Guest Reviews
- IAN (7/5): - Iconic views, comfortable bed and good shower. Lack of blankets.
- Karen (5/5): -
- Ross (8/5): Cabins were well set up with private bathrooms. Close to the Prairie Hotel which provides interesting meals., - Location was good for travellers heading out of the Flinders Ranges. Accommodation was comfortable.
- MrsJZ (8/5): - We loved the area and information on things to do. The rooms were clean and tidy. The camp kitchen could be better equipped. More cooking utensils, saucepans with fitted lids and trays that fitted in the little oven would have been great.
No BBQ available to use (considering the flies would have been difficult )
Also the step up into the bathroom needs to be highlighted my friend had a nasty trip going in and was very lucky not to have hit her head on the wash basin, had a bad bruise on her forearm from the basin.
- Harmen Jan (10/5): -
- Marlene (7/5): An amazing experience for people from the city. - No breakfast. But it was amazing to be staying in the middle of nowhere. I know it’s outback. But petrol stations are far and few between.
- Wendy (8/5): -
- Rose (9/5): Lovely time spent here and the dining experience was very tasty and pleasant. Staff very helpful and - Friendliness and efficiency of the staff Nothing to complain or be concerned about
- Tracey (7/5): Rustic look from outside but Room was very comfortable and served our needs - Room was lovely, warm and comfortable ,no view as such, beautiful big soft towels ! Located close to hotel where we had a beautiful dinner. Husband disappointed with no tv but we coped😀
A few things missing from other room - no wine glasses but hotel helped us out.
- Gary (9/5): - Spotless and comfortable room, very friendly, helpful staff
- Cindy (8/5): - Good location Bed jammed in straight outside the bathroom was awkward
- Sandra (9/5): Just do it! - Fabulous oasis in the middle of nowhere! Our cabin was comfy and had everything we needed. Maybe 50 metres walk to the wonderful Prairie Hotel where we enjoyed a truly gourmet meal using wild game. Emu liver pâté, yum. Feral goat curry, delish. Chocolate mousse to die for.
Fantastic authentic outback vibe, and beautiful sunsets to boot. There was nothing we didn’t like. It’s the cheaper option to staying n the Prairie Hotel itself, but we didn’t feel we missed out. It’s not luxury, but by no means cheap and nasty. Basic, clean, comfortable and private.
- Margaret (7/5): A conforable bed and a great meal at the Prairie Hotel - the interior of the cabin was fine, but the surrounds were really daggy and substandard. The surrounds,
- ELAINE (6/5): definitely overflow , if the price was more directed on what offered would have been okay -
- Edward L (8/5): -

- Philip (8/5): Great outback dining and accommodation experience that makes you want to come back again and again! - Great dining experience with fantastic staff and friendly service. The Prairie Hotel is such a unique outback experience that you always want to come back again and again.
- Matthias (9/5): - Knuffig. Klein aber fein. Neben Top-Restaurant im Outback. Beliebter, stimmungsvoller Treffpunkt weit ab der Zivilisation. Unklarheit wie man den Schlüssel bekommt. Langsame Reaktionen auf Mails.

- Sarah (10/5): Parachilna delivers - So unexpected. The Oarachilna Pub was an absolute treat and the cottage accommodation was great. Comfy warm and great location 👌 I would have been happy to stay 2 nights
- christine (9/5): Cosy comfortable stylish stay in the outback - Comfortable bed with crisp white linen. Bedside tables and reading lamps. Cutlery, glasses etc supplied. Very wam and cosy.
- Dunbar (8/5): Great place. Worst check-in system. - This was a great, well priced cabin. The cheaper sub-cabins looked ok too. We respected the effort to provide decent budget accommodation. Checking email never arrived. The check-in system was terrible. We only found out that the adjacent hotel was linked and held information by dropping in to ask questions as we left... and they have us the key code. Otherwise, we would have just driven off without staying. Ridiculous.
- Annie (6/5): Goat curry was a highlight - Location good for Ediacara. Camp kitchen good when we found it!! Poor provisions- glass missing, icebox needs defrosting, signage and map are woeful.
- Elisabeth (8/5): Perfect stopover for a fancy dinner! - Close to the hotel - walking distance, not 1.1km! Comfy bed, good shower. I prefer a doona to blankets
- Kate (9/5): Superb -
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Eliza (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Proximity to the Prairie Hotel. Heating and general comfort. I was surprised there was no TV. May be a plus or a minus :).
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional -

- Audrey (8/5): The place to be when visiting the Flinders Ranges - great comfy accommodation & to be across the road from The Prairie Hotel for a beer & a meal. Also close to Nilpena National park. Great to have cloths pegs available !! Thank you. To be on the west side of the ranges at sunset is a positive on a good sunset looking east & west
- Geoff (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): The cabin was well appointed with kitchenette, very quiet location, excellent value for money - Quiet, well appointed, had a kitchenette, close to the hotel where we had dinner, half the price of staying in the hotel Nothing
- Ailee (8/5): Definitely would stay again ! - I stayed in the cabin
It was so clean and comfortable, towels were soft and fluffy, bed was really comfortable, great shower. I was not expecting too much way out there but was so grateful for the comfort after a long day of hiking!!
Take lots of water because the tap water there makes tea and coffee taste wierd Fridge was turned all the way up - never thought to check it and all my food froze . Not good for the salad!
- Edgar (8/5): Very good -
- Arianna (9/5): Strategic spot for visitors - Private and clean Run down
- Leandra (9/5): Superb -

Good access to the Flinders. The flies
Better outdoor seating and privacy.
- Karen (7/5): Very comfortable and great location for a stopover. - Good value, great bed and shower. Great location to explore the flinders ranges from. Missing a few necessities like dish washing liquid, sponge and tea towel.
- Karen (8/5): Very good -

- Karen (9/5): Recommended. Host was friendly and helpful. - So peaceful and the accomodation was roomy for an overnight stay. Kitchenette facilities were very good. Very clean and bed was comfy.

- Di (10/5): We had a fabulous time .. staff, food, accommodation & entertainment excellent. -
- Sherry (8/5): Very good -
- Claudio (7/5): Good -
- Greg (7/5): Good -
- Kellie (7/5): Location suited us. - The location suited us due to its vicinity to the Fossil site, Blinman, Brachina Gorge, and on route to our next destination. Lack of communication and engagement around making the most of our stay.
Such as:
No pre arrival email advising that restaurant bookings were essential. Or the hotel would be closed on Mondays and alternative dinner arrangements would be required. The cabins have no cooking facilities, with the exception of a microwave and toaster, so be prepared.
The cabin also lacked enough towels, no tea towels, etc. Nor was there enough cutlery for all occupants.
Those staying in the overflow are not entitled to access the hotel for breakfast or barister coffee. This is exclusive to lodge guests only or we were told you can pay $45.
