- Patrick (5/5): Great people - but booking not honoured - Very friendly and engaged staff.
Made our brief visit very pleasant.
Would recommend them. Our booking was not honored.
We had to make-do with alternate arrangements due to a double booking.
- Scoopers103 (8/5): Very good - Nice views, near rock painting, relaxing place, nice staff. Good birding around the area. Staff took me to bus at 6 in the morning. There is no water to refill bottles, but that's understandable. The food was a bit pricey for ugandans standards, low shower pressure, no fan.
- Andrew (10/5): A perfect escape into the wild - The location was perfect for a remote escape from the world, set amongst surrounding rocks and peaceful village life. It was a bit off the beaten path and not easy to find which was part of the appeal for myself.
The accommodation is nice and simple and provides a comfortable bed and unique experience
The hosts were amazing and involved in many interesting projects, true entrepreneurs helping the local community
A very big delicious breakfast and dinner were available on request payable separately
All in all I would recommend this experience for the adventurous nature lover I didn’t bother me personally but there was no hot water or Wi-Fi (although I’m sure they would heat some water if required)
- Ian (9/5): Friendly and educational stay in a scenic area - James and his son were incredibly welcoming, and spent a lot of time with us. We learnt about the alternative school they run on the property and their great plans for the future. It is a short walk to the rock paintings, and in a peaceful and very scenic area. The hut we stayed in was nice, with two big beds and a decent bathroom.
- Gudrun (9/5): Fantastic location: very nearby the wonderful Nyero rock paintings - We loved the location, far away from any road, very quiet and calm, and right at the rocks of the wonderful Nyero rock paintings. The founder of the training center who runs the guesthouses has been super friendly and very accommodating because I made a booking mistake. Good Ugandan food with nice mangoes at the time of our visit. The kids immediately found friends for a game of football… I’d like to suggest sone additional hooks to hang towels or bags in the bedroom area and maybe slightly larger diameter for future guesthouses.
- Miguel (10/5): Exceptional - Staff Nothing
- Schulze (8/5): Very good - The family, who runs the business is very friendly, helpful and attentive. They really bother about their guests well being. For example, we took a bus from Kampala to Kumi and because of the traffic we only arrived at 2am. Luckily they still picked us up from Kumi. Moreover, they showed us around and took us to the nyero rock paintings, which are very impressive. Eventhough the meals are a bit expensive for what you get, in total the price is fair because of the brilliant service. Would recommend this place 100%.
- Cecilia (10/5): Like family - It was fantastic! The family that runs it is very very nice and sweet, they are there for any need. Nice big room, comfortable bed with net.
Dinner and breakfast both have been super good! Close to the nyero rock painting.
Highly recommended! No hot water
