- Victoria (10/5): -
- William Bruce (10/5): met all our needs, warm, great cottage, easy to find - very cosy cottage N/A
- Max (10/5): - Gute Ausstattung, perfekte Kommunikation, engagierter Host
- Robert (10/5): - Great house, very clean. Communication very clear.
- George (10/5): Perfect stay. Perfect wee cottage. Clean. Fresh. Bright. Absolutely everything anyone could need. - Perfect in every way. So clean. Fresh. Bright. Great location. Couldn’t have wanted anything else. N/A
- Diane (10/5): Excellent location - This is a lovely little place to stay, the owner has really thought about how to make your stay comfortable with lots of little extra touches, a real home from home. There’s a great information booklet provided that has suggested itineraries which is really helpful. Nothing to not like.
- David (10/5): Was generally what we needed, nicely appointed - Location great, only 15 mins from the ferry and drop box access Would helped to know there were steps in to the property and the path to the door was gravel and the door was on the other side to the car park, as my wife has mobility issues. We needed somewhere on Lewis so this was more than fine.
- Duffin (10/5): -
- Dale (10/5): - Great communication with the host, very clean and warm.
- Antony (10/5): Good value for money - The level of cleanliness was very high. The flexibility of checking. It was warm and peaceful Settie wasn’t too comfortable
- stephanie subashni (10/5): Lovely wee Cottage - Everything! Comfort bed, and sofa. Loved the tea and coffee selections. Very good size shower and bathroom. That I didn't stay longer!
- Gillian (9/5): -
- Andie (10/5): Very attentive host, lovely property. - The property was exceptionally clean and well stocked, the host really considered all of the small details. Full tea and coffee, nice shampoo and body wash, treats for the dog, excellent guide book ….really went above and beyond. Absolutely nothing.
- Angels 68 (10/5): What an amazing spot! - Our stay at Peninsula Cottage in Aird, Isle of Lewis was absolutely outstanding — one of the most peaceful and memorable places we’ve ever stayed. The cottage is set in an extraordinary location overlooking the Atlantic, surrounded by rugged coastline, open moorland, and vast skies that seem to change by the minute. It’s the perfect place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and experience the true tranquillity of the Outer Hebrides.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that everything had been thoughtfully prepared to the highest standard. The cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, and exceptionally well equipped. Every detail — from the furnishings and layout to the warmth and comfort of the living spaces — felt carefully designed to make guests feel immediately at ease.
One of the things we particularly appreciated was the owner’s approach to guest privacy. Rather than meeting visitors on arrival, everything is arranged so smoothly and clearly that you can simply arrive, settle in, and enjoy the space without interruption. It’s a concept that works perfectly here — guests have total independence, but you can feel the quiet care and attention that’s gone into every aspect of the property. The communication beforehand was excellent, friendly, and informative, so we had everything we needed from the start.
The views from Peninsula Cottage are simply breathtaking. From sunrise to sunset, the changing light over the sea and landscape creates a view that never grows old. We spent many evenings just watching the horizon and listening to the sound of the waves — pure serenity. The sense of calm and remoteness here is wonderful, yet you’re still within easy reach of Stornoway and many of the island’s most beautiful beaches and attractions.
This is the kind of place that encourages you to slow down, breathe deeply, and just be. Cannot think of anything

The milk and cookies were a lovely touch.
Thanks

- Ella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Relaxing - Beautiful little cottage, exceeded our expectations, photos do not do it justice.
Lovely and cozy, spotlessly clean, comfy bed.
Little extra touches help, like fresh milk on arrival is one less thing to worry about, especially if you’ve had a long journey.
Outside as immaculate as the inside
Would’ve loved to have stayed longer Nothing to dislike
- Tracy (9/5): Cosy, comfortable, perfect for a couple (or a single traveller) dog friendly - Cosy and comfortable. Heating and lights were on when we arrived so felt welcoming. Very clean. Really informative hosts. Great guest book full of suggestions for what to do / where to visit. Lovely additional touches like the shortbread and the dog treats. There isn’t anything we didn’t like.
Some small improvements might be: separate switch for kitchen lights and fan (it’s loud and you don’t always need it on!) and an additional side / standing lamp in the sitting / dining room area.
- Gary (9/5): My wife made a great choice when she picked the Peninsula Cottage. - Excellent cottage, very well appointed and comfortable. I would highly recommend it for visitors to the area. Communication from the host was very clear and helpful. Nothing
- Jana (9/5): Such a nice place to be - The location was pretty good, only 9 miles from Stornoway. You can make some easy walks around the cottage, but you can easily reach any other place on Lewis (and Harris). I mean, there is nothing to say or complain about.

