- colin (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay in this quirky, well thought out cottage. Lots of lovely details and care put into making this p - Cosy and quirky cottage in a great location. The spiral staircase to the bedroom needs some care and attention in the middle of the night as the toilet is on the ground floor.
- KevEff (10/5): A little gem - Fantastic place to stay... Right in the centre of town.. will be back (if it's available š) Nothing... Perfect vacation

- dean (10/5): Perfect cosy cottage - A small but perfectly formed cottage. Everything you need for a break away from home.
Lovely log burner and so warm and cosy
All the equipment you need to cook and eat in if you want to, inc coffee machine and air fryer and all the pots, pans and utensils you need
Ideally located just a short walk from the centre and a great location for exploring further.
The spiral stair case adds to the charm of the property but yes think about this if you are booking but donāt take it as a negative
Would definitely stay again
- Julia (10/5): Perfect little cottage for a stay in North Yorkshire - The property is delightful and very well situated. The keys were in a lockbox, and the owner was flexible about an earlier check-in, although we didn't need it. We loved the log burner and there was really everything we needed. Having read the negative reviews about the spiral staircase and the low head height in the bedroom, I was slightly concerned, but they weren't an issue at all. Good shower, large fridge-freezer, lots of extras that we didn't necessarily need, but many people would be happy to have. Lots of shops/ supermarkets nearby and very handy for the Moors. We liked the quirky decor and the warmth of the cottage. The only thing that could've been improved is the responsiveness of the owner. I sent a couple of messages, one upon arrival and the other on the second day. Neither got an answer until we left. They weren't major issues (one concerned no hot water in the kitchen - I just boiled up water in the kettle to wash up; the other about the log-burner) and we found the answers ourselves, but I would have hoped for swift answers, as is usually the case in any other properties I have rented.

- Verity (10/5): - Beautiful cosy little cottage, perfect for our short break! Little Christmas touches were so welcoming, the log burner made it even more relaxing and the products for use were gorgeous!
Would definitely stay again! Great location with a super friendly little local pub. Perfect weekend away.
- Donna (10/5): Our little Christmas retreat. - Andrew has a beautiful place, with top quality facilities, everything you needed was provided and location was excellent, shops pubs and town centre minutes from the cottage.
Parking was available on site just outside the cottage which was great, but there was plenty of free on street parking outside the cottage. Thanks for helping us have a relaxing time Donna and Col.
Will definitely book again. Everything was fine, not sure what people would have to complain or comment on to be honest.
- Fenton (9/5): -
- Kay (9/5): Very comfortable, homely stay š - Very quirky and original with the decor Spiral stairs a little daunting!
- nicola (10/5): Loved Cornerstone cottage! - Every detail about Cornerstone was high quality, quirky, unusual & amazing. From the decor to the different selection of teas & coffees, the personalised umbrellas, designer high quality toiletries. The communication with he owner was exceptionl. - Barrie (9/5): -
- Ben (10/5): -
- Christine (10/5): - Everything & more than expected were provided Spiral staircase, thankfully, the reviews helped, so I took an airbed with me to sleep downstairs & it proved to be a great choice as the spiral staircase was an issue for me being disabled. My hubby was OK sleeping upstairs, so it worked out fine for us.
- Tracey (10/5): Pleasant location and I would revisit for a break again - Fully equipped clean quirky pleasant looking street very different to my usual stays. When inside itās soundproof and owner has exceptional and sometimes quirky taste in the items situated round the place well you will see that for your place Tastefully decorated expensively so
- Steve (9/5): Lovely cottage for a couple. - Loved the place, perfect for two people, everything we needed.
Walking distance from the Station was the most important thing for us. For us the spiral staircase was difficult, but that was because we are in our 70s
- Anita (10/5): Would highly recommend staying at Cornerstone House. Perfect location if you want to walk the Moors and visit the coast. - Great location as a base for North Yorkshire Moors and coast. Cottage had absolutely everything you need and more! Nothing
- Ian (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Dorothy (9/5): - Walking distance to Pickering. Small and compact. Kitchen facilities excellent. Bed very comfy. Staircase was a little difficult but if you were slow and careful it was ok.
- Warrington (9/5): - We loved the location, property was clean and very well equipped. Spiral staircase was a bit wobbly!!

