• Joyce (10/5): I was so impressed with these accommodations that I have already booked for next summer! - Almar Apartments are conveniently situated in the city center of Póvoa de Varzim in Rua de Junqueira, an area that has various shops, bakeries, restaurants, small grocery stores, and walking distance to a casino. I loved how accessible everything was including the beach and metro station, both only minutes away. When I arrived I contemplated renting a car only to realize that I could get to Porto, and other places of interest, using the metro. I ended up saving money on a car rental which was a pleasant surprise. Although the location alone was wonderful, I was incredibly impressed by how modern and well appointed the apartment was as well as how helpful and friendly the host was. Coming from Canada, I'm used to certain comforts and was very happy to find these in my accommodations (E.g. reliable Wi-Fi, updated and clean living space as well as excellent water pressure...this matters to me 😉). Having a kitchen, stove, fridge, and dishwasher was fantastic and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the wall mounted closet system was. I have been to Portugal many times, and have stayed in various apartments and hotels. This was by far the best accommodation of all! I liked it so much that I've already booked for next summer for a big family trip.
• Joel (10/5): Local, authentic and the best food/drink! - Bruno who runs the apartment is an amazing, kind and caring host who went above and beyond for the duration of our stay. He gave us his WhatsApp number and he was happy to help suggest places to eat and also activities/areas we would enjoy! The apartments are all unique (5 in total) and have all the amenities you need (as well as being in a beautiful historic building). Povoa has a multitude of bars, restaurants, shops and much more (without it having a busy city vibe). I lived off sangria, tapas and all the amazing steaks 🥩 10/10, would recommend.
• Dominique (10/5): Home away from home - The apartment was just off the historical shopping street without traffic and close to the beach and anything important. It was very modern and clean. Bruno was a perfect host.
