Guest Reviews
- Indochine (10/5): Perfect and recommended to all - Warm and welcoming hosts, excellent service, delicious food, and breathtaking views. Quietly located yet only about a 15-minute walk from Sapa’s lively town center. Highly recommended to all travelers. I look forward to returning with my family on my next trip to Sapa All are perfect!
- sushil (10/5): Best stay in sapa for nature lover - Best view from private rooms stays and as sell as the dormatries
The staff people are more than human they treat evryone like their own relatives
Friendly kind
I had best experience where I was suffering from severe fever and unable to breath
Trang duong helped us and took care us like a family helped us recover in 2days thanks for all the help in bringing doctor to room as well thank you soo much
Food taste was top notch best in sapa

- Fran (10/5): Top lokatie - De lokatie is echt geweldig.
Ben heel hartelijk ontvangen.
- Gerard (9/5): - Not far from Sapa, but outside. Much more quite, but you can go to the city by walk.
Very polity and helpfull people.
Anf fantastic place with amazing views.
- Minh Nhu (10/5): -
- Nicola (10/5): Lovely people who took great care of us. Felt like home away from home. - Breakfast was yummy. Good eggs and pancakes. Everything was great.
- Domitille (9/5): - Vey nice hosts, amazing view and nice little balcony to enjoy it. Great location as a starting point of many paths to walk/trek for the day.
Food was also great :D
- Small (9/5): This home stay had a relaxing and comfortable feel, it was spacious and clean and the owners were extremely kind and acc - The staff were extremely accomodating and made me feel very safe as a solo female traveller.
I arrived in the middle of the night after an overnight bus trip from Ha Giang and the owner kindly welcomed me in and made sure I was comfortable after I woke him up which I felt terrible about.
The place had a very home- like feel which was comfortable and enjoyable. I stayed one night in the private room and one night in the shared room and the view from both was amazing. I really enjoyed my stay there, would definitely come back again. No curtain between beds in shared room- there were curtains between some beds but not every bed.

- Katharyn (9/5): - Great location, hospitality was fantastic
- Lucia (9/5): Definitely recommend + owner very helpful! - The owner is very kind and always helpful. He organised a driver to pick me up from the bus and we had dinner together with his family and other guests. Also he gave me some very cool recommendations, just to mention only few positive aspects. Also they have three dogs which are absolutely adorable.☺️ The view from the view is stunning and, although the accomodation is located outside the city, it's easy to go there. Just order a grab or rent a scooter and all is fine. You just need to be a bit careful to ride down the path when it's raining but nothing impossible. A locker would be nice.
There's a school right next to it. So it could get a bit loud when the children have break depending on what they're playing 😀
- Callum (10/5): - The host, Trang, was excellent. Always happy to help or even just a cup of tea and a chat. He has great local knowledge and tries hard to make sure you feel welcome. I would recommend the family style meals at least once. Sharing and laughing together really highlights the authentic hospitality and friendliness the vietnamese people are famous for. The views are genuinely breathtaking as well.
- Camille (10/5): -
- gisele (10/5): - 👍
- Belloc (10/5): - Owner was the best. Really helpful with information about the area and the BEST view in Sapa
- Nou (8/5): -
- Rosie (8/5): - Clean room, comfortable. Food was excellent and freshly prepared.. Good views Good hot shower. Friendly helpful host It was a bit further out of town than we realised
- Pann (7/5): -
- Chau (1/5): Bedding were extremely dirty with stains. Used soap and toothbrush from previous guests in the room -
- sau ping (9/5): True connection to the beauty of nature and people - It had been my most wonderful time staying in Vietnam. Duong with his brother and sister manger such a beautiful homestay with natural scenery of Sapa, the room is very clean and comfortable, they offer different food all day.
Duong treats everyone so well, caring and response promptly.
He took very good care of me before check in and check out so as to make my way easy and safe. The most enjoyable time was learning to work in his garden and cooking with her brother and sister. We had dinner together with different delicious home meals.
