• Janette (8/5): Thought I was booking a motel room but was pleasantly surprised with a more Airbnb type accommodati. - The room was very clean and well presented. The room opened into a large rumpus room/common area making the place feel very spacious. Nice and quiet the night I stayed. Could be not so peaceful if other guests staying were not so considerate of others and were up late in the common area. But I guess that’s where the caretakers/owners come in. The outside condition of lawns/garden areas looked like they could do with a bit more attention.

• Kathleen (3/5): I would not recommend unless you are on a strict budget. - Quiet location. This was a “share house” situation which I did not expect. By this I mean a suburban style brick house with locks on the bedroom doors. Shared kitchen left a lot to be desired, with greasy smells. External area very untidy, and country location means an invitation for snakes and other creepy crawlies.

• Evan (6/5): A neat room at a good price. - The room was well-furnished and neat. The airconditioning was able to overcome the high summer temperatures in this part of the world. The apartments are about 7 minutes outside town - an easy drive. I could not get the airconditioning controls in the room to work - I suggest that you phone Meg, and ask her to adjust the temperature to your liking. It would benefit with some attention from a gardener.

• dick (2/5): - ‘Set in an industrial estate in Singleton, this ‘motel’ takes retro kitsch to a whole new level. It’s more of a boarding house with the lower level of a 70s two storey house separated into bedrooms off a weirdly decorated common area where the shared(yep!) bathroom is also located. It was advertised as dog friendly but we were slugged another $30 on arrival for the dog that had previously been added. The bed linen consisted of an old washed-out red bottom sheet, white(ish) top sheet and the colour combinations didn’t end there. I would elaborate but I’m too tired from lack of sleep. Appalling!’

The host was very accomodating and gave us a free upgrade to a room with a private bathroom. Quiet, comfortable, shampoo and bodywash provided. Everything you need for a short stay. Maybe its on me but I didnt realise it was a sharehouse until reading some reviews

Quiet uncrowded and new with well lit off street carpark. Not quite sound proof but acceptable - you're not exactly staying here for a sleep in and breakfast in bed ;-)

No little hotel soaps - there was shower gel and just things you expect in a house, but not a hotel. Door locked well and had ensuite, plus TV and more space in my room than most hotels - I liked it!

Shared kitchen which would have been good to know before hand as we would'nt have had to go back out for dinner. Couldn't use the pool as it was feral

I can't find a fault with the facilities itself, good value for a place to stay I reckon. Meg was very helpful and I would definitely book again if I'm in the area again. The place is a shared kitchen and might be a little noisy with people getting ready for work in the early mornings. As most shared places can be so it is a given.

I didn't spend too much time in the room as I work during the day. Meg showed me the place and was very helpful with my inquiries throughout the stay. I would book again for sure as the value is hard to beat. The kitchen is shared so it can be a little noisy early mornings, but as most shared places just have to plan for it.
