- Dinethma (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at this villa. Everything was well-maintained, clean, and comfortable, making it a very relaxing experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed.
The villa offers great value for money, and its location is very convenient with easy access to the town as well as nearby tourist attractions. Overall, it was a pleasant and hassle-free stay, and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable getaway.

- Silvia (8/5): Great Location and Comfort, but Mosquito Issue Needs Attention - The hotel is located just a few steps from the main beach, which is very convenient. The room was a good size, the bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was also spacious. The small garden right in front of the door is very nice, and the breakfast area is pleasant as well. Breakfast itself was abundant and delicious. Overall, the property was clean and convenient.
There are many bars, restaurants, and shops nearby, all within walking distance, which makes the location very practical.
Overall, it was a good experience. One point I have to highlight, which was a downside, is the quantity of mosquitoes inside the property. It was impossible to have breakfast without being bitten, and even walking from the entrance to the door of our room—though a short distance—meant getting bitten by several mosquitoes. There were also many ants outside the room. This made it a bit uncomfortable because it was hard to fully relax and enjoy the common areas.
This issue could likely be fixed quickly if measures were taken to control the insects.

- MIKEL (9/5): - Muy buena ubicación, a metros de la playa y de la calle principal. Personal muy atento y servicial.
- Rachael (8/5): - Amazing location and lovely staff. Breakfast was great. The hotel seems to be undergoing some refurbishment so I can only imagine that it is going to get even better. Rooms are basic and could do with a bit of work so the improvements will be great. Water pressure in the shower was very low.
- Arany (8/5): Very good -
- Marisa (5/5): Mixed reviews - Staff very helpful and the breakfast was very nice Rooms did not get cleaned during 4 day stay, not supplies replenished, no daily bottles water for kettle, no daily tea and coffee. Had to ask for toilet paper and broom to sweep floors
- Mnunespt (8/5): Would stay again - Super helpful staff, we got an upgrade Everything was fine
- Rudolph (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed three nights in Mirissa and this hotel. We really really liked the accommodation. The staff was great and very kind. We had it booked with breakfast and dinner and both meals were always fantastic! Dinner included a starter, the main course and dessert. The place is also located quite central and extremely close to the beach, which is great. Going to Waligama also only takes 10 minutes by tuktuk. Due to location, the service including staff, the meals and the nice room, we would highly recommend staying here during your trip to Mirissa.
- Stone (8/5): Very good - Great customer service The breakfast
- Mohamed (7/5): Good - Great location. Great staff Cudnt close the toilet door and no coffee in the room

