Guest Reviews
- Astrid (10/5): - Lovely guesthouse with beautiful garden. Very cosy and clean apartment. Lovely decorated kitchen with all the things you need. Nice bathroom, comfy bed and great couch and chair to relax in with a book.
Very good communication with the host. And I need to mention this: I got addicted to the hunting smell of the body wash/lotion product of the white hare provided by the hosts. I simply loved it. Overall a perfect stay and it was exactly what you hope for by thinking about a cottage.
- Lolita (10/5): - Tout, l’emplacement au calme, la décoration, les attentions (les viennoiseries et muesli pour le petit déjeuner, le dessert)…

- Ruth (10/5): A little gem - This is a really special place. The Appin area is beautiful and has good quality restaurants nearby. We walked to The Old Inn and enjoyed another night at The Pierhouse.
Great location for daytripping to Oban/Mull, Glencoe, Glen Finnian etc.
The Corrie apartment is more spacious than it looks online and the quality of the fit out exceeded our expectations. The setting is so lovely too.
Great communication with Abi. Laundry access was a handy bonus.
Absolute gem of a place Maybe the bed was a little softer than we are used too.
- Philip (10/5): We needed an overnight stop close to Oban and couldn’t have picked a more charming cosy place, our hosts we very helpful - Lovely decor and very peaceful surroundings. It has lots of old world charm. Nothing to dislike - ticked all the boxes for an overnight stay
- Alexandra (10/5): Lovely peaceful break in a beautiful old property that definitely charms you on arrival and during your stay. - Property was warm and welcoming, the decor was lovely and suited the style of the building. The gardens and grounds were lovely to wander round. Our dogs were very welcome too. Nothing
- Gabrielle (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay on the west coast - Our stay was fantastic we had some lovely pastries and cakes and some butter and milk left in a welcome pack. The location is great you can walk along the cycle track to the old inn in about 25 mins and there are some lovely walks nearby the host left a book with some great recommendations. The apartment is at the back of the main White House it was extremely clean with everything you could need, bed was comfy and lovely soft towels and dressing gowns. I would definately stay again. Nothing
- Irena (8/5): Thank you, Abi, for your hospitality. - The property was very clean, quirky, cosy and very well equipped! Abi was also very accommodating, which was much appreciated! We also received a beautiful welcome ‘pack’ - which included pastries and cake, bread, milk, butter etc. From the photos on Booking.com, I was expecting the apartment to be in the big white house, however, it was in an annex, in the back of the big house.
We also had another apartment on top of our apartment and we could hear noises coming from upstairs, so it was not as quiet as expected.
The bed was not as comfortable and I would have preferred white bedding (as in the photos on Booking.com).
The driveway from the street to the apartment also might require a bit of fixing, as it had several big holes, which were difficult to avoid.
Nenhum ponto negativo.
- Megan (10/5): You should definitely book to stay here! - The location is unreal! Our stay here was amazing and we will definitely be booking again and urging friends to visit Kinlochlaich!
We notified the owners that we were bringing our dog and were surprised when we arrived to find a box with dog bowls, dogs treats and towels - it was so thoughtful and an extra touch that made us feel very welcome. The owners also left pastries, cakes, granola, milk and butter and teas/coffees which again was unexpected and appreciated.
One morning we woke up to see chickens roaming outside the window, and a friendly cat came and sat on the kitchen windowsill!
The apartments are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, and Abi and her husband were welcoming hosts and very friendly! Genuinely the place was fantastic and we have no criticisms. The only thing (and this isn’t a criticism it’s just something for those with small cars to consider) is the drive is quite pot-holey. However, this made no difference to us and if anything, it was still better than half the roads in the city where we live!
- Pastinelli (10/5): - Spacieux, fonctionnel, joli. Super accueil !!
- Kingdon (10/5): 2 night stay - Great location for walks and local restuarants. Lovely apartment with thoughtful touches throughout. Nothing
- Ruth (10/5): -
- Chris (10/5): -
- Karin (10/5): -
- Christopher (8/5): Super base for our short stay. Thank you very much. - Very comfortable rooms. Kind and thoughtful gluten free welcome pack. Responsive and helpful host. The folk in the rooms above us were quite noisy until late in the night.
