• Hunia (2/5): Need to clearly show the rooms online. - The golf course! Arrive to New Day after a long day on the road. Wanted to have a nap, couldn't though due to maintenance going on in the next room. From 3pm-7pm was very noisy and disturbing. Also there wasn't enough breakfast supplied for all of us. Lack of advertising and supplies. Cleaning wasnt great in the kitchen and bathroom areas.

• cheryl (9/5): we only there one night but very happy will book again - For the price we paid breakfast was enough fruit cereal and coffee certainly satisfying everything laid out very nicely Television could have been on opposite wall because to hard to watch where it was, if not television then bed

• Duncan (6/5): Solid stay with nice rooms, but the weak shower was disappointing. - Comfy warm beds in a carpeted room, kitchen with a nice view. Shower was very low pressure, only one bathroom, limited breakfast selection.
• Karina (8/5): A wonderful place to share in Whangarei - The house was very clean with plenty of toiletries and towels. It has a pretty big kitchen with everything you might need to prepare a meal. Rooms are as described on the webpage. You can have your dinner cooked for you on the premises as well. And it is DELICIOUS! Given that it is a shared house, there is not as much privacy. Only one room has a private bathroom. The rest share the bathroom.

It provided us with a comfortable bed to get some decent sleep - By the time we awoke, the cornflakes box was empty, although a new box was put into the kitchen, as we were leaving the premises. No biggie though! Great comfy bed. Clean linen No remote control for the heat pump No extractor fan in the toilet /bathroom area

• Anonymous (6/5): It was very clean and comfortable and just what I needed, a bed for the night. - Place was great for what I wanted, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I didn't partake in breakfast because I was up and out very early and couldn't find any bowls and spoons for the cereal. Thank you, it was great for what I needed. A little more in the way of information, wasn't sure how the tv worked, a face cloth would have been good and I couldn't find the bowls or spoons for breakfast. I was up very early and out early because I had an early start at a training session. The place was in darkness when I left before 7am.

• Florian (8/5): Nice place near the Whangarei falls - Nice place, it had everything we needed for one night. The location was good, 5min walk to countdown, 25min walk to the Whangarei Falls (or 10min by bus) The owner is so friendly,  kind and helpful. He even gave us a lift to the intercity bus stop as we didn't have our own car. Kitchen could be equipped a bit better (more cutlery and utensils)

• Carol (5/5): Passable - The price was okay. Only one bathroom. Toilet and shower in the same room. No table in the communal area. Not a welcoming environment as nowhere to sit. Our room was very noisy, catching all the traffic noise, due to its situation at the front of the house.

• Vicki (1/5): Over Priced for What We Got Not Friendly Back packers life - 2 of us, & 2 other couples in total 3 females 3 Males. We shared the one bathroom, the day and night we stayed the 1 hand towel never got changed, The hand towel small as it was, was soaking wet by the next morning, then it disappaired nothing to replace it, 1 roll of toilet paper last us 6 day and night next morning none, nothing replaced? Shower floor slippery. No table and chair sit on have a meal. Two slice budget toaster, no pillow protectors, Tho I took my own. He didnt say hello or greeted us we got e-mail room number where key was, parking was horendce un e-even concrete squares you would trip on one day or night, no outside light, it rained so the entrance way was so slippery. We had to un plug 4way adapter by our beds plug t.v and fan in, to use fan it was muggy, moved our charges to t.v area away from us and desk no seating or somthing put our bags on yet room big enough Very over priced for what we got ( nothing) Backpackers life I guess rough it. The whole stay was horrable, service, chattles,shower,no toilet paper, no hand towels wipe hands, no table & chairs sit at have a meal after cooking long travel No one to contact, no contact details in kitchen area or dinning. No air con, so muggy

The car parking was difficult as the driveway was very close to the roundabout. Not enough room in driveway for 5 cars to park easily. Staff were rarely at the property and their English was not great.
• Natalie (8/5): Clean and comfortable - NewDay Whangarei was super clean, comfortable and close to Whangarei Falls and the Clapham Clock Museum. The museum was excellent. The othet guests were friendly, quiet and kind. The kitchen could use more saucepans and a sharp knife. We were waiting for a turn of the saucepans even though there were elements available. The house is super clean and in good condition. The decor was dated and that might bother some people. I did not mind because it was clean, friendly and well located.

The doorbell did not work so I had to phone up to get let in. The room was not set up with two beds as booked, so we had to wait for furniture to be rearranged. No door to toilet/bathroom (just a curtain), no towel rail, no toilet paper.
• Ding (10/5): We had an amazing time staying here! - The host was super friendly and welcoming. The location is great, with a golf course nearby, plus countdown and waterfall close by. The area is just so peaceful and scenic. The kitchen and room were both really clean, and we loved that we could cook our own meals. The place offers great value for money too! Highly recommend this spot!

Frank made too much Bao and told us to take some. It was delicious. We had a wonderful time there and would recommend !! The only thing that blocked us was the lack of bus during the week ends. We didn’t have a car and couldn’t moved as we pleased because Whangārei bus service is not so great.

• Christopher (5/5): Basic accommodation, good for a one-night stay. - The accommodation is quite basic, but it is clean and the staff are friendly. We were able to use the well-equipped kitchen for an evening meal and breakfast. The bedroom contained a double bed and a single bed, so there was very little room for anything else, e.g. bedside tables and lamps. It was good if you don't want to spend much time in the room, e.g. for a one-night stay.
