Guest Reviews
- Gillian (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing with spectacular views. - Beautiful, peaceful location. Perfect for walking or exploring. Really well equipped. Very homely. Friendly, helpful host. Perfect for us, nothing we didn't love.
- Lorenzo (9/5): Traditional and suggestive house in a quiet village - Braeside is a traditional and well preserved cottage in a peaceful village close to the sea. The place is stunning for its beauty and silence. The cottage lies in a wonderful position, but only if you love quietness and you don't mind silence around you. The owner, Flora, is friendly and supportive. The house is equipped for all needs and it's fit for families. Excellent experience overall: I reccomend it Kitchen is a bit small for a large group (more than 4 people)
- Jakub (10/5): - Our stay at Flora was very pleasant for us. Flora is very communicative and has no problem advising us on anything. It was always an experience for our expedition to drive to our accommodation through the sheep paddock, with sheep standing around the car. The house itself was more than adequately equipped and added to the atmosphere of our adventure on Skye.
Thank you
- Jerome (10/5): -
- Bryony (10/5): - The property had everything we needed
- Don (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location, near the water in a remote village. The location is a bit challenging mostly for food. Plan ahead on what groceries you want to bring to the house and make reservations ahead of time so you know where you are going to eat each day.
- Hugo (9/5): Superb - Lovely views and a comfy house and very friendly hosts
- Dominique (8/5): Perfect accommodation for discovering Skype - Charming host. A typical Skype household with plenty of features - including cleanliness and equipment. magnificant sunsets. Idéal situation to discover the fascination of Skye. All fine
- Valerie (10/5): Home from home. - The owners where very warm and welcoming.
Anything we needed they would go out of there way to make are stay memorable and comfortable.
The cottage was charming and full of character very clean and homely.
A home from home.
Will be booking again. for next year.
loved so much . There is nothing not to like.
- Patrick (10/5): Cozy cottage on Skye, what more could you want! - Very cool location on a quieter and cozy part of Skye! Clean and comfortable cottage
- David (9/5): Superb - Everything you needed was there. Beautiful position and views. We loved everything, but some may not like the remote location. For us, that was an added bonus.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna-marie (10/5): Skye has our heart! - Beautiful remote cottage, the views are amazing and the cottage its self has so much charm! The nearby beaches are lovely and the drive into the village offers a glimpse into what the Isle of Skye is like! Very close to the ferry which is perfect for convenience Nothing!
- Stewart (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Flora and Ronnie were absolutely brilliant hosts - very friendly and helpful. - Wonderful hosts, fantastic house, amazing location! Nothing
- Peter (10/5): Loved the highlands! - Lovely property in a beautiful location
- Sally (10/5): So glad we found this place! - Beautiful quiet spot away from the crowds. House had everything we needed for our family (2 adults, 13&10 y/o kids). Flora is lovely and so welcoming.
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic quiet and peaceful location
- Danielle (9/5): Lovely remote cottage on beautiful Skye - Rural location in southern Skye. Loved the conservatory where we could read and watch the birdlife. Beds were super comfy and view from kitchen was superb! The kitchen was very cold (particularly the floor).
- Bridget (8/5): We had a lovely time and made some great memories with dear old friends. - The beach was wonderful. We had good swims and felt very secluded. Its a great spot if you are wanting to get away from the tourist hoards. Flora was so friendly and nice and gave us firewood one night to warm ourselves up which we really appreciated. The location was maybe just a little bit further than we'd have liked to get to the main tourist spots - but that is definitely NOT something Flora could have improved on! We hadn't realised it was a bit of a distance to get to a shop - so visitors should come stocked up.
- Philip (10/5): Beautiful, quiet location with stunning views. - Beautiful location with mountain view. Very friendly, helpful host. Spacious, comfortable accommodation. Lots of scenic drives nearby. We had a great time.
- Anonymous (7/5): Lovely big house, nice location. The owners brought us home made scones which was lovely. - Lovely location, it is in the south so more off the beaten track but we loved the location. Nice sized rooms. Lovely garden. It was really tricky to find, the rooms were good sized but had a lot of furniture in them which wasn’t needed really. The road / driveway to the house is very steep and uneven / loose surface.
- Til (10/5): Great place, go for it! - The location and the cottage was perfect, old, suited the surroundings. Deer in the garden when we arrived. Amazing views. Excellent location for travelling. The host was lovely, logs provided for a very easy to use log burner.
Lovely large garden and sunroom. All facilities to make for a perfect holiday.
So ask for directions as once you know, it's easy to find. One of the attractions was being off the beaten track. Lovely locals.. Would love to return... Our stay was too short!!
- Ulla (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay for our three engineers. Suited all their needs.

- Piotr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iain (10/5): relaxing - nice location great host
- Adrian (8/5): Fantastic remote location with awesome views and wildlife, great hosts- amazing 'wee things' for us - Super friendly/helpful hosts. The 'wee treats' provided were first class. Location lovely and remote - amazing views from the cottage, watched an otter 3 miles cycle away. Good size rooms. Stove in the living room and fuel provided. Comfy beds. Only that the cottage was a bit cold at times - as the storage heaters cooled down. Other electric heaters were provided but we didn't like to use them too much knowing the cost of electricity at the moment. Appreciate that after Easter would be very different.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - No words can provide adequate description of one the most beautiful places in the UK, so remote and out of the way, its untouched perfection. The views from the kitchen are unmached even by Switzerland.
Charming traditional cottage with a sea view in a traditional island crofting community, with woodburning stove to cosy together and enjoy each others company, amazingly hospitable owner, who was near by for anything we needed. Genuine period charm, with antique furnishings giving you a real nostalgic feel.
Great for dog owners, with amasing walks all round and as a working croft there are animals near by to keep kids entertained.
Absolutly stunning. Nothing, loved every bit of it