- Robert (9/5): A nice surprise in the Columbus apartment - Original and practical If there was a criticism it would only be about neighbour noise but in an older building it can be inevitable
- Josef (10/5): An amazing stay in Appin - Beautiful surroundings, cleanliness and amenities of the apartment, amazing welcome package, friendly owners Nothing to complain about
- Karen (10/5): Just perfect! - What a beautiful apartment! Had the loveliest, most comfortable stay and really enjoyed. We’d been road tripping around Lorn and Kintyre (me and the dog!) and our final two nights were spent here… it couldn’t have been more perfect! Beautifully furnished, a really comfortable bed and sofa and a well equipped kitchen. Really appreciated all the delicious extras left in the welcome pack - thank you!
Appin is a beautiful area and would highly recommend the walk over the Jubilee Bridge to see Castle Stalker and the stunning Clach Toull walk at beautiful Port Appin. So many other beautiful places so visit close by too! Would highly recommend! Nothing!
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Farhat (10/5): Beautiful apartment in a beautiful location - I recently stayed at this beautiful and comfortable apartment and it exceeded all expectations. The attention to detail was impeccable, and the entire space was designed with both style and functionality in mind. What truly set this apartment apart were the thoughtful extras, such as the welcome pack filled with breakfast items, making the stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a top-notch experience. Nothing
- Iain (9/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Lovely place and location, very relaxing - Very nice and helpful hosts, cute house, well equipped and close to lovely walks and the coast. It was a bit noisy when someone was staying in the flat above, other than that it was great
- Wioleta (10/5): Lovely vintage style, kind hosts, and thoughtful welcome treats – a great stay! - The place was very beautiful, and the hosts were kind and helpful. They even left us some welcome treats like pastries, fruit, and other delicious goodies in the kitchen. Everything was decorated in a lovely vintage style, which gave the place a really charming atmosphere
- Dario (10/5): Surprisingly lovely place! - What a lovely place! And a big surprise to be the neighbours of one of the most famous and beautiful garden centres of Scotland! Highly recommended! To leave...
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leander (10/5): Amazing property with fantastic hosts - We arrived on a clear and sunny day, which really made the beautiful house stand out when the sun was shining on it. There was plenty of parking space and Abi, who was an extremely friendly and helpful hostess came out to greet us and to give us a tour of the apartment. The apartment was absolutely amazing and decorated in a very cosy manner. I recall my girlfriend saying that it was almost a shame that it was such nice weather outside as we wouldn't have mind spending more time inside. Abi also placed some breads, milk and butter in the kitchen, which was very nice.
The bathtub was a great feature after a long day of hiking Absolutely nothing
- Jean (10/5): Beautiful wee gem - Beautiful apartment in a renovated
old house. Clean, very comfortable. Lovely welcome pack , cakes, pastries, and fruit.
Beautiful fresh flowers, a lovely touch. Nothing
- Aaron (10/5): Would highly recommend - The owners were very helpful. If you go to Scotland for a great experience with nature and scenery, this place will set you up for it. Beautiful property and the area itself is great for wildlife and dramatic scenery. The owners were very helpful with suggestions and the home is warm and welcoming.
- Graham (9/5): Garden Pitt stop - Characterful
Surrounded by flowers and fauna and garden centre .
Thoughtful layout .
Near to the fabulous Old inn Appin Self catering but if booked for 1 night expensive .
- Annette (9/5): Superb -
- Darrell (10/5): Lovely period charming house - Appreciated the fresh flowers and lovely toiletries and welcome goodies .
- Tina (10/5): A dream to relax and enjoy the nature - The place is a dream! And the owners are lovely people. Helped us with the luggage and all whole apartment is well equipped. Loved the details and the flowers 🌹 on the table.
- Louisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (9/5): Just lovely - Beautiful setting and a lovely apartment Could do with a little soundproofing in the ceiling
- Liam (10/5): Amazing place! - Beautiful guest house with very nice surroundings and in a great location.
The hosts were absolute amazing and made us feel like home
- Emma (10/5): Excellent Property - Excellent location, facilities are spot on with some lovely welcoming touches. Had a great short stay and will definitely be back.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (10/5): Cozy place. Ideal. -
- Pauline (10/5): Amazing! - The apartment was lovely, it literally had everything you needed for a self catering stay!
All the small personal touches were just amazing!
Abi and Jason were so helpful and kind. Nothing!
- Carolyn (9/5): Would highly recommend a stay at this property. - Warm, cozy property. Lovely welcome pack provided by the hosts. Excellent location. Dog friendly.
