooms clean and spacious. Would have loved to have access to a dust pan or vacuum as our dog was shedding some fur.
- Mauro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants and hotels
- Dianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janine (9/5): Daylesford, always more delightful with a stay in an original beautifully appointed cottage! - This lovely appointed 2 bed cottage in the heart of Daylesford is located perfectly to walk to the main strip (Vincent St) or the Daylesford hotel for a wide range of meal options, shopping, or just a beautiful walk around the wide open streets. Very close to The Convent, Cliffy's Emporium, and the Botanical Gardens. So much to see and do even if you just want to park the car and relax on the verandah or walk everywhere. Of course if you wish to drive a little further, you can easily reach The Mill Markets, Hepburn Springs, Daylesford Lake, Lavendula etc - all in very close proximity and definately worth a visit. This is the second time we have stayed at Maple Daylesford, the first was a few years back and the owner provided a plentiful selection of local produce, such as bread, eggs, jam, chocolate and wine which we love to use and saves a breakfast cost. It seems the property is now booked through Daylesford Accommodations and this attention to detail was missing. For the cost of two nights at a property of this caliber, we were expecting some local provisions however our stay was still delightful, the ambiance of the cottage made up for what we missed.
- Manuel (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (8/5): Really peaceful and pleasant little cottage - Very cozy and warm I had hoped there was an oven in kitchen, as we planned to eat in.
Great being dog friendly- but no secure backyard for dogs to be in.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (9/5): We loved our stay. A very cosy and lovely place. - Exceptionally clean. Very comfortable beds, lovely linen. Fantastic bathroom. Excellent location.
Bottle of wine was a lovely treat. Would have preferred to have off street parking. Seemed to us there would have been room for car of first cottage as well as second cottage.
Fantastic for short stay, but wouldn’t be ideal for longer stay as no oven or dishwasher.
- Owen (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandra (9/5): Great stay would stay again! - Great location can walk to the Main Street No outdoor space, due to the cottage being a house but split in two and the back section had the garden!
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Manu (9/5): Great place, clean and close to restaurants and shops -
- Susan (9/5): Cosy, comfortable & relaxing reset with friends. - Great location. Cosy vibe.
- Linda (9/5): Superb - Clean and comfortable and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Had everything we needed for a weekend away with my daughters. Nothing
- Claudio (9/5): Overall great! Thank you! - Delightful cottage. Great location walking distance to Convent and town. Very quiet, clean and comfy beds. Lots of fluffy towels.
Our son loved the spa bath. Huge bathroom! No backyard at all.
Is attached to another residence and their carpark was outside our bedroom window. Had to park in street but no issue with that.
Perhaps a manual on how to use the heater and other info would have been helpful. We turned it off and couldn’t get it back on.
- Dave (7/5): Enjoyable week wandering the Daylesford area. - Location was convenient to town. Weather was cold so the fireplace & provided wood was very pleasant. House also has centrally controlled hydronic heating so very comfortable throughout. The thermostat was in the rear bedroom in the corner of the room. Didn't find instructions but easy to use. Switch to manual & set temp.
We enjoyed a variety of things in the area over a week - walks in the national parks, waterfalls, parkrun at Creswick. Lots of nice treats from the boutique grocer just down on the corner a few minutes walk away. A winery find on the way back from Creswick was just awesome. Do yourself a favour & check out Captains Creek - book ahead if it's a busy period. Food & wine was awesome as was the view from this out of the way location's deck.
Beppe around the corner was a great night out, definitely book. Have suggested to hosts that they put together instructions for the heating system. Also that they up the cleaning in a specific area. Erin emailed back straight away to say they're on it and appreciated the feedback. The kitchen is fine if you're planning on eating out around Daylesford but it is basic.
- Yelda (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kristie (9/5): Superb -
- June (9/5): Compact Cottage was comfortatable and everything you needed for weekend getaway! - compact cottage, had everything we needed
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rawia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): A wonderful cottage for a luxurious few days in Daylesford - Maple Daylesford is a lovely two bedroom cottage that made a perfect base for a 3 night stay. Although it was mid summer we had a cold snap and having the reticulated hot water heating on when we arrived made the place cosy over the entire stay. It was cold enough to justify a fire in the fireplace which added a nice ambience to the lounge room.
With two large bedrooms (both queen beds) and huge bathroom and good kitchen there was everything we could want.
The house is an older property but has retained the old charm while having all the mod cons needed.
Its location is perfect, a short walk into town or up the hill to the Convent (amazing) or to the many shops in town, or to Cliffy's for breakfast or Bistro Terrior, Beppe's or the Boathouse for dinner. Its not clear where to park as the spot beside the house is actually for the property behind. The people in the place behind complained so the agents texted me, and while there was space for them to park, I did recall some instruction somewhere in the fine print but couldn't find it when we checked in. A small sign on driveway, or even a notice at the key lock box would be helpful.
- Ruth (8/5): Very good - Great location and ambiance
- Barbro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yeshi (5/5): Passable -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (9/5): A lovely stay in Daylesford - A very nice cottage in a great location It would have been nice to have a welcome book giving details relating to the property eg. How to work the heating system.
- Gerald (8/5): Very good -
- Carrie (1/5): Unhelpful, dismissive agents - Location was ok Daylesford Country Retreats are the most unhelpful, patronising and dismissive rental agents in Daylesford. If you want a holiday where you know you’ll be backed by an agent if things go sour - don’t use them. Greedy, selfish, liars.
- Gillian (10/5): Cosy stay in walking distance to everything we needed - Loved the having a cosy fire for the cold weather
- Lucinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (9/5): enjoyed it - The fire was good it was cosy . great location the key lock was painful and frustrating to use . My Wife felt the mattress was very ordinary especially for the price we paid