- Andrew (10/5): A peaceful oasis at the end of a long day. - Sadly, we only had a short time in this lovely property, but the attention to detail and lovely additional touches made us wish we had longer. We arrived late in the day having taken the boat trip to St. Kilda and driven up from Leverburgh, so it was wonderful to find this peaceful and comfortable property to recharge. Excellent communication with the host though we unfortunately never met in person.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - A gorgeous little cottage. SO clean and lovely on arrival with delicious welcome biscuits too. Everything was so well thought out. It really was a pleasure stay there!

Would highly recommend! Nothing!
- Mackie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely stay at Peninsula Cottage. It exceeded our expectations. We booked it as a stop off for one night following our trip through the Isles. We wished we could have stayed for longer as it really felt like a home from home. The owners had gone the extra mile and everything and more that you needed for a comfortable stay was provided. A lot of effort had been put into preparing a guest information folder with photos and detailed suggested daily itinerary for trips. The best we had seen. It was unfortunate, due to our short stay that we couldn’t utilise it; however, it makes us want to return. We would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to the Isle of Lewis.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (9/5): A great stop off - Great stop off! We could have stayed longer. Bright, modern and comfortable. Everything provided for a good stay. Great to have free access to netflix, heating on when we arrived and some basics provided.. Staff very friendly. I would definitely stay again. There was nothing we didn't like. House close to road and can be a bit noisy during busier times.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Excellent one night stay in a place that provided everything you could need. Would highly recommend. - This was an excellent place to stay having arrived on the evening ferry. The place was warm, comfortable and spotless. Fresh milk in the fridge and an ample supply of teas and coffees were much appreciated. There were lovely toiletries, too. As novices to key safes, we did have a problem getting in, but someone in a neighbouring cottage helped us. We’re not used to a 4ft 6in bed, but did sleep well. I also had a slight problem getting really hot water out of the kitchen tap, possibly my fault! 🥴
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing host and fantastic location! 10/10 would stay here again! Such an amazing spot! Everything was fantastic, no complaints
- David (10/5): Very pleasant cottage. - Very comfortable, all you need fora away from home break. Nothing, all was good.
- Ian (9/5): Superb - The accommodation was warm, welcoming and very comfortable. Small details such as fresh milk in the fridge, coffee and varieties of coffee syrups made it very homely. The bed was wonderfully comfy and warm, very much needed when it was 70+mph winds and sleet outside!
- Danielle (10/5): Beautiful and modern, would stay again! - Beautiful interior, everything feels so modern and clean. The views were lovely and the section is so well kept. Only a 10-15min drive to the town centre. Absolutely recommend! (Definitely bring snacks or food) Nothing, it was perfect. Be aware when using the washing machine that it seems like it is about to take off!
- Karin (10/5): Cosy little cottage - Perfect little cottage with everything you could need. There was even fresh milk in the fridge! Warm and cosy place to stay, not far from Stornoway

- Graham (9/5): Superb - We found Peninsula cottage cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. The host was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay on this quiet peninsula on Lewis.
Stornaway is only a few miles away with good access to the ferry. There is nothing to complain about. Everything was good.
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, well maintained, nice feel
- Alannaha (9/5): Loved the stay can not fault the cottage and the host was exceptional with communication would recom - The cottage is so lovely and cosy with great amenities dishwasher washing machine etc
Also the little touches for arrival that the host included were fantastic milk sugar hot chocolate and specialty coffees were welcomed.
Also all the tools needed to cook in house if required It’s not a dislike but would have preferred a secure garden for my dogs as it sits on the road but that was my fault not checking the garden was secure
But the space is amazing for dogs kept on lead
So not a dislike just a personal preference
- Marjory (10/5): Cosy, home from home - Everything. It’s a beautifully furnished and comfortable cottage. Gemma has put a lot of time and thought into creating a home from home. - Kirstie (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (5/5): Disappointed at the lack of facitilies - It was a nice touch that there was tea and milk and suger etc There was no hot water to wash dishes or have a bath, no hairdryer nowhere to put toiletries in the bathroom, no coffee table to put a mug or book on, no coffee for the cafetiere, no outdoor seating or bbq, no host details in the cottage.
- Audrey (9/5): Great wee place - Clean and comfortable. Loved the jug of fresh milk in the fridge, thank you. Shower isn't great, very low pressure, but able to get washed

The cottage had everything you could possibly want and Gemma had added extra little touches that made it special. A lovely quiet location and parking on site. There was a small quantity of all the essentials (and some luxury items too) and a range of excellent appliances. Even an external clothes line.