- Kit (10/5): Very cosy and warm apartment with friendly hosts in a lovely location - Perfect quiet apartment in a lovely area. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Comfy bed, great kitchen. Perfect.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely apartment - everything you could possibly need. Really cosy, clean and peaceful! We had a really great stay! Abi is a really responsive host and left some super thoughtful touches and welcome treats as well as being very helpful in recommendations! Definitely recommend as a place to base yourself to explore to beautiful area of Appin!
- Zoe (10/5): A wonderful place both inside and out with every amenity you need for a home away from home. - It was gorgeous. Plenty of parking space, the local taxi service knows it well, the wildlife around is good for nature and animal lovers alike (when I opened my kitchen curtains that first morning I saw chickens roaming around outside). There are plenty of books and DVDs in the foyer for guests to take to their apartments and read/watch. There is plenty of garden furniture outside so if the weather permits you could sit outside. The apartment itself was very clean and homely. You don’t need to bring anything with you in terms of kitchenware I’d say as there are all the usual pots, pans, cheese grater, kettle, strainer, scissors, etc. Plenty of kitchen towels and bathroom towels too and I’m sure if you needed anything the owners are easy to contact as they included their phone number in the welcome book. The welcome book has everything you need to know including check in/ check out procedure and what you can do in the surrounding area and what you can find in your apartment. The wifi code and password was on a piece of paper in the kitchen on the cabinet and the wifi is very fast which I was really thankful for. The living area space and bedroom was combined into one large room which would be good for people with limited mobility (I was on the ground floor). I had the soundest sleep I have had in a while in that large, soft bed. The TV has plenty of channels and there is a large quarter length mirror and plenty of hangers. There are also plenty of lighting options (the big light, bedside lamp, two floor lamps). The bathroom was spacious with a combined shower and bath and a mirror above the sink and a smaller mirror on the shelf for if you need to see yourself up close for doing makeup etc. Plenty of toilet roll and hand towels and luxury shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. I honestly couldn’t have wanted anything more and I would absolutely stay here again if I found myself out that way again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. There was nothing I didn’t like. If I had to be really picky I’d say If you prefer a bar of soap to liquid hand wash then bring your own as I did. That’s literally it.
- Claire (10/5): Perfection, the small touches were so thoughtful ❤️ - The apartment was perfect really cosy and comfy the owners were fabulous met us in the car park and took us in to the apartment. We were there for my sons wedding and my husband didn’t have his cuff links in his kilt bag and we borrowed the hosts husbands which was incredibly kind forever grateful. Our stay was not long enough
- William (10/5): best place ever for me - nice apartment with plenty of space clean lovely wee touches like a well come pack. great location so peaceful dog friendly no extra charges as wee had two dogs most hotels were asking £10 each dog per night as we stayed 4 nights great savings. thought maybe of extraction fan in kitchen for cooking as was had wee bit of steam when cooking rice no problem as we opened window. not a big issue to be fair there is nothing I did not like would love to go back again it is up there with best place that I had ever stayed .
- Pauline (10/5): Lovely weeks holiday spent here. Glorious surroundings and very comfortable accommodation. - Great location and cosy apartment.
- Alex (8/5): Cosy flat - The heating in all of the rooms was a welcome touch, given the cool, wet weather during our stay. The large bed was very comfortable, and the bed/living room quite spacious.
The welcome pack provided in the flat was delightful, and the hosts were very friendly.
The bathroom was modern, with good water pressure and temperature from the shower over the bath.
- Peter (10/5): Excellent. - On our arrival Abi was in her garden, so made welcome from the beginning, there was everything in a welcome package to make a wonderful first breakfast and most of our breakfasts during our stay, homemade cake and shortbread too. These were all good quality provisions and the fresh eggs Abi sells also made a supper on one evening too. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend staying with Abi to everyone who is in the area, you will be made very welcome. NOTHING…. everything was beyond expectations!
- Graham (10/5): Hard working and attentive staff. - Everything. Lovely garden and outside sitting area. Community shop in Port Appin or go to supermarkets in Oban. Nothing
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful garden, so tranquil. Loved quirky wee things in property, well thought out. Owners friendly and helpful. Nothing
- Audrey (10/5): Amazing accommodation. I can only recommend it. - This place is just amazing. Its location is perfect: 30 minutes away from Glencoe and Oban, and Appin is very close.
There are many lovely walks to start from the location.
