• Bo Mohr (10/5): A fantastic place to stay forever - What a lovely place this is. I simply love this house with all its cosy corners and well thougt put features. So sorry that I cannot stay here for more than one night. The absolutely best accommodation yet on my whole trip around the coastline of this fantastic island.

Good value for money. - Being the ONLY guest at the house, I had the whole main living area (2nd floor) to myself, as well as my room upstairs, of course. This just made living there very easy and convenient. =) As so many others have stated, the decor of the house is exquisite. On departure day I spent well over av hour just photographing the place. 😅 Everything was good. Host couple very friendly and nice. 🙂👍

• Danielle (9/5): Perfectly cozy and charming studio on the edge of the ocean - The location is unbelievable, the studio had so much charm & character and was very peaceful & cozy! The hosts even left us a couple slices of delicious homemade apple cake. Would be very happy to return here again in the future . There was some noise from people walking in the rooms above the studio.

• Andrea (10/5): - Il voto 10 personalmente lo do raramente ma a questa guesthouse non può essere dato meno. Complimenti alla proprietaria..ha creato un gioiellino sul mare del nord dell' Islanda. È tutto perfetto.. vista sul mare, pulizia, cucina all' avanguardia, gusto nell' arredo...se nel tuo giro è compreso questo angolo di Islanda ci devi assolutamente soggiornare. Nulla da segnalare tutto perfetto. L'unica sua "sfortuna" è di essere in una zona un po' remota.

• Salome (10/5): Geheimtipp - Dieses Guesthouse ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp! Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, gemütliches Ambiente in einem frisch renovierten, lichtdurchfluteten Haus mit moderner Einrichtung, an einer Traumlage direkt am Wasser, zwei Hottubs mit Dusche und dem Ozean zum Abkühlen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt. Als einzigen Nachteil würde ich nennen, dass Gemeinschaftsdusche und -WC nicht im gleichen Stockwerk wie die Zimmer liegen.

• Toma (10/5): Very much recommended - Beautiful house with very well equiped kitchen. Big bonus - hot tubs outside plus beach in front, where we took a cold dip to the sea. What is more, there are extra towels and even swimming suits in a bathroom which you can use for hot tubs, in case forgot your own.
• christopher (7/5): - The house was very cozy and clean with lots of attention to detail. We loved sitting in the hot tub and swimming in the ocean. Overall it is a very nice property in a quiet little village. We didn’t realize there are 4 bedrooms and only one bathroom in the house and the house was full when we stayed. It was crowded with 4 couples trying to make dinner in the kitchen all at the same time. My other complaint is that the hot tub was not available to use in the morning. We were looking forward to a soak when we woke up. It seems that maybe they drain it every night.

• Daniel (9/5): Great location and great place! - It was a beautiful apartment on the first floor of a larger house overlooking the ocean. It has all facilities including a washer and dryer. The hot tub overlooking the ocean was spectacular. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be back. Owner was super nice! Nothing

• Jacob Arnes (9/5): Spændende, hyggeligt og fredfyldt ophold langt fra alting. - Meget positiv, kreativ og imødekommende værtinde, der har fået konverteret et gammelt fiskerhus til en virkelig spændende ejendom. Byen er forretningsmæssigt nærmest uddød, så man skal planlægge indkøb af madvarer inden for begrænset åbningstid i det lille supermarked.
• Sabrina (10/5): Beautiful Oasis - Absolutely lovely and wonderful stay. Best views, nice decorations and also very kind host. The hot tubs are a great plus, too. I'd definitely come again and will recommend this little oasis to everyone I know that travels north. The area is totally underrated and there are a lot of nice things to see. You can get some groceries in Asbyrgi or Thorshöfn if you come from the other direction. The house is equipped with everthing one might need :).

• Bonnie (10/5): Amazing Guesthouse - Melar is an amazing guesthouse! We stayed in the studio suite, and it was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with a coffee maker, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, etc. The hot tub was an added bonus! The bathroom was roomy and the bed was very comfortable. The decor was somewhat eclectic but it fit the historic house perfectly! Communication with the host was excellent and check-in was easy. The location is quite remote, but this area of Iceland is definitely worth visiting! It would have been nice to have a toaster; a microwave would have also been good.

• Sander Gielen (10/5): - Beautiful guesthouse! It's pretty remote but we liked that. The environment and the sunsets where also magnificent. We where mainly here to work for a few days, it was perfect for that: WiFi was fast, it was a quiet environment, and there was a good table to work on. A friend of the host was taking care of the guesthouse for a little while; Sigrun and her husband where super kind, very nice people!

