Very near some lovely pubs to eat out and some brilliant destinations for children i.e Bewilderwood. Would recommend. Would also make a nice destination for a couple who just want to chillax. - Jade (10/5): A lovely weekend break away! - Lou was very accommodating for our friends 50th surprise getaway. Lou responded very quickly to my messages and kindly decorated the property for us ahead of us arrive. The cottage has Lovely interior, the beds are super comfortable and all the little thoughtful details e.g. bread, jam, milk etc. The cottage was very clean! We didn’t even feel that we were near Lou’s home the space outside of the cottage is great with great views. Only 30 mins from Chester and easily got an uber to and from the cottage. 100% would recommend this place to stay to friends and family. Nothing
- Martine (10/5): Great stay, lovely host and ideal location. - Loved everything about the property. Perfect size. Nice sized bedrooms and great sized bathroom and kitchen area. Living room was great and a log fire if needed. Nothing!
- Sarah (9/5): A fabulous, cosy little property with lots to see and do in the local area. - A really cosy property in a great location with a beautiful tranquil outlook. Most home comforts provided for. The welcome pack was appreciated. There was nothing to dislike but a few recommendations to make it even better: 4 chairs for the dining table as 2 of us had to sit on stools. Larger bath towels would be appreciated. A multi surface spray for the kitchen.
- Joshua (10/5): - Perfect property, clean, lovely facilities, comfy, all you can ask for Nothing

- Chris (8/5): Beautiful cottage in excellent location - Excellent peaceful comfortable clean & beautiful cottage in an excellent location with lovely comfortable beds & furniture & log burning stove which gave the living room a warm & homely feel. As I'm disabled & can't manage stairs everything was laid out wonderfully on one floor with easy access, would definitely stay again if visiting the area. Thank you for a lovely stay. Slight issue with heating control which was quickly resolved, suggest you possibly could look at updating TV in near future to smart TV with internet & streaming services (Netflix, Disney, Prime, etc) then guests who have accounts can login in for more viewings options.

Carpets could do with cleaning with stains but are clean.
Maybe some blankets would be nice in living room
Very minor negatives as the stay was lovely :-)
- Dawn (9/5): Cosy little rural cottage. - Lovely private location, lovely little cottage. I didn't need to contact Lou the owner but I like that we were left to our own devices, which was what she said she would do. All conveniences we needed The cottage was a little tired in places (living room carpet stained, cooker hood had cobwebs on, the shower head was quite tarnished) but it was nothing unliveable or dirty. Just a little tired.
- Alfred (8/5): - Pre-visit help excellent. Did not see a soul during the visit. Left to it. Welcome pack lacked personal attention - biscuits out of ' consume by date,' milk smallest size possible, instruction pack missing operating details / cooker, batteries on some controls on the way out. However lovely location, and ideal for our use. House excellent. Lou helpful on phone conversation prior to visit.
- Susan (8/5): - Location was superb, beautiful setting and very peaceful Everything was good can’t say there was anything we didn’t like.
- Meryl (10/5): - Beautiful property, spacious and very comfortable, all facilities excellent.
- Laura (10/5): - Quite location, clean, comfortable, good facilities Hard to find, part of the sign missing 'caution horses'
- David (9/5): Overall absolutely wonderful. - Lovely quality linens and towels. Very clean. Larger drinking glasses. Miss match of crockery. A dishwasher would be a bonus although appreciate limited space in the kitchen.
- Amber (9/5): Hidden gem - This is a hidden gem. Absolutely lovely little cottage in a peaceful setting, loved it. The cottage is beautiful, the hosts are lovely and the setting is serene.
- Judith (10/5): An amazing opportunity to enjoy a family wedding and recharge our batteries in peaceful surroundings. - Beautiful location with amazing surroundings. A lovely welcome pack on arrival. Thoughtful details like the provision of fans in the bedrooms on two of the hottest days of the year!
- Zoe (10/5): Lovely time away, beautiful cottage and really relaxing time. We stayed for our nieces wedding at Peckforron castle and - Lovely cottage and location.
Really relaxing. Host didn’t disturb us at all but we’re there if we needed to ask any questions and were helpful.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful cottage set in idyllic grounds, perfect for a peaceful getaway. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the cottage is well equipped, clean and cozy with a home from home feel. We would definitely book to visit here again. It is set in a quiet rural area in it's own grounds, far enough away for peace and quiet, though local amenities are near enough within driving distance. There is nothing we didn't like, apart from the fact that we had to leave.
- Neal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Lovely comfortable cottage - Lovely cottage in a great location. Clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our short family getaway. Host had excellent customer service. Would recommend 10/10
- Neal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eirwen (10/5): Beautiful cottage, in lovely surroundings, very quiet but not far from anywhere. - S /C no breakfast.kitchen had all we needed , milk tea coffee ,bread & butter left in kitchen , lovely beds, and crispy white bed linen, best shower ever . The entrance in from main road, not very easy to see traffic from either direction. That’s a minor problem, the only one we could find.
- Ellen (10/5): Countryside haven - We had a wonderful time at Pheasant cottage when visiting the area for a wedding at Peckforton Castle.
Beautifully decorated, really well equipped with everything you could need - such a sweet little cottage in the countryside.
Lou had brilliant communication and we can’t fault the place at all - thank you! Nothing!
- Claire (9/5): Excellent stay for families with young children. - Second time we’ve stayed here. This property is fantastic for a short break with young children as it’s central to brilliant activities such as the crocky trails, bewilderwood, ice cream farm, Beeston castle, all between 5 and 20 mins away. The property is very private. It is very well equipped, the kitchen is better stocked than my own. Very clean property. Comfortable beds, great shower. Very tastefully done. The only thing would be a better DVD player as the DVDs jumped around a bit.
- Lyndsay (10/5): Definitely recommend - Excellent cottage, really enjoyed my visit and if I ever want to come back to this area I would stay here again.
- Samantha (10/5): We had a lovely break at Pheasant Cottage, a beautiful place to recharge our batteries after busy days of exploring. We - Excellent and peaceful location, absolutely spotless. - Cari (10/5): Perfect for a romantic getaway - It’s a beautiful cottage with everything you need ie pots pans etc for cooking/dining. A lovely welcome basket, milk bread fresh eggs, tea coffee.
Beautiful surroundings, peaceful. Clean & heated.
- Alistair (10/5): Excellent property in a lovely countryside location. - Everything was as expected after reading a few reviews before selecting the place. My wife has walking difficulties so want somewhere that was completely on the ground floor and close to where I parked the car. Everything inside the property was clean and in, as new condition. This is not a complaint but a suggestion. The step to the main entrance is a little bit high for someone with walking difficulties and would benefit with an interim step to make life easier.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed here as we were up for the weekend to watch the Superbikes at Oulton Park. The cottage is in a great location for this and a great place to relax after watching the bikes all day.

Our family of 4 LOVED this cottage. It had 2 lovely bedrooms and the living room and kitchen had all the facilities needed for a self catering break. Would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet location near to Chester.