The apartment itself is really cozy and really well decorated. You found everything you need to cook. It is really spacious. The owners are also really welcoming. They even give you a welcome pack with some delicious sweets.
The garden is pretty, and there is a courtyard that you can enjoy. I can only recommend this accommodation. Nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - this place is amazing none
- Kat (9/5): Fabulous. - Property and area gorgeous. Bed very comfortable, apartment very cosy and nice and quiet. Little touches like providing bread, milk and cake etc was really lovely and much appreciated after a long journey. Owners lovely and friendly. Had a great time and would definitely come back. Nothing negative to say. Everything great!
- Neal (9/5): Beautiful place to stay. - So helpful to find some basic supplies on arrival- milk, oil, salt and pepper. Adequate loo paper! When travelling, especially by bus or train sometimes, one cannot carry all these things. Lovely cakes too! Beautiful grounds. Nicely furnished rooms.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - The little touches, like the welcoming platter; the setting, with super garden and easy to get to,. I felt that everything had been thought of. That we had to leave! We had a big hike the morning of our departure and had to leave early.
- Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karon (10/5): It was perfect - Welcoming hosts, lovely place, beautiful part of the country Nothing
- Johnduncan (9/5): Really good, had to stop my partner stealing the cats - Really nice and clean. Not far a walk from stalker’s castle and port Appin. Just nice and cozy
- James (10/5): Everything I love: comfort, quaintness, wildlife, lochs, hills, islands. - The charming setting at the big house, with an avenue of daffodils in full bloom, so much bird life and the hens! Loved the outdoors seating area with its fairy lights. I can imagine relaxing there in the height of summer. Excellent standard of interior with stylish soft furnishings and lighting. Abi had provided very thoughtful touches like bread, butter and milk. The fresh tulips and freesias on the kitchen table were lovely. And endless hot water. I just loved the charm and old cottage feel to Corrie. And a garden centre on site in the old walled garden! Perfect setting for walking and cycling. We enjoyed exploring Lismore. Nothing at all
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terri (10/5): Lovely break in a lovely place 10/10 - Beautiful apartment in a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Hosts were lovely, super helpful. Great information provided on walks and where you can to go in the area plus plenty at the house to keep you entertained. Mines was a last minute overnight stay and I didn’t get to make the most of the facilities and exploring the area. Wanting to go back later in the year for longer! No downside
- Sasha (10/5): Fantastic - The whole thing!
The little touches were lovely, i said I had a nut allergy and was provided with nut free snacks to enjoy Nothing we didn’t like! Faultless from start to finish
- Kelly (9/5): Exceeded expectations - This place is a hidden gem. Other than being greeted on arrival across the courtyard by an enormous gorgeous cat, I didn't see anyone the whole time I was there, but despite that, it was clear the hosts were extremely thoughtful and welcoming. The key was ready, the apartment was super clean and warm, and the welcome pack was a.lovely touch. A full kitchen and bathroom complete with local produce were an absolute treat. Water hot, water pressure great, bed comfortable. Plenty parking. Dark skies. Dog friendly. Already planning when I can come back. Thanks Abi. No negatives!
- Philip (9/5): Lovely wee apartment in a beautiful place. Very thoughtful host. -
- Renaud (10/5): Amazing apartment in an idyllic setting - The location is amazing and the flat was bigger than expected. It was well furnished and really cosy. We loved the small touches on arrival and felt very welcome.
- John (9/5): Great apartment for a couple - and a great location to tour Appin and Argyll. - Location was ideal for our needs. Nearly half way between Oban and Fort William - with great eating places at both ends - and more in-between!
The apartment was an ideal size for us with an excellent welcome pack - and an extremely comfortable bed! The outdoor seating area will be great in spring/summer but it was a wee bit damp during our stay (Scots winter weather!).
Geographically there are lots to do - driving / walking / hiking / boat trips etc etc.
Love to go back in summer time.
- Fiona (10/5): Beautiful cosy apartment - Beautiful, cosy apartment in a beautiful setting. Lovely little garden that you could relax in during warmer months. The hosts were amazing! So friendly and helpful. The apartment had everything you would need for a self catering stay.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect in every way. Lovely little touches to make you feel welcome. Nice, peaceful little corner of the world.
- Stuart (9/5): Superb - Location
View's
Outdoor space
Peace and quiet
Friendly staff
Bread, milk, butter, cereal was left for us by our host's
Very good of them indeed .. Not enough hot water
As my partner had a bath
I'd been out a long walk
So I wanted a Hot shower
But unfortunately
My shower was cold ..