But the Deluxe with Sea Views also has no bathroom but it doesn't say that until the very small print. Very annoyed. The smallest room we have had in Iceland. Stairs to bathroom. Be aware there are apartments on the basement/ground floor that are fully self contained and most reviews seem to refer to those. The 4 upstairs bedrooms have a shared bathroom and living area on the middle floor. Not even a separate toilet so a long wait when the shower is occupied. Water pressure terrible, possibly when a downstairs apartment turned on a washing machine or dishwasher.

Der Hot Pot war ebenfalls ein Traum und die Besitzerin sehr nett. Klare Weiterempfehlung! Das Dorf drum herum hat wenig zu bieten - man sollte schon selber kochen. Aber Unterkunft top!

• Cole (10/5): Enthusiastically recommend! One of our favorite places in Iceland. - The location and space itself were amazing. The decorations were especially unique and thoughtful. The basement suite was so cozy and we loved getting to use the hot tubs as well.
• Louis (8/5): Erg fijn, maar de prijs is een beetje te hoog. - De gemeenschaopijke ruimte is comfortabel, een heerlijke badkamer, het gezelschap was zeer prettig, interessante gesprekken! Koffie in ruime mate aanwezig! Kó Lasker is erg klein en afgelegen, weinig faciliteiten, maar daar heb ik juist voor gekozen. De kamer was erg klein, wel goed te verduisteren. Beneden was het erg warm, de slaapkamer was niet verwarmd en het was koud ‘‘s nachts, maar het dekbed maakt alles goed!

• Veronika (10/5): - Großartiges Guesthouse. Super liebevoll eingerichtet. Und die Schwester der Besitzerin (sie war die Urlaubsvertretung) war auch super lieb und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten das große Glück in einer stürmischen Nacht das Haus für uns alleine zu haben. Durch die vielen großen Fenster hatten wir so trotz des Sturmes einen gemütlichen Ausblick auf Nordlichter. Leider steigt immer mehr der Trend zu luftigen Schiebetüren vor dem Bad ohne Dichtung in irgendeiner Art. So ist es auch hier Das führt leider zu wenig Privatsphäre was Geräusche auf dem Klo angeht.

• Romana (9/5): - Die direkte Strandlage und liebevolle Einrichtung der Zimmer waren super. Zudem eine voll ausgestattete Gemeinschaftsküche und Wohnzimmer mit Blick aufs Meer. Außerdem sehr nette Inhaberin. :) Wir hatten zwar ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad gebucht, was für Toilette und Waschbecken zutrifft. Die Dusche muss jedoch mit den anderen Besuchern geteilt werden (war für uns zwar kein Problem, aber etwas irreführend bei der Buchung).

• Clarissa (10/5): - This place is just a hidden gem and so fantastic. The house is on the water, with two hot tubs so you can look at the water and wildlife. The kitchen is beautiful and the rooms just feel so luxurious. The owner is incredibly friendly but not overbearing - just helpful and there if you need them for questions. The house is wonderfully decorated and we absolutely loved our stay. The only thing for people to know is that there is only one bathroom - when we were there there was just one other couple so it worked out - but if the place is full it might entail a wait if someone is showering and you have to go. The other thing for people to know is that the rooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs.

The host is so s^nice, giving lots of information and stories, while always respecting privacy. To relax in the whirl pool after a day full of excoursions was so nice. Noting to complain

• Jochen (9/5): Schöne Lage an einem ruhigen Fleckchen. - Tolle Lage am Meer. Vom Aufenthaltsraum direkter Blick aufs Wasser. Gut ausgestattete Gemeinschaftsküche und großes Gemeinschaftsbad). Liebevoll eingerichtet und neu renoviert wird der Charm von modern und historisch sehr gut verbunden. Die Hot pots sind tagsüber öffentlich und zu bestimmten Zeiten kostenlos mit nutzbar. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein. Allerdings war dies auch in der Beschreibung beim buchen bereits so angegeben und wird nicht verschwiegen. Wenn alle Zimmer belegt sind, wird es im gemeinsamen Aufenthaltsraum (= Wohn-Ess-Bereich) etwas eng.

Le camere erano abbastanza grandi. La proprietaria molto disponibile ed accogliente Nella camera con il bagno non c’è la porta del bagno ma solo una tenda, che non è molto gradevole, la camera singola era abbastanza piccola e con un letto molto scomodo
