• Julia (10/5): Perfekte Unterkunft für einen Aufenthalt in Hue! - Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit hier und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Zimmer war sauber und alles in gutem Zustand. Insgesamt ist das Haus wirklich wunderschön und die Gastgeber sind super nett und sehr zuvorkommend. Wir haben sowohl gute Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt in der Stadt bekommen als auch viel von der Geschichte der Familie und des Landes erfahren dürfen, was sehr interessant war! Das Frühstück war ein Traum und es gab eine Auswahl zwischen lokalem Frühstück und kontinentalem Frühstück. Wir fanden es sehr schade, dass wir nur so kurz hier waren und wären sehr gerne länger geblieben! Wir können diese Unterkunft wirklich jedem empfehlen :)

The free bicycles were in great condition and the area was safe and relaxing for riding along the river, to the attractions, and around the neighbourhood. Breakfast was lovely. Hosts speak excellent English and are lovely to chat with, and give good advice and recommendations. I wish we could stay longer.

• Marieke (10/5): - What a fabulous stay! It was really interesting to stay in the old imperial area of Hue where the mandarins used to live. The host was great to talk to and very generous in showing us around the house and sharing lots about the history of the house, their family and Hue in general. We also learnt quite a lot about Vietnamese culture. The rooms were lovely and spacious and decorated with traditional wood furniture. The breakfast and other recommendations were great. Thank you once again!
• Betty Wills (10/5): A unique place to stay in Hue - Very nice old garden house run by lovely people in a village-like area. Close to the river and walkable to the citadel. Great breakfasts, either local or European, according to your preference. Definitely recommend the local specialties. Excellent English spoken and a wealth of local knowledge available. I highly recommend you stay here rather than the tourist area on the other side of the river. Much more interesting and peaceful. Some construction noise in the area starting early in the morning. Completely out of the host's control, but if you are sensitive to noise I advise you to contact them in advance and adk if it is ongoing.

The room was incredibly spacious, beautifully furnished with authentic pieces, and the garden was just lovely. The owner was exceptionally kind — he even came to pick us up by car at 10 PM where the bus had dropped us off. We would be more than happy to come back!

• Isabel (10/5): Beautiful and serene home with a history - Our stay was perfect and the homestay exceeded my expectations (which were high already). HueNam residence is a beautiful garden house with a fascinating history in Kim Long, like 10-15 min out of the city centre by bike or car. The location is quiet and peaceful without being too far away from all the action. The owners and the staff are truly wonderful and always happy to help with anything, it feels very much as being a part of the family. Also, the homemade breakfast is amazing. The value for money is truly great and I recommend this place to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in Hue culture and enjoy some serenity. Would definitely stay here again!

• Nguyễn (10/5): A cultural, traditional residence to discover a different side of Hue. - HueNam Residence offers a lovely, quaint getaway with a rich family style. The house itself is amazing, steeped in a traditional Hue garden house style with a quiet atmosphere. About three kilometers away from the Citadel, free bicycles get you around with ease. The bikes are well-maintained and easy to use. The room boasts a sunny porch overlooking the garden. We stayed on the ground floor which was perfect to drag our luggage around. There's no elevation but the host is ready to help with the bags if you stay on the 2nd floor. Our room was sparkling clean, shower worked well with plenty of shelves inside to stock your amenities. We learned a lot from the host family. He shared heaps of useful tips on dining out, getting around. Plus, the breakfast is changed each day - we were treated to some tasty home-made styled bánh canh and it was heavenly!!

Nothing was too much trouble. Our favourite place so far in our whole trip. The hosts and on site staff were generous and kind and could help us with anything. The hosts live off site but were there and available if we or other guests needed anything. Stunning gardens. The breakfast was made locally in the kitchen in front of you and served in the most beautiful setting. Everything was perfect. We also asked the hosts to arrange a dinner for us which they did and it was amazing. A wonderful place to stay and very affordable and accessible to everything via grab or bicycles. We used grab.

• Lucas (10/5): Hidden Gem in Hue - Very friendly and helpful staff. The owner is very kind and her English is fluent. The residence is located in a more peaceful area of the city, away from the sound of traffic. Although it's technically still in the city it feels like you're in the nature. The breakfast was also tasty, you can even choose if you want the continental breakfast or the authentic Vietnamese variant. I would definitely go back if I find myself in Hue again!