Few hours later it was hot again
But still cold when needed
- V (9/5): Superb -
- Elisabeth (10/5): Perfect place to stay in the Highlands - The appartement is just wonderful! Cozy, clean, nicely decorated with an eye for details, well equipped...the location is just great! Rural and remote area, with lots of wildlife you can see from the window. If you want to go out for pubs or food there is Oban and Fort William not too far away (but I also can recommend the closer restaurants like the old Inn and the pierhouse, as well as the castle Stalker Café). You can go for hikes and strolls directly from the house. If you have a car: all the nice places such as Glenfinnan, Glen Coe, Ben Nevis are just a short drive away.
The owners are very friendly people, so welcoming and they made sure we've got everything we needed.
The cats (they are outside) get an extra 10/10 for cuteness. Time went by too fast.
- Sharon (8/5): Great welcome, host very helpful. Lovely apartment. - Good location. The sofa was a sofa bed and not so comfortable to sit on.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (9/5): A great find, I will use again when it fits my travel needs. - Clean, comfortable, spacious apartment in a beautiful, quiet location. The provision of milk, butter, porridge, bread and cakes was an unexpected and welcome bonus. Perhaps better signage for the apartment from the car park would have been useful, but a very minor issue.
- Nicole (10/5): Perfect spot from which to explore a beautiful (not too crowded) area. - Appin is a magical little spot and Abi and her family were wonderfully thoughtful hosts. The apartment was so comfortable, clean, well appointed-she thought of everything. My phone charger split and within seconds of me inquiring if they had an extra, her daughter was at my door and it was mine to use. There are so many wonderful hikes in the area- and the bike path linking the whole community is minutes from the property. As a midway point on a 2 week solo trip around Scotland, this place couldn't have been more perfect (even had laundry available if I needed it). I loved laying in bed, watching Netflix, cozy and warm after a long day of hiking and exploring. This is the one spot I allowed myself to really sleep in on my journey- it felt that good to be there. Seascapes and rugged mountains await you.
- Catherine (9/5): Perfect apartment & location - The apartment was very well thought out. A lot of time had gone into little details or accessories. The owners were able to assist with changing the double bed to twin beds, and it was lovely to have some cake and breakfast left. A good location, very satisfied and would come back to stay. I can't think of anything that I didn't like.
- Jonathan (10/5): Calm retreat between Oban and Fort William - The place is really well located to visit the south part of the Highlands.
We spent a really nice time with all the comfort expected and even more ! Thanks to Abi and Jason's attentions and advices !
- Anna (9/5): Above the expectations - Almost everything The couch on which one person slept was uncomfortable
- Annabel (10/5): would absolutely recommend the apartment, area & hosts we would love to come back - welcoming, friendly & helpful hosts, lovely clean spacious apartment with a bed I would’ve liked to take home it was so comfy! wonderful area to explore & Abi provided a lot of useful local info re local walks & things to do that we had to leave & come home!
- L.r.executive (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (10/5): Loved it - Fantastic apartment and facilities. Everything you need included. Handy welcome items too. Loved the location, so peaceful. The seating area and gardens are just beautiful. Owner was really welcoming and friendly. Nothing
- Jason (10/5): Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, great hosts. We will definitely be staying again. - Great location, beautiful property with great hosts. n/a
- Anne-camille (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay in this very comfy and cosy cottage. - We really loved the authenticity and the charm of the house.
We also particularly appreciated the kindness and the attention of our hosts. Abi had the delicate attention to provide homemade pastries and nice flowers (the cupcakes and shortbreads were delicious) ! Nothing, it was perfect.
- Robin (10/5): A fairytale stay in a beautiful little castle - The location was like a fairytale. I loved the chickens walking around the house and the atmosphere of the building. The building is very old but very well taken care of. Everything is so clean and very nice decorated. The bed was very good, the shower was good as well and the kitchen was fully equipped. They welcomed us with a tray with tea, cookies, and self-made cake, which was amazing! This is a great location to see the beauty of Scotland. I'm not done exploring and would come back here for sure! -
- Isabelle (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment had everything we needed, was perfectly cleaned and most of all had beautiful special touches including highland soaps, little baked goods and some breakfast items. Abi the host was so kind and accommodating. Will definitely stay again! Nothing!