- Larissa (10/5): Exceeding Expectations! - Our stay was PERFECT! I don't have words to describe how amazing everything was at Anchorage.
Mr. Neranja and all the staff was the best surprise we had on our trip. They try to do everything to make us happy. They made dreams come true!
The food?! AMAZING! The chef is not only very kind but also cooks with heart. His food is full of flavours, simply delicious!
Thank you again, Mr. Neranja and all the staff, you are stars!
- Fan (10/5): Exceptional service, spotless rooms, and a prime location just minutes from Mirissa Beach—highly recommended and would l - The service at this property was absolutely outstanding – the staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with any requests. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and provided a very comfortable stay. The location is incredibly convenient, just a few minutes’ walk to the beautiful Mirissa Beach, making it easy to enjoy the sun and sea without hassle. The surrounding area also has plenty of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Mirissa. Highly recommended! N/A
- Ioana (1/5): Overall not a comfortable place - Staff was nice The rooms looked way worse than the pictures, there was dampness on the walls, rust in the bathroom and in one room the bed was broken and there were also several cockroaches.
- Giovanni (7/5): Good -
- Shannon (10/5): Wonderful and memorable stay at Anchorage Hotel. - My stay at Anchorage Hotel was nothing but a wonderful overall experience.
The location is excellent, the hotel is only a short 2 minute walk to the beach and located in a quiet area away from the noise of the main strip.
The hotel has been freshly renovated with taste and offers a great in house restaurant. Our rooms were clean, well-maintained, and spacious. I appreciated the small touches they included for guests comfort, for example the mini-fridge and complimentary toiletries.
The staff were friendly, extremely professional and we were always greeted with a big smile. No request was too big or small.
On our return to Mirissa during the same trip, our accomodation we had booked for New Year’s Eve fell through. Given our first stay at Anchorage was so wonderful, we contacted the owner directly to seek assistance. He arranged a room for us last minute and made sure we felt nothing less than comfortable.
Staying at Anchorage, felt more like staying with a good friend or family than at a Hotel. I would recommend the Anchorage Hotel to anyone visiting Mirissa.
- Borut (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (9/5): Superb -
- Muzna (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (5/5): Good budget hotel near the beach. - Close to the beach but not on it. Good choice for budget-conscious travelers. Breakfast included. We wanted a hotel in the beach.
- Júlia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynch (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (8/5): Superb location and the friendliest staff I’ve met in Sri Lanka - 5 min walk to the beach and some nice bars. - Staff are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. So accommodating and we’re happy to do me a breakfast later in the morning even though technically it finished at 10.
Breakfast was delicious - fruit, toast, coffee and Sri Lankan omelette It felt a bit tired and in need of a light refurb - though the owner said he is doing up the front to turn it into a restaurant and bar which would be very good!
- António (10/5): Really great stay! - Very good location as you're just a few meters from the beach, restaurants, supermarkets, bars, etc.
Rooms are spacious and well equipped!
Breakfast is really good and staff always supportive! Nothing
- Matthew (10/5): Great cheap find. Would recommend to anyone! - Great little hotel room. Back of the block. And quiet. Stay members were awesome. The included breakfast was great! What a great last minute find for us. Nothing.
- Mak (8/5): Very good - WiFi ,air-con and water pressure is very good . It just near the beach and the main road , the location is convenient. The staff is very nice and eager to help . The room is clean too. The experience is out of our expectation with this room price. /
- Michael (3/5): Poor - - Great location close to the beach as well as to the town center
- Staff was nice - The room had no windows
- No A/C in the room
- Temperature in the room was over 35 degrees celsius
- Fan didn’t help as there are no windows
- No fridge in the room or in the common areas
- Not a good experience
- Jessica (9/5): Excellent location - Room was located at the back of the property, with a small verandah overlooking a courtyard. Property had been recently renovated, was clean, excellent air con, and great shower. Decent breakfast and short walk to the beach (even shorter if you stroll through the beach club opposite!). Verandah doors has slated ventilation which weren't covered up, so mosquitoes could get in.
- Jeroen (9/5): Very well located in Mirissa - The staff is absolutely friendly and were very helpful even with our late check out providing refreshing opportunities
Breakfast was of good proportion with a variety of fruits and choices such as pancakes or granola.
The location is very convenient and with a 1 minute walk you are at the beach.
The frontside of the hotel looks clean and seems to be maintained not long ago.
The room are modest but needs the essentials such as warm water and airco. Not much, the family hotel is value for money
- Redon (9/5): Superb - Close to the beach and super helpful staff.
- Aj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sebastiano (1/5): Bad - Nothing was good. Bad price, dirty structure. There were no towels inside the room. The bed was dirty and room was extremely hot, sleeping was impossible.
I suggest everyone to not to come. Everything was bad.
- Inga (7/5): Super location but minor improvements would help a lot for a comfortable stay - -The location is excellent- 2-3min away from the beach and around many different restaurants
-Very clean, good towels
-very friendly staff
-nice breakfast - the smallest beds we had in Sri Lanka, my husband had to sleep diagonal as otherwise his feet wouldnt fit in (he is quite tall though 195cm)
- mosquito net provided per request was terrible- its like a tent put on a bed and you actually have to sleep on the net (wonder how its being cleaned also), see picture
- plenty of mosquitoes when we arrived so would t do without net, as we left after 2 nights it got much much better so perhaps no mosquito net could be an option if you are willing to invest your time to hunt them all..
- we had issues with no water apparently due to some renovations.. they quickly fixed it but the water pressure was on and off- wondering whether everytime someone else is taking a shower, pressure goes down to everyone
- Richard (4/5): there's better places in mirrisa - the staff was nice the room was terrible for the price
- Robert (10/5): 1 night at Anchorage - Our breakfast was the best breakfast we have had in Sri Lanka in the month that we have been here. We had fruit, freshly made pancakes with fresh fruit & honey, granola with yogurt fresh fruit & honey, fruit juice and a pot of tea.
The bed is massive and comfortable.
The shower had a proper shower enclosure which is a very rare thing in Sri Lanka, as you generally end up washing the entire bathroom.
The staff are so welcoming and helpful.
Good location. 2 min walk to the beach. Close to many bars and restaurants without having to go out on to the main road. No mosquito net over the bed was a concern, however we didn't get bitten. We did leave a mosquito coil burning all night on the balcony as a precaution.
- Ryan (10/5): I hope this review captures the essence of my delightful stay. Happy travels! 🌴✨ - Anchorage Mirissa
❤️
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Anchorage Mirissa during my visit to Sri Lanka. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality.
1. Impeccable Service
The staff at Anchorage Mirissa went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Special thanks to the manager Madu, and her team, Chamila, Krishan, Sanjeewa, Osadha & Hansana, their service was impeccable. They anticipated my needs and made me feel like a valued guest.
2. Serene Ambiance
The hotel’s design is a perfect blend of modern elegance and functional charm. The lush greenery in the surroundings and the soothing beach front created a serene ambiance. I enjoyed sipping my morning Tea, surrounded by tropical trees—it truly felt like an oasis in the bustling city.
3. Culinary Delights
The hotel’s Chef Chamila deserves a special mention. The breakfast service was a delightful spread of value for money local and international dishes. I relished the freshly baked pancakes, exotic fruits, and aromatic Sri Lankan tea. For dinner, I indulged in local specialties that were bursting with spice and flavor.
4. Comfortable Rooms
My room were clean and equipped with all the amenities I needed. I appreciated the attention to detail. The mosquito issue with tropical climate exists but it is similar with other resorts too, the staff has repellent spray and electric diffuser etc. so please ask the manager.
5. Prime Location
This place is 2-3 hrs drive from the BN International airport so you can either Uber or ask the hotel to arrange for pick up. Buy a local SIM card from the airport, Dialog & SLT mobitel are cheap. I explored the nearby Mirissa beach, Galle Fort, enjoyed sunset strolls along the beach. Visited Cargills & Keels for general shopping.
In Summary:
If you’re looking for a tranquil retreat in Mirissa, I highly recommend the Anchorage Mirissa.

- Kristin (10/5): An amazing stay! - We are two Norwegian girls that stayed at Anchorage for two weeks. We absolutly loved staying at the Anchorage. Not only was the location right next to Mirissa beach perfect for us, the staff was also super friendly! We were treated like a part of the family, and felt super safe her. The breakfast, made by lovely Chamila, was amazing and we could choose between omelettes, delicious pancakes and granola bowls. The rooms were very clean and pretty quite during the evenings. Would really recommend this hotel!
