- Philippa (6/5): The accommodation description badly needs to be amended. Otherwise adequate. - Hosts were amiable. The flat was clean and quiet. The location was suitable for my purposes (though the bus stop round the corner is only served half=hourly at peak times; if you don't have much to carry it can be better to walk further to the Antrim Rd for frequent buses). The accommodation is on a residential street but beside a road with shops and eateries. It is outside the city centre, but that means you can easily go for country walks on the Cave Hill. The listing is currently very poorly worded. I expected a "one bedroom apartment" to be a small private flat attached to the hosts' own residence. Instead the guest gets a small bedroom in the host's own flat. Yet the listing says "The entire place is yours - 1 bedroom, 2 beds, 1 bathroom Kitchen, Microwave, Refrigerator, Oven". I don't know why the listing says there is one single and one double bed (photos shown are of the room with one single bed in which I stayed). The wardrobe in the room was full of the hosts' own clothes and space was cleared for me after my arrival. The bed needs a mattress topper; the springs are very obvious just below the mattress surface. I'd have liked more light, for reading, in the bedroom. The flat has a very large sitting room with kitchen, but there is very little counter space - especially awkward when all three of us were preparing meals at the same time. The back of a settee served to divide kitchen and sitting area; I would move the settee and install a long narrow work table between leisure and kitchen space. I didn't see any waste basket in bedroom or bathroom (I suspect there is a waste basket under the bathroom sink, but I couldn't open the child-proof latch!) These are all things which can be improved.