We decided to stay in Hue for several week once we found this marvellous homestay. Every effort was made to endure our comfort: how soft-boiled do you like the eggs? steamed milk for excellent coffee, delicious variety of Vietnamese dishes for breakfast and fabulous dinners at v reasonable cost; discussions about history of the household or region. Location allows fine walks along Perfume River and interesting neighbourhood and Grab cars or motor scooters to town are easy. Hosts are more than helpful in planning tours, getting excellent guides. We (independent senior women, well-travelled) have never had such fine accommodation and care. Staff (thanks Diep) is terrific. nothing

We loved breakfast noodle soups (but other items are available), the house and expansive sitting areas and garden. We also appreciated access to their bikes! There really isn't anything. Rainy weather was out of their control! Even in rain, Hue is magical.

• Sara (10/5): A special place to stay - Exceptional, a wonderful experience staying in a Special Vietnamese home with very caring hosts. They gave us a special tour of the house, explaining family history, downloaded an app so my husband could watch the football, helped with food delivery and taxis. The house itself is incredibly stylish and comfortable. We also took advantage of the bicycles they provided (as well as the sun hats!), they even let us swim in the private pool at their house as it was so hot,

• Stephane (10/5): A peaceful retreat with wonderful hosts means you won’t want to leave! - The property is simply amazing! The setting is wonderful, a peaceful retreat. The gardens are full of plants and fruits, it makes for a perfect setting to just sip your coffee or a cold drink. Rooms are very nice. The owners and staff are fantastic hosts and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. Do make sure you have a meal during your stay! It’s not a negative but make sure you are aware that you will need to book taxis to get to and from the main part of the city. The property is located a short ride from the city and this is great if you are looking for a more peaceful stay.
• Powell (10/5): Exceptional - The highlight of our stay was the welcome given by our lovely hosts. Huyen speaks perfect English and arranged taxis when we needed as well as our transfer from Hue to Hoi An. The bedroom was spacious and the shower room was 'state of the art'. Breakfast was very good as were the evening meals we had. We liked being away from the town centre.
• David (10/5): Three nights in the real Vietnam - What a wonderful three nights. We were warmly welcomed off the night train from Hanoi into this magnificent home. Our room had everything we wanted (more than I expected) including a modern, separate shower room. Huyen, Lam, Giang and Diep looked after us very well - filtered cold water, beer, snacks all available on top of the tasty and filling breakfast. Huyen even let us use her own pool - much wanted given the current Hue heat. A short taxi ride into: Hue centre and the various food options (Huyen's recommendations didn't disappoint); the Citadel; the tombs less than 5km away; and nearby monuments only a cycle away. If you want to get a feel for the real Vietnam without giving up too much "comfort" then Hue Nam Residence is highly recommended. Nothing.
• Marko (7/5): Good - Spacious rooms, quiet location (except for the crickets) and helpful staff. Dinner was 300Kđ/pax and subpar. Would recommend having a nice dinner in the city center instead and saving the rest for a day tour.
• Kenn (9/5): Exceptional, Historic Hue Homestay - - the whole experience was authentic, and drenched in living histories, perfect for the curious travelling family - the service was wonderful.well above and beyond what was expected. Being surprised with personalised meals, and local treats was unforgettable. - the host family were exceptional. Meeting and chatting with their extended family and discerning guests. - bike access was a lovely treat, with easy access to the locality. - having kitchen ( and coffee machine ) access was distinct. Really only some tiny ideas to make it even better: - having more places to rest suitcases and put clothes would be useful. ( We were a family living out of suitcases for 3 weeks )
• Narelle (8/5): Very good - This was a lovely guesthouse to stay in. The hosts were friendly, informative and professional. They organised a tour for us on the Perfume River which was the real deal and not touristy. Breakfast was very good to include fresh fruit picked from the garden. Excellent coffee and freshly squeezed juice. We opted to have one lunch and one dinner on the premises and they were delicious and authentic. They catered well for a gluten free diet. We had to pay with cash.
• Daria (10/5): Amazing stay - It was amazing place to stay in Hue. The owners were so kind and helpful, the room was big, clean and with all required things and very comfortable bed and bathroom. Highly recommend! Only that we didn’t stay longer
• Woods (10/5): Family , amazing, genuine , beautiful home , happy - Huyen, Lam , their family and staff were all fantastic hosts. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond as hosts. Breakfast is plentiful, they make it on the spot, otherwise there are other things available. They have lunch or dinner at extra cost if that’s what your after. There are bikes if you feel like it, they assisted us with places of interest and suggestions of local eateries. Their house is immaculate, the rooms are large and beds are comfortable. The dining / family area is very welcoming. Nothing is ever too much to ask for them. They are always offering fruits from the trees from the garden. It’s a bit out of town , approx 70k grab one way. Short bike ride the the Pagoda to watch the sunset was amazing. Huyen and Lam speak perfect English so communication was never an issue. We are grateful to have met this family , I would highly recommend. Having to leave
