Guest Reviews
- Sarang (9/5): Superb - I had a wonderful experience at this homestay in Chikmagalur. Nestled amidst a lush green coffee estate, the property offers a serene escape from the hustle of everyday life. Just being surrounded by the sprawling greenery is an experience in itself — peaceful, refreshing, and deeply calming.
The drive to the homestay is equally delightful, with scenic roads, winding paths, and the occasional glimpse of hills and plantations along the way. What’s even better is that it’s not too far from the city, making it easily accessible without compromising on the tranquility you seek from a getaway.
The stay is reasonably priced, especially considering the location and the immersive nature experience it offers. Whether you’re sipping your morning coffee while listening to birdsong or taking a leisurely walk around the estate, it’s a place that helps you slow down and breathe easy.
Highly recommend this place if you’re looking to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature — all without breaking the bank. I personally had network issues with Jio so I was dependent on WiFi but the WiFi sometimes worked sometimes didn’t. But since I was out most of the time it didn’t feel like a pain point.
- Shubham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ramachandra (8/5): Very good - The environment only that amenities were less user centric but generic
- Sandra (9/5): A stay at home - My husband and I booked a room at Heritage Homestay in Chickmanglore from 17th-19th February and we were given such a warm welcome by the entire family..and even though, the host, Mr. Suhas wasn't present, he made sure that all our needs were seen to by his mother Pavithra, his sister Deeksha and his Dad too.
This homestay is in Joladal which..though it is 20 mins from the KSRTC bus stand..it is right in the middle of a fantastic coffee and pepper estate which is very well maintained by the family and the weather was cool throughout the day and cold at night.
The room is small but with a lovely sitting area too and very neat and clean and the bathroom was very clean too and there is a big bed with a very comfortable mattress which was perfect for a good night's sleep.
We were also provided with amazing homemade authentic local food prepared by Pavithra herself at a reasonable cost.
Mr. Suhas provides you with a good contact for sightseeing too and you actually need 2 days to complete all the spots.
We also enjoyed a bonfire which was very kindly provided by the hosts.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heritage Homestay and given the opportunity..would definitely visit again.
Many thanks to the entire family for the wonderful time we had at Chickmanglore..it was as the name suggested..a stay at home🥰
- Yamini (10/5): Felt closer to nature and love - Was most peaceful stay I ever experienced. The property is surrounded with their coffee estate. They have four cats and three dogs. The host, were very considerate, helpful and lovely. The meals were served with love. I wish to visit them again and have coffee that aunty made for us and go for walks away from hustle bustle
- Shibu (10/5): Thank you Suhas and family for the warm hosting. Would highly recommend - Thank you Suhas and family for the warm hosting. Would highly recommend the stay....and don't miss aunty's special home made food.
- Vanitha (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hariharan (9/5): Will plan a repeat visit as the hosts are genuine, caring and friendly - Serene and home atmosphere. The hosts were caring and accommodating to our food requests. First timers who are visiting the property need to plan their visit during day light as they might find it overwhelming to navigate the narrow muddy pathway in night as there are no sign boards.
- Anuja (9/5): Superb -
- Prasad (7/5): Good - True native style accommodation where a part of the entire house is available for private use. It also has a private entrance. It's also within city limits, so it is convenient to get anything that you need. It's a good place if you looking to relax and unwind. Coffee served was exceptional. Breakfast can be better. It didn't suit our personal preferences.
- Debjeet (10/5): highly recommended, everything was good - great hospitality, convenient location.
And the food served was absolutely delicious. This didn't feel like a homestay but we felt that we were their personal family/ guests. everything was good
- Baskar (10/5): Superb experience of living in the midst of nature 👍💐 - Very friendly people and food is great. Room is very neat and clean. Staying in the midst of nature gives fresh energy.
- Aditya (10/5): Pleasant stay and very well attended and clean rooms - Great location and friendly host, was excellent overall Nothing
- Krishna (10/5): Nice and calm stay - Nice cozy place in the nature. Not too far from the city but away from all the rush and noice. House is inside a coffee plantation. Home food is available which is good and zomato too delivers to this place. Hosts are super friendly, takes care of your needs and even help you with your itinerary. All in all a nice place to stay. Nothing mention worthy
- Meher (10/5): I had a wonderful stay! The hosts were so kind and helpful; the location scenic and delicious food! -
- Amita (10/5): Cozy house in the heart of a private coffee plantation - Food is exceptional. The food served by the hostess is far too good compared to any other food that I ate during my tour of Karnataka. The food including the masalas are freshly prepared. We had the fish curry for lunch and green chicken curry for dinner. Spice levels are on the higher side so if you are averse to spicy food you will have to ask the hostess to tone it down. I highly recommend that you try these homecooked meals at least once if not everyday (time permitting).
The homestay itself is a 1960's house with Koba style floor and evokes the looks of days gone by. It has Manglorian tile roof and 2 rooms with verandah. There is also an attic for dorm style sleeping accommodating upto 8 above.
The property is about 7 km from Chikmagalur proper so if you intend to eat outside plan it in advance. Since the property has its own mini coffee plantation it is nice and cozy. Since the hostess does not speak English and knows little Hindi - folks can have issues communicating sometimes. Average Indian should not have an issue. The son of the hostess however is fluent in English and gave us a tour of the property. He is extremely helpful. If he is around you will have no issues whatsoever. All in all there is very little to complain about this gem of a place.
- Madan (10/5): Exceptional - We , the three Sr Citizens , received Great Hospitality from the Homestay . Madam looked after us like Elder Brothers. True to the letter, We are very much happy. Not mention worthy.
- Utkarsh (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place to stay . The food arranged by Pavithra aunty was very good which gives the feeling of homestay .Also thanks to suhas for guiding us the places. Overall, amazing experience.
- Anand (10/5): 101/100 perfect, looking forward for many more visits here for sure - Ambience, hosts like family NA
- Sandwana (10/5): Exceptional - Food was really good. And pavithra aunty was a really good host!! Really felt like a (home)stay. Rooms wer clean. Best place for a staycation.
- Raghavendra (10/5): Perfect homestay - Heritage homestay is a perfect place to stay in the amidst of nature. It was the best experience staying there. Location is very beautiful and also very easy to connect. This place is very well maintained. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owner. Owner was always there for our need. Home cooked food by madam was very tasty. Best thing of this homestay is owner themselves are maintaining the homestay not outsourced to any one. Details with regard to sight seeing were guided by Mr Suhas was very helpful. Rooms were very clean and tidy. Owner given utmost priority for the perfect maintenance of the property must be appreciated. Perfect homestay in Chikmagalur to spend quality time with family and friends. Eagerly waiting to visit again. Nil
