- guilfoyle (9/5): It was a lovely cottage in a lovely place. - It was really cosy, warm and interior was in keeping with the cottage. Loved your fireplace with log burner.
The garden was ideal as I had a dog
Close to shops
Very clean

- Sara (8/5): - Location! Comfortable beds, good size downstairs too. Enclosed garden. Quiet area, with good pubs, shops, church etc. Footpaths nearby, excellent walking. Garden had separate entrance, couldn't enter from cottage. Bathroom & kitchen a bit tired but functional.
- Mark (10/5): Beautiful cottage I will definitely go back. - Location was beautiful, house was really clean. The starter pack was a lovely touch overall very nice I would highly recommend Loved everything, parking was a bit of a nightmare but that's not the fault of this place.
- Helen (9/5): - Great location just off the main road, really lovely cottage with a homely feel.
- Richard (10/5): Lovely Traditional Dales Cottage - Perfect location, very comfortable little cottage. Had an excellent holiday there 😀
- Roger (9/5): Lovely cottage in Askrigg - Loved the location of this property. Very warm and cosy on arrival. Nice and clean and a lovely welcome pack. Only thing we felt was missing was a hand towel in the kitchen. Didn't like that the garden was separate to the property (through a gate to the side
of the building) and had no lights.
- Kelly (10/5): .The house was well equipped and very comfortable. Felt like home. -

- gillian (10/5): Lovely cosy stay, would definitely recommend! - Beautiful little cottage in the heart of the village
- Ruud (10/5): Cozy cottage in Askrigg - This was our second visit. We love to come here with our dog. It is a very cozy cottage, 10 meters from hiking trail. Askrigg is a great village. We will definitely return. Nothing
- Jayden (10/5): Had an amazing time - The log fire and the homey feel Parking, but not a great issue
- william (7/5): Delivers as they say what it says on the tin: a village cottage stay in the dales - Cottage was tidy and quiet No guaranteed parking
- geraldjames (8/5): Cosy cottage in excellent location - The cottage was really cosy and well located for great bike rides and walks. It was also really well equipped and we loved the cheese and cake which we ate separately, unaware of this Yorkshire tradition which we have since learned of. Just a minor thing, the light above the bathroom mirror and the one to the left of the kitchen sink didn't work.
- Christine (9/5): Cosy, comforable cottage in lovely location - Cringley Cottage is a cosy, comfortable cottage in a village with lovely walks from the door. As it rained a lot while we were there it was a lovely place just to be.The gift of fruit cake and Wensleydale cheese was delicious!
- Pauline (7/5): -
- Sheridan (7/5): Disappointed - We loved the location near to the wonderful countryside. Beautiful village with all amenities and great places to eat. Inside the kitchen was clean and spacious and had everything we needed the lounge comfy, but dated. Thank you for the welcome pack of cheese, cake, coffee pods, and milk. It is much appreciated..comfy beds. Was disappointed that we were not able to open the door into the garden as the garden was separate.( I know there is nothing that can be done about that!). There was a fusty smell throughout the cottage on throws, bedding, and towels. Although we slept well, the bed in the main bedroom was unstable. We just felt it needed a good clean.stains ln lounge carpet. Bathroom looked as though it had been newly decorated, but the shower screen seal needs replacing.
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Jenni (7/5): - Lovely, cosy cottage in lovely Askrigg. The beds were too small and too unstable.
- Jerome (10/5): -
- Staller (8/5): -
- Michael (9/5): quality accommodation for small family - nice wee spot could use a map showing parking places
- Guy (9/5): Great place to stay to explore the Dales. - Lots of charm in a beautiful part of the world Could not park close to the property and had to park at the end of the village.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Great property, dog friendly and 2 mins walk to a superb coffee shop and Kings Arms pub. - Location was superb in a lovely village, close to excellent walks in such a beautiful area. Also a 2 minute walk to a coffee shop and the Kings Arms. Bathroom seemed very tired, with mould around the shower.
- Hannah (10/5): A wonderful weekend in a idyllic cottage - Characterful & cosy. Excellent location close to shop, cafe/bakery and excellent pubs. Fantastic walks directly from the cottage. We really couldn’t fault anything. Ruth & Mark were so helpful and the cottage was idyllic, with everything you could possibly want for a fantastic stay. There isn’t any parking at the cottage but we always found spaces close by in the centre of the village and it was then just a very short walk to the cottage. Parking right outside the front door was absolutely fine to load / unload our car.
- Damian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - A complete home from home. Such a cosy cottage and great location. Some lovely walks from the cottage into the beautiful countryside. Askrigg also has 3 great pubs. We had an amazing Sunday Lunch in the Middle House... one I will be dreaming of for years to come! Also good live music in the King's Head.
Not far from Hawes which has some lovely boutique shops, and can't miss going to the Wensleydale Creamery, where you can sample their cheeses before you buy!
Would definitely recommend this cottage and one we would go back to stay in. Wasn't enough toilet roll left in house
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Geoff (10/5): Lovely peaceful few days would definitely return - Everything Nothing
- Halina (9/5): Superb - The location is great for walks. The cottage is comfortable. It can be tricky to find parking place during long weekend along the main street 😔
- Temeka (10/5): Perfect weekend away - Lovely little cosy cottage great location Nothing
- Elaine (10/5): Lovely comfortable cottage. - Warm comfortable. Got everything needed for short break. Nothing
- Darren (10/5): Amazing and chilled - It’s was a lovely cottage in a perfect location
- David (9/5): Superb - Lovely cottage in a beautiful area.
We sat in the garden one afternoon and it proved a real sun trap.
Local shops were very welcoming. It was very cold when we arrived and it took a while to warm up.
It was a couple of days before we discover how to turn on the bathroom towel rail.
- Leigh (8/5): Had a great stay and looking forward to booking again. - It’s a perfect location, cosy and has everything you need. It is in good condition and very good furnishings Just needs a minor detail attending to the cold tap in the kitchen needs fixing
- Stephanie (10/5): Wonderful relaxing break in this beautiful cosy cottage - Beautifully decorated and such a big comfy sofa for cuddling up by the fire Nothing we didn’t like
- Kate (10/5): Great little cottage perfect location. - Perfect for 2 adults who want separate bedrooms - cosy - lovely log burner - excellent position. Nothing
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -

- Stefania (9/5): Cosy, quiet, lovely cottage - The cottage is very cosy, it's located in a lovely quiet village. There is a close shop to buy necessities. The house came with pretty much all we needed, I appreciated the torchlights as it's very dark outside at night when you need to walk the dog to the garden. The heating was great, but we were also provided with lots of blankets. It wasn't exceptionally clean, but okay anyway. The bed in the smaller bedroom could do with a mattress update.
- George (10/5): The location in the Dales was just where we wanted to be, and the cottage was warm and snug for an autumn visit. - The cottage was warm when we got there.
It has a very liveable layout, was well equipped, easily managed heating and in a quiet location. Nothing.
- Susan (7/5): Despite the comment above, we really did enjoy our stay, the walks from the front door were magic - Happy with he location off the main street, perfect setting peace and quiet The wood burning stove, had it been cold damp weather the chimney showed signs of needing necessary maintenance.
- Stephen (10/5): Very relaxing and enjoyable - It was a great cottage in a beautiful village
- Neil (10/5): Just excellent. We love Askrigg and have been staying for years, but think we’ve found our new base here. - Very well kept, has a lovely home from home feeling. The effort that goes into running holiday lets is vast, and it showed at this property that the owners really care. Nothing, it was honestly fantastic.
- Charlotte (5/5): Not the best by any stretch. - Good footpaths all around but close to the centre of the village. The house is dark and could do with a thorough cleaning - eg cobwebs on the table lamp in the sitting room and mould on the bath seals. Very basic equipment, eg kitchen equipment which was not up to expectations given the price (over £1,000 for a week in August). Mattresses are quite old and spongey. The message with the code for the key box was only sent two days after my arrival so when I got there I couldn't gain entry. It was difficult to phone the owners because there is no phone signal in Askrigg but after wandering around for a while I managed. All in all it took nearly an hour to get in after a long drive.
Won't be going back.
- James (10/5): Lovely Country Cottage - Lovely country cottage, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The location is ideal for experiencing the essence of The Yorkshire Dales. Askrigg is a lovely village with great walks and fantastic scenery all around. We really enjoyed our stay and the cottage was very well equipped. Thanks to Ruth and Mark!
- Martin (9/5): Great - Very quaint
- Carol (9/5): A very comfortable stay in a pretty village. - We loved the location near to some lovely countryside and a great pub. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It was a great base for exploring the area. We slept really well as the cottage was on a very quiet street and the bed was ver comfortable. Parking was tricky in the village at times, so parking space would have been good. We could not get regular channels on the TV so had to use iplayer.
- Diana (9/5): Cosy cottage in perfect surroundings - We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It’s in a beautiful location, with fabulous open spaces nearby for lots of dog walks. The hosts were very helpful too. N/A
- Charlene (8/5): Great location for traveling the Dales - peaceful and helpful hosts. Great pubs in walking distance. - Location & quietness No mirror in second bedroom and no long mirror
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage. Very well equipped and clean. Really nice place to stay.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Carsten (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (10/5): Perfect - thank you so mych. - Everything. We live in New Zealand but originally from Yorkshire, we know this area very well. Staying at Cringley was just the perfect way to spend few days back home in the Dales. The cottage is perfectly equipped and situated to make the ideal base for a Dales visit. Highly recommended Nothing
- Sam (10/5): We had an amazing stay had a small issue with the tv but with just a simple text the host sorted it straight away. Would - The location was amazing. Slight mould patches starting to show in the bathroom. Nothing serious but some thing to sort before it get worse..
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Very cosy, a great place to return after a rainy day on the hills Comfortable, warm, well appointed
- David (10/5): Everything we wanted - Location good Nothing
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - The mattress in the larger bedroom was very saggy
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Toni (10/5): Exceptional - Cringley Cottage is a beautiful little cottage, warm and cosy. It is everything you need for a perfect holiday. There was a welcome pack on arrival, which was a lovely gesture.
There were lots of great walks, right on its doorstep.
We ate at the Kings Arms a 2 min walk away, which serves delicious meals, the pie's are a must.
We'll definitely book another stay in the future.
Thankyou. There was nothing to dislike.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -

- Wayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (8/5): Comfy, relaxed, exactly what we wanted. - Cringleford cottage was extremely comfortable, the furniture, the beds, the linen were lovely, excellent quality. The location was perfect, walks on the doorstep in the heart of Wensleydale. Hosts contact was fantastic, great cottage in a superb location . Good kitchen facilities qnd a welcome pack on arrival is so thoughtful
- Leigh (10/5): It was fantastic, relaxing a great location and everything we were hoping for. Thank you - It’s really cosy and comfortable. Furnished lovely and has everything you need. When we got there it was really cold and it took a bit to warm up. When it did warm up it stayed like that throughout our stay. Perhaps radiators could be turned on a few hours before people arrive especially during cold periods.
- Tosney (8/5): Very good -
- Evaline (9/5): Superb - The house was a little chilly when we first arrived but once we worked out how to use the heating and lit the wood burner we were toasty warm!
Everything you need for a little break. 3 pubs around the corner. We ate in the Kings Arms and I must say the place was very authentic. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing. We had a couple of 4 legged friends who were welcome everywhere.
I must also thank Ruth and Mark, the owners of the cottage for their sympathy and help in rearranging our weekend. We were originally booked for New Year but had a family emergency. They were such a lovely couple to deal with and helped us through transferring the date.
We will definitely go back again. N/A
- Naomi (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (8/5): Good value for money - A lovely little cottage in a beautiful village. Has been renovated with new ceiling/floorboards but kept some original beams. Loved the automatic nightlights which become torches, very useful!! The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Lounge was comfortable and warm once the fire was roaring. As others have confirmed, the King bed was too soft and sagged in the middle. The double bed was not suitable for anyone over 6ft due to the footboard and it makes the most AWFUL sound when you so much as move a muscle. Really could do with new beds. The thermostat in wall heaters in the lounge and king bedroom didn’t work so they didn’t click off when temp was reached which we found out in the middle of the 1st night. Could do with a mirror and hairdryer in both bedrooms. We all had to share. Freezer needs defrosting. We could only just fit our tub of Brymor in it.
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (9/5): Excellent little break, such a cosy comfortable little cottage, will definitely book again. - Extremely comfortable, clean and cosy, dog friendly, close to great walks and numerous pubs. Bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in, the heaters were great and took the chill off in no time at all. It was a shame you couldn’t get to garden direct from the cottage, couldn’t let the dogs out there on their own cause we couldn’t see them and the gate isn’t secure it’s only tied with a piece of string.
- Louise (8/5): Peaceful, cosy and many picturesque places to visit. - The cottage was warm and cosy. It was very well equipped and in a lovely, quiet village with some great pubs. The dogs enjoyed themselves too. Thank you for a lovely, peaceful weekend. We both have bad backs, so for us the bed was too soft- personal preference though.
- David (9/5): Superb - Bed was too soft for personal taste
- Julian (10/5): Beautiful little cottage in a lovely location. - The we
- Julie (8/5): A cosy, quiet cottage with good facilities & great local walking - The cottage was really quiet and so cosy / comfortable. Good facilities which suited us as a couple with one dog. The location was great for local walks (used Komoot.com) and also for road cycling. Have never been to the Yorkshire Dales before but will definitely return. Would benefit from more information on recycling & when the bins are to be collected - it mentioned about a Wednesday but I think they turned up on a Monday and thankfully opened the side gate & emptied the blue bin, without us having to put it out. We were only able to get London rather than local news on the TV/Sky box.
- Kate (9/5): A lovely week in a cosy comfortable cottage in a beautiful village - The location was good, lovely village and the cottage was in a very quiet area. Probably parking
- Georgia (10/5): A relaxing and restful stay which we will definitely repeat in the near future. Best night sleep for a long time. - Lovely clean and very cosy cottage. The bed was extremely comfortable and it’s location in the village was great. There was nothing not to like.

- John (9/5): Good , clean, quiet cottage with excellent facilities in lovely Dales village. - A nice clean, quiet cottage with good facilities in the lovely village of Askrigg. Lots of great walks from the door and some very nice pubs in the village. Considering how nice the cottage was, the unkempt garden needs improving. Also people need to be aware that there’s no parking outside the cottage, instead you can park nearby in the square, however in busy times that can be difficult, but there is a small village car park 8 minutes walk away.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
