• Lane Steven (10/5): Excellent stay in bari. - Excellent location in the historic town close to all the sites and short walk from the train station. The delivered breakfast to the room was excellent. Not a huge room but very well designed and very comfortable. There are very steep stairs to get to the room but the help with the suitcases by just was a huge help.

He met us to ensure easy access and the apartment is in a great, walk to everything area. The accommodations were lovely but by far the most memorable part of our stay was the amount of time, energy and love Ruggiero put into our stay. The breakfast he made was amazing every morning and he constantly went out of his way to provide recommendations and help with translations/reservations/phone calls. We would return in a heart beat. • Karen (10/5): A delightful stay in Bari - Our room was large and beautifully finished. It was close to both the old town and the newer shopping street. There were plenty of options for food, bars and soaking up the atmosphere. Our host went out of his way to make sure we saw the best that Bari had to offer. He had lists of his favourite places to visit ready to share with us. He made himself available to help with our bags both when we arrived and when we left, which was welcome as the rooms are up two flights of stairs, and also booked and also booked a taxi for us when we left. • Saralinda (10/5): Wonderful stay in a perfect location with a marvelous and accommodating host. - The property is wonderful. Perfect location close to everything; sights, attractions, waterfront and wonderful restaurants. The host, Ruggiero, could not have done more to welcome us and help on every way possible. Our room was beautiful, spacious and so comfortable. Daily breakfast with local foods was a treat and we will miss having it delivered to our room. The only problem was having to say goodbye- we will miss Bari and Casa Calamondino🥲

Our host handled our luggage up and down stairs and organised our taxi to the airport. Everything flowed. Also on arrival we were sent a digital directory of places to visit and restaurants. The stairs but our host insisted on handling all our baggage.

• Eve (10/5): Really the perfect place to stay in Bari - Casa Calamondino was an excellent place to stay in Bari. The location was perfect - in the historic centre but not too far from a taxi drop, convenient to all the attractions of old town and also to a prommenad along the water. In addition the room was quiet, notwithstanding being near evening destinations. Close to everything you would want! The room itself was spacious and attractive with good natural light. Breakfast was served in room with a choice of sweet or savoury and a nice pot of coffee on request :) This accommodation also offers the personal touch. The host Ruggiero was helpful from the very start. He was able to accommodate a slightly early arrival, was waiting for us on arrival and helped with the bags, offered great suggestions for restaurants etc , helped us with dinner reservations and assisted with a taxi and our bags on departure - very kind and personable! We took his suggestions for dinner restaurants and were very happy with an authentic experience in restaurants frequented by locals. A great experience. Also don't miss the recommended paninis at the Salumeria and Gelateria - really the best we had in Italy! We were completely satisfied.

• Pritha (9/5): Lovely apartment with exceptional host - I think the most important thing about this property is the host Ruggiero, who really went out of his way to help me out in every possible way! From helping me with the luggage at the most unearthly hours to making sure I had the best recommendations for everything to enjoy my stay, Ruggiero is an exceptional host. It’s a steep climb to the apartment, but the host makes sure to help you out with the luggage, so, it’s hardly an issue, unless one has mobility issues.
• Pierre (8/5): An expensive but well located comfortable B&B - Excellent location on the edge of the historic area and near good shops, restaurants, and other amenities. Also the host was exceptionally helpful, especially in carrying our luggage to our room and out at the end of our stay. The access stairway consisted of two floors of steep narrow stone stairs which is Ok for young visitors but a challenge for older people. Also, there were no kitchen facilities to make tea or coffee.

Our host was very helpful with sending us many suggestings of restaurants, cafés and other tips. He also arranged a parking slot for our rented car in a nearby garage that was just around the corner.

Not necessarily bad, but simple fact is that it can be a bit noissy until late night for sensitive sleepers, due to its central location near cafes & restaurants, also the stairs may be a bit steep, but only if you have mobility issues of any reason.

Perfect location to visit the Pasta Nonnas, hope on a train to Polignano a Mare, and take in Bari night life. Ruggiero is an excellent host. • Angela (1/5): A very unpleasant experience! - Location only Our overall experience at Casa Calamondino was extremely unpleasant. Although the property seems to be lovely and clean the owner was quite rude and anal to deal with to say the least. When we arrived we opened a small bay window which overlooks the outdoor city view to look outside as one would do as soon as they arrive look at the view. Unfortunately when we tried to close it, there seemed to be an issue with the latch. We tried closing it a few times to catch the latch and still no luck. When the owner returned with our passports he started yelling at us saying we were bashing something in the room and he accused us of slamming our suitcases hard in the apartment and that his apartment was a high end deluxe place and not to do so. We explained about the window and he said all he heard next to his place which we worked out was across the hall only meters away from our room was Bang Bang Bang - he was so rude and angry, I told him we tried to close the window and he continued to carry on, ‘these are top class windows and made in Germany’ - he attempted to close the window himself and couldn’t either, so he slammed it hard and a piece broke off and he blamed us. My husband had to calm him down. He kept going on about our suitcases as to place them very carefully on the floor as this was a high end deluxe room. That afternoon we went out for the day and he immediately arranged to have the window looked at and send us a bill of $60 Euro and a photo of 2 men trying to fix it. He should have insurance to cover these incidents and it probably was already stuck with his previous occupants and we happened to get the blame. We would not recommend this place as the room is rather small and was up 2 sets of stairs this is not outlined in the booking, do yourself a favour and book a another place.

The apartment was so beautiful and elegant. They cleaned it every day and the location was perfecto. Even though it was in the centre you couldn’t hear any noise. • Gabriele (10/5): Stay here. - Stay here. It was the best accommodation I had during my 2 week visit to Puglia. It was an exceptionally large room for being in the centre of the old town. Sitting chairs and table were nice touch. Excellent in-room breakfast. I am noise sensitive and did not think it was noisy. Best part is the communication with the host, he gave us terrific recommendations for lunch, cafe, dinner, gelato and cute places not to miss during our short stay. I wish we could have stayed longer. Noting to improve, it was great. There are two flights of stairs to navigate but not a problem for us.

He provided good info, helped with airport shuttle and prepared afternoon tea and other pleasant surprises for us. Due to the crntral placement, there is noise from restaurents and bars wuite late. But all a part of the charm.

We felt really welcomed by Ruggiero, and he provided us with helpful information about our trip, and recommendations for our sigh-seeing itinerary and some great suggestions for places to eat. The facilities in the room were perfect for our needs and in particular, the bed, bedding and pillows were all excellent, ensuring an amazing night's sleep during our stay. • Marcin (10/5): Best place in Bari! - Stunning design! Amazing location in old part of the town with all restaurants and main attraction close by. Short 10 min walk to train station. Personal touch on every step, starting with nicely decorated room, chocolate and champagne on arrival, delicious breakfast and amazing hosts. Super cute place (and hosts 😉)! Definitely coming back! Everything 10/10. Loved everything :)