I felt really like as being home with them. Definitely come again next visit to Sapa You have to walk a short steep distance from the Main road, it’s fine to me but have to consider if you come with elderly.
- Tp (10/5): - Sạch sẽ, view đẹp, đồ ăn ngon
- Elie (8/5): -
- Bella (10/5): Amazing - We had an amazing stay. The host and his brother were so welcoming and accommodating. Delicious food. The views were unbelievable. Nice distance from the busy town. Will stay again when returning to Sapa.
- Fernandez (10/5): It was the best place ever! I didn’t have money for my dinner and the owner’s brother and his wife invited me to eat wit -
- hieu (9/5): -
- Andres (10/5): - Beautiful place near Sapa town, with incredible views, very lovely host and amazing food! Very helpful with tours, recommendations and more. Again, the views are just magical, you wont regret it.
- Michael (10/5): Spectacular! - Duong and his family were amazing. Very friendly, helpful. Excellent cooks--the food was amazing and they throw very fun dinner parties. If you want, you can eat all your meals right there--plus they have bottled water and other drinks so you really don't even need to go to a grocery store. Duong was also very helpful arranging bus/train tickets back to Hanoi--he as connections. The place has a spectacular view and is right at the trail head to the Muong Hoa valley for hikes to Cat Cat and Lao Chai, Ta Van, et al.
- Rebecca (7/5): Cute but difficult to get to - The view was beautiful and the bungalow was quiet. We ate dinner there once and it was delicious. We had our laundry done but some items came back still stained. Getting from the street down to the property and viceversa with big backpacks is challenging as the stairs are steep and can be slippery when wet. The toilet in the room was dirty when we got there, although the rest of the room and bathroom were clean.
- Fortuna (10/5): Exceptional - I really enjoyed the tranquility of the place, the amazing view of the mountains, the loving people and the good food. It is the first place for me in Vietnam where they serve me very big quantity of food and organic.
From this location you see only nature, it is really worth it to be a bit far from the center of Sapa.
- Gioia (8/5): Amazing view - The view from the property ( if you don’t fall on foggy days) is absolutely stunning. You have mountains and rice fields everywhere
The positions was a 30 minute walk from the centre of Sapa, we enjoyed some piece of quite as there is quite a bit of traffic in the centre I would just keep in mind that there are many stairs to get down to the property, we had backpacks and it was quite a heavy load hahah but manageable
Because of the fog and rain we spent a lot of time in the bungalow I think the only thing missing would be a tv
- Ngss (10/5): Exceptional - Just need little walk to lodge, slide
- Martina (10/5): Exceptional - For me the location was great and I really liked it. The staff is friendly and you feel welcome as a guest.
I had great days here with great food and great people
- Shalani (10/5): Happy - The place was superb and you can view mountains all the time. Morning mist very romantic. The owner help us at nite to bringing us to enter the house even we came late night It too far from city which difficult to get grab
- Andrei (8/5): Very good - the food, the hospitality, the view on the first day the coffee had been absolutely magnificent, but on the second one it got over....
no hangers and no bedside lamp in the room
- Rachelle (10/5): Best homestay in Sapa! - The location is awesome! Just be prepared for a steep hill to get to it. Mattress was a little firm, but definitely not a deal breaker
- Leon (10/5): Please stay here, it’s amazing - Amazing views and food, the staff working there are so lovely and accommodating, it’s really not too far from sapa town aswell, about 60k taxi or 30 min walk. We booked a private room and it’s the best sleeps we’ve had whilst travelling.
- Lyn (8/5): Very good - Very helpful host. Helped with transport issues and translating messages
- Hanne (10/5): ULTRA TOP - the host ! the view ! you can ask him anything he will help you to go to the center, even if you arrive late at night you can enter ! very satistied !
