• Cintia (10/5): Home to home - Lovely, homely, and very clean house. It has everything you need, including a fully equipped kitchen for cooking. My room was very comfortable, with everything I need, and I woke up to the sound of birds singing… so beautiful. You can also walk directly from the house to the start of the trekking trail. The highlight of my stay was definitely the couple who run it, Elena and Nicholas. They are the loveliest people I’ve ever met, truly kind and genuine. They make you feel at home while still giving you all the space you need. They helped me so much with taxis and luggage, and at the end, they surprised me with a beautiful gift that I will always keep as a fond memory of them

• Paula (10/5): Einfach ein Wohlfühlort - Ein wunderschönes Gästehaus das von einem sehr herzlichen Ehepaar betrieben wird. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und bietet die Möglichkeit zu kochen, zu verweilen und auch sich zurückzuziehen. Die Kleinstadt Zarnesti ist wunderschön und sehr originell. Es gibt Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Busverbindungen und gute Restaurants. Die Lage ist perfekt geeignet um Tagesausflüge oder Hüttenwanderungen in den umliegenden Bergen zu unternehmen. Wir waren absolut begeistert und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

• Alina Eftenoiu (10/5): A warm, welcoming stay with everything I needed for a comfortable visit - I really enjoyed my stay! The hospitality was wonderful, and I loved how well-equipped the kitchen was — we could easily prepare breakfast, boil water, make coffee, toast sandwiches, and more. The room I stayed in was spacious, and the bathroom was also very well equipped. The owners were extremely welcoming, and the yard was beautiful with lots of flowers. Overall, it was a great experience! I can't think of anything.

• Bruno Schalekamp (10/5): Sweet, quiet, and welcoming homestay - This place is a gem! We were welcomed in a very friendly matter and were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves, which is quiet and restful. The homestay is separate from the host's quarters and you have éverything at your disposal: large kitchen, living area, garden, porch, bathroom, lots of places to sit and chill. Its about 15/20 minutes walking distance from Zarnesti station, lunch/dinner places are also very close by, and a trip to the mountain is a 20/30 min. walk away. In short: a perfect place to rest and recharge after a long hike. We will definitely try to come back again! Nothing

• Helen (10/5): The warmest welcome and most comfortable stay - Staying at Edelweis Ilinca was one of the highlights of my wonderful trip to Romania. After a long hike and feeling very tired, the warm welcome into this wonderful home meant so much to me. The hosts really do genuinely care. The room was immaculate, comfortable and overlooked the garden where I enjoyed resting in the swing seat and some delicious home made cake! There’s a spacious kitchen you can use too which is very helpful. Thank you so much!

• Silviu (9/5): Lovely stay in a beautiful home with great host hospitality! - A lovely and comfortable home well located at the end of Zarnesti towards the start of the National Park and hiking trails. The host Nicholas really made the stay extra special. He had an accident (a fall in the garden landing awkwardly on a step ladder) before I arrived but was still so lovely and welcoming making nice conversation, checking in regularly and making sure I had everything I needed. Sitting down with homemade placinta and tea and hearing the stories from his life and how he built this house was a nice touch. Would highly recommend - thank you Nicholas and I hope you have a full and speedy recovery!

• Haoyue (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is perfect. The room is so cozy and comfortable, not only with essential equipments but also lovely items. I was warmly welcomed, and was invited to a (free) coffee chat in the next morning before I set up for the mountains. I recommend it strongly.

• Vincent (9/5): Quiet place in quiet town at foot of mountains - Fully equipped kitchen,lounge area,quiet location,wi-fi,garden with stream behind it,Miki the dog,tv has some sports channels and BBC World News. I had the room with the light blue curtains and balcony. If you are doing the recommended walk(starting 35 mins up the road by walking) to Cabana Curmatura( yellow markers) you can divert off it(blue circles) to go up to Piatra Mica summit through the forest though it is very steep. The alternative way onwards down to the Cabana involves some cables and scrambling. You can return from there through a gorge. Walking about Magura is also very nice.There is a steep trail if you don't want to follow the dirt road up. Curtains did not keep light out.

The kitchen is very well equipped to cook meals and greatly located to do hikes in the area. You can walk to the village to buy food or eat out. The owners are lovely and will make you feel at home. They can speak english and italian. Highly recommended!

Also, for hiking lovers, you can get pertinent advice about the trails in Piatra Craiului. The river that passes behind the house offers a relaxing atmosphere, which fades other noises and guarantees a restful sleep, it is a pleasure to enjoy a wine in the back garden in the cool of the evening and the song of the river. We love this place!

• Andrew (9/5): Great guesthouse with welcoming hosts. - Beautiful house with large garden and friendly dog. The hosts are very helpful, kind and generous. Very comfortable room and bed where I slept like a baby. Good location about 15 minutes walk for town center, well located for starting the hike up to Cabana Curmatura and Piata Mica. Difficult to located the house upon arrival. There is no indication outside the house that it is a guest house. So I walked around for a short while until the owner found me standing outside.
• Vlad (10/5): Best place to stay if you come for hikes in Piatra Craiului - The hosts are incredibly nice, helpful, welcoming and talkative - they were the best! And if you come for hiking in Piatra Craiului definitely talk to the host about trails and tips & tricks because he is an ex-Salvamont (ex-Mountain Rescue) and all the information he gave us were very helpful.
