Guest Reviews
- Deborah (9/5): A cosy, comfortable stay in the village centre. - Loved the light and space. It was well equipped and clean.
Liked that we'd been supplied with dishwasher tablets and cloths and a log for the fire. Not so much didn’t like but a coffee table would be helpful. We used one of the benches as a makeshift one. Also, make it clearer in the details there's a log burner. We'd have brought more wood with us if we'd have realised.
- Joanna (7/5): - Excellent location and easy entry to the property.
Nice and clean. House was looking a little tired, basic throughout.

- Steve (10/5): Overall the property was very clean, spacious and comfortable.. it also had everything we needed for - Van was blocking access to key safe which made it a bit of a struggle
- Claire (9/5): Superb - Spacious property and in an excellent location for Pocklington. Very comfortable beds and sofas, lovely bathroom and kitchen with everything you need. Great wifi connection too.
We have a lovely couple of days here and would stay again nothing apart from I would advise you to take some coat hangers as was not enough for 2 people to use and there are some areas which could do with tidying up with paint but apart from that there was nothing I didnt like.
- Allan (6/5): Pleasant -
- John (9/5): Great wee house close to everything I needed -
- Ryan (7/5): Good -
- Claire (8/5): Perfect location for visiting family - Clean, tidy and spacious
- Peter (8/5): My daughter and her family came from Germany for two days; they were very impressed by the cottage a -
- Julie (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and fabulous sized cottage It was absolutely freezing cold and the heating was set on a timer which we couldn't over ride. The owner said to get logs for the fire but that wouldn't have made upstairs warm. I have never stayed anywhere that the heating was restricted. I'm sure it's fine in the summer but totally spoilt it for us
- Patricia (9/5): Comfortable home-from-home. - We went to Pocklington for a gig at the Arts Centre. Perfect location, just 5 mins stroll away from the cottage plus several pubs to have a meal before and drinks after the show. Several individual shops in town to look round and several historic/nature walks.
Assembly Cottage is lovely, very clean, had everything required in the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms (shampoo, conditioner and bodywash was a nice touch), comfortable lounge with information on things to do and see in the area. A coffee table in the lounge and a floor lamp would have been useful, so we didn't have to sit at the table just for a brew and switch the very bright double ceiling light on. Other than that, the whole set-up was just right.
- Julie (8/5): Good cottage -
- Dean (8/5): Had a great stay and would stay again if in the area - Very comfortable beds .nice clean bedding . Nice comfy sofas The seals in shower could be renewed as are looking a bit grubby, nice kitchen cupboard doors but a bit disappointing when you see the old inside .
- Alyson (6/5): If you’re planning a stay outside of York & only need a base then it’s good value for a complete house. - The property was easy to find and we were able to park outside or on the adjacent street We could not fault the owners who were very welcoming & helpful from the initial booking to check out. The house & decor was very basic & needs some upgrade in the bathroom; & kitchen cabinets had a odour.
- Marion (9/5): clean, spacious, really convenient. - The cottage was perfect for our family - a lovely old terraced house renovated as a quiet, calm space that was very welcome as we were at a busy family party over the weekend. The beds were comfortable and the 9 year old in our party was in seventh heaven at having two bunk beds to choose from. The cottage was really well furnished and spacious, beautifully clean, and brilliantly located so close to the centre of Pocklington. n/a
- Lauren (10/5): Weekend break - The accommodation is spacious with lots of storage and quirky features. There are some board games and books to use while there, with a comments book, which is a lovely touch (could do with having a pen). The owners left a pint of milk, hot drink supplies and basic toiletries ready to use. Lots of towels and bedding provided. Great value for money and would definitely stay again. Nothing - other than our personal preference of no plug in air fresheners as we find them too strong.