- Ly (10/5): Great place away from the busy center - A very pretty view with nice hosts in a comfortable bungalow! We were welcomed immediately, even before our check-in time. The morning was lovely with good air! Our room was cute and very affordable! It was also quiet and no one who wants to sell you stuff all the time. The accommodation has a road which is like 200m down, it is not that bad only a little bit exhausting. I also recommend renting a bike because it's 3km away from the center
- Kelsey (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location both out of town but close enough to walk in (~30m which I enjoyed). The owner is kind and will help you with anything. There is a school behind the property so you may hear children being children in the morning. I was told it’s a bit louder in the dorm but in the private rooms it didn’t bother me as much.
- Mindra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yi-chiun (8/5): It’s a good place for budget consideration traveler or whoever doesn’t enjoy the city that much. - It’s far from the city which is good for me. It takes 40-50mins walk from town center to the stay. It will be better if you ride a motorcycle or with taxi. Host ask me to change from the dorm to the room for some reason which I don’t really understand.
- Aurora (10/5): I love this lodge. Duong is a very good and friendly host to make sure we are comfortable. - I love the place. It's very unique and the room is very comfortable. It's a bit far from the center but there was taxi available for us every time. Plus, there is a big friendly dog there named Zon and it is the highlight of my stay. nothing.
- Tami (9/5): Beautiful, peaceful stay with incredible view and kind staff. - Beautiful hotel in the middle of the mountains. Very peaceful and serene with kind staff who go out of their way to make you comfortable.
The room is really nice but basic and no black out curtains so a lot of light in the morning. Also, there is a small hill to go up anytime You want to leave the property, so not for people who have mobility issues.
- Benjamin (10/5): Beautiful! - Incredibly friendly staff, more than delicious food, they are happy to help organize trips. It's cold at night, so the beds are heated. Incredibly beautiful view from the terrace, quiet environment, away from the city center. I will definitly come back, I recommend it to people who want to spend time outside the city noise.
- Ludovico (10/5): Exceptional - We got the bungalow, it’s a really nice room, I wish I could have stayed longer, also the food was great and the host is a very kind man They were making the road so it was a bit hard to get to the place but they were done in couple of days
- Nitay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katie (9/5): N/A - N/A N/A
- Juan (9/5): Superb - The place has a very nice view of the mountains, and is very well located for hiking in nearby rice fields. It is close to the center but still far to feel in the mountains, walking to the center is about 40 minutes. The room with two beds is quite spacious and the bathroom is fine. The place is clean. he price/quality ratio is good. The internet in the double room on the first floor is a bit slow.
- Victor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (9/5): Superb - The bungalow room was comfy, clean, and had an amazing view! Its location outside of Sapa town made it peaceful and a lovely place to stay.
- Ashlyn (8/5): Overall the nomadtrails Homestay was a lovely get away close to the rice fields and villages. - The views were gorgeous and it was a very relaxing Homestay! Our host was very friendly and for most of the nights it was very quiet. The food, water, and trekking options were a bit pricey so my partner and I would grab or walk into torn for cheaper options. I expect this is an anomaly but on our last day a new group came to the Homestay and we’re really loud past the curfew and smoking indoors. Because it’s a wooden and bamboo Homestay smoke rises very quickly into the room. I messaged the host and he quickly dissipated the smoker which was lovely. Put possibly putting up no smoking signs and the curfew rules may remind new guests.
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were so kind and really helpful in getting us there ! The bungalow was very cute with a gorgeous view in the morning (even with bad weather). The terrace was lovely to sit at and have a few drinks and is only 10 min drive from centre of town.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - It was so quiet and quaint! Very rustic. Heated blankets made the cool room feel so comfy and cozy. We enjoyed it but I think some people from warmer countries would not enjoy the lack of insulation on the rooms. Overall the lack of heat anywhere in the place. But we didn’t mind!
- Dmitrii (7/5): Good - The homestay is beautifully made, I love the decor on the rooms. Location is good, stunning view but far from the town. The owners are always trying to sell you trekking… the breakfast there is overpriced.
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing views and great staff
- Anna (10/5): very relaxing and welcoming - the host was super welcoming and attentive . my bungalow was super cozy as well!! recommend if you’re looking for some relaxation during your travels
- Max (10/5): Amazing and genuine - The owner was amazing, provided brilliant service and always made sure I was ok. When I arrived, there was a group dinner ready, and I had the best night sharing a dinner with the other hostel goers and the staff. All the staff were brilliant I didn’t have a bed frame, but that’s ok.
- Purvi (10/5): Wonderful!! - We liked everything about the property it was clean, hygienic, people were helpful, the view was amazing Nothing
- Shai (10/5): Exceptional - Every thing was perfect⭐️
The location is amazing, very close by to the city, the view from the property is superb and the best part is the hospitality and the food:)
I will definitely come back
- Izzy (9/5): A wonderful stay in a clean and cosy room at the heart of the beautiful Sapa valley. - NomadTrails Lodge is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for accommodation outside of the main Sapa town and somewhere surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes. We loved our stay and felt extremely cosy in our private bungalow, during some cold and misty January days.
Our host Duong was very friendly, attentive, and generous. He clearly cares a lot about all of his guests, and is always available to help with any questions or services you need including taxis and activity recommendations (without ever pressuring to choose a particular option).
The breakfasts and coffee at the lodge is great, and one of our highlights of the stay was helping to prepare a big evening meal (we made the spring rolls!), which we then sat down to enjoy with Duong, his staff, and another guest. It was delicious, and a wonderful, sociable experience to have.
What we liked:
• Very comfortable double bed
• Spacious and clean room
• Aircon with very effective heater mode
• Shower with good pressure and hot water
• Stunning valley and mountain views (when it’s not misty!)
• Ideal, peaceful location between Sapa town and the rural farming villages (Lao Cai, Ta Van)
• Breakfast, lunch or dinner available at the lodge if you wish (for a cost) 30 minute walk or 200,000 VND taxi to Sapa town, so recommend staying here if you plan on hiring a motorbike during your visit
• The hot water in the shower lasts around 10 minutes before needing time to heat up again
• A lot of steps from the main road down to the lodge (sometimes slippy), so not ideal if you have any mobility issues
- Maxi (10/5): Exceptional - We took a separate house with a view of the mountain, a very good atmospheric place in the city of Sappa. Thank you
- Phyo (8/5): Very good -
- Lorenzo (8/5): SAPA with a View - Position is great
The host and the owner are always ready to help you and support. They offer new activities all the time.
The view is outstanding.
The breakfast and coffee that they prepare is very good an ld typical Rooms a little.bit cold
Early in the morning there is a kindergarten nearby doing a bit of noise from 7 am
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Das (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bruno (8/5): Very good - The place has a beautiful view looking at the valley from above and is located in a nice and quiet spot a few kms out of the busy Sapa. Hosts were very friendly. Entrance can be a bit tricky to find and the room was a bit moist and stuffy, but a bit of daily ventilation helped that.
- Pleun (10/5): Best location and amazing personal - Best location I have been, very quiet, and magnificent views to the Fansipan mountain, and valleys. From this lodge, you can do nice hikes to the amazing rice terraces and hill tribes villages. Their personal are friendly and helpful, if you have any questions, the hosts are at your disposal to help you. Deeply recommended to have lunch and dinner at their restaurant, delicious local food, fresh vegetables from their gardens, it's organic food, especially, you can join the cooking class with your host.
I strongly recommend Nomadtrails Lodge if you go to Sapa, and I will come back to stay again. Nothing, everything it's great!
- Elena (8/5): Very good - Very quiet and cozy location with beautiful view, stuff was super friendly, highly recommend to have a dinner at the place, food is homemade and delicious! A road to the place is a bit muddy, after the main road and you are going downhill which can be problematic if you have motorbike, yet however owner was very understanding and helpful and got my bike down and then up for me:)
- Patrycja (10/5): Has potential! - The house has a wonderful terrace with great views of the valley! It was hard to find it. There is nothing around the house like a coffee shop or restaurant
- Hoang (2/5): Very poor -