- Stuart (10/5): Quirky, comfortable, will go back for a winter experience.5* - Very quirky, no expense spared on furnishings and kitchen equipment. Very nice to have tea, coffee etc and not a cheap brand. 5* Bedroom very warm but that was the time of the year. Couldnāt work the dehumidifier as it was blowing warm air BUT there was also a fan š
- Ernest (10/5): Great accommodation and location - Absolutely love everything about the cottage None thing
- Brendan (10/5): Comfy, cosy, welcoming - Very clean, cosy property. Everything as described. Coffee machine is a great addition :)
- Julie (8/5): A comfortable and central property - Good use of space. Comfy property. Husband who likes all things horror liked the decor. Well designed for a small property. Lovely and central for the town As pensioners the spiral staircase was a little challenging. The parking was adequate but left no space for sitting out.
- Amanda (9/5): Fantastic place to relax in comfort. - This little gem was packed with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable, cosy stay.
Fantastic use of space to hold all the facilities needed. There's nothing too dislike about this property. It is well appointed and maintained although the spiral staircase would prove difficult for someone of more ample proportions!
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (9/5): Superb - The log fire and all the quaint furnishing, very clean and tidy anf clise to town centre, with good comunication with owner The spiral staircase from downstairs to bedroom
- Kathryn (10/5): Exactly what I wanted for a short stay solo break. - Quirky little home from home. Perfect stay for solo or couple. Be prepared to navigate a spiral staircase! Funky decor which was well designed for a small building. Even space for a little bit of alfresco seating. In a residential area, minutes walk to town centre. Lovely area to explore for the outdoors with a dog. There wasnāt anything I didnāt like. Struggled to find a corkscrew and tv reception was a little wobbly. Small issues!
- Jacqueline (10/5): Fantastic quirky place to stay. - A quirky little house that was equipped for every possible need.
Cosy and comfy, a really short walk into the centre of Pickering. Ideal place to stay for exploring Pickering and surrounding areas. Would highly recommend. For me, the pillows were a little too hard. For some, they may be perfect.
- Charmian (9/5): Superb - Loved the quirkiness of the cottage. Very convenient to walk into Pickering and access amenities. Great for a short break. Took a while to get used to the low ceiling in the bedroom!
- Hall (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet area, close to the Sun inn, close to the station and not having to use the car. Lots of wood for the burner although I didn't use it. Most places leave just enough for a few hours. The spiral staircase. I was with my clingy collie and I thought he would try and get upstairs and injure himself so I slept on the rug.
- Jill (10/5): Very pleasant stay. - Quirky decor.
Spotlessly clean
Great location
- James (10/5): Family visit - Cosy, quirky, compact and comfortable. Great little place. Excellent location, just minutes walking to/from Pickering centre. As mentioned in other reviews, the spiral staircase maybe an issue to negotiate for some, but a minor detail in what was a lovely relaxing stay.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb - Love the decor, very clean, great area, perfect stay.
- Martha (10/5): A super place to stay.Very well equipped. - A great location and .a very well equipped house. The ceiling upstairs is a bit low.
- Melissa (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Ideal for my needs and would most certainly stay again - Lovely and cosy - enjoyed the log fire especially
- Gary (10/5): Perfect - A quirky property with everything you need for a perfect short stay Couldnāt fault anything
- Victoria (8/5): Very good -
- Jacqui (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely quirky little cottage close to everything would defo go again x
- Rosslyn (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage is very clean comfortable and quirky, there was so much to look at . A bit wary of the spiral staircase even though it looked wonderful.
- William (9/5): Lovely little cottage. - Great little place has everything you need, log burner was very cosy on cold nights ,very quiet location easily fit a medium size car on front, the spiral staircase might be a bit tricky if you have mobility issues we loved the place a lot š we didn't see Andrew the owner it would have been nice to meet him but maybe he was busy. Nothing
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful cottage, well set out and loved the quirky decor. Beautifully clean and stocked with useful items. The bath towels were amazing and the bed was extremely comfortable. Nothing, it was perfect
- Noel (9/5): Superb -
- Elena (9/5): Recommended - Lovely place, very clean Too close to the road
- Cat (10/5): Amazing - The cottage was amazing. I was put off before I went after reading reviews about the stairs because I have just had major abdominal surgery and not very mobile at the moment but I managed to get up and down the stairs without help. The quirky stuff I thought was fantastic. Even thinking about buying that toilet for our own house. It's bigger than it looks from the outside and had no problems with the bedroom ceiling upstairs either as there is plenty of room to walk to the bed. Large walk in shower. Also managed to park our jeep in the driveway. The door to enter the cottage alone gives so much character and the gargoyle on the roof. We both loved everything from the plates, tumblers, mugs, cutlery and the wee jars in the fridge. The wine rack had a great variety of wines, you just leave the money in the bowl on top or replace the bottle. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in from any of the bookings we have ever had and we go away an awful lot and stay in some nice places. A lot of money has been spent on this cottage and it tells. There were logs for us to light the fire which we did and it was so cozy and relaxing. We have saved this property and will definitely be going again to stay. Thank you so much Andrew for such a pleasant stay. Having to go home. If my partner wasn't back to work we would most definitely have added on an extra night or 2.
- Leyanne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about my stay was brilliant. Great location, cosy and well equipped. It was like home from home. The fire on the cold evenings was also a bonus. I would definitely stay here again.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (10/5): Lovely stay - Love the quirky decor, the gothic touches were ace, especially the toilet ! The fire kicks out great heat and kept us cosy while it snowed outside. The bed is very comfortable, and the wine rack was a lovely suprise !
Really very nice and we will return! We liked it, but just a consideration for those who are unsteady walking, the stair case is narrow and steep and has a slight wobble. It's perfectly safe, but it may be difficult for some. But it's a really attractive feature!
- Nick (10/5): Lovely Place - Lovely little cottage, perfectly positioned for all of Pickering. Everything there that you need. I'm definitely going back Going home š
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Last minute booking, throughly enjoyed in this beautiful little gem!! - Great location. Well equipped everything you need and more!
Beautifully decorated and furnished. The stairs, but we knew from the reviews we would struggle but it didnāt put us off. We booked and had a fab two nights stay !!
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - Would highly recommend. Beautiful cosy cottage had everything we needed. close to pubs and shops
- Naomi (10/5): Lovely hideaway! - Perfect little get away! Wonderful touches, central location! Would definitely return! Nothing
- David (8/5): Enjoyed our restful break right in the centre of Pickering. - Well kitted out, excellent location, very quiet, very clean, warm and cosy. Spiral staircase tricky to navigate.
- Ernest (10/5): Fantastic holiday cottage. We loved it! - Loved the little barn conversion , it had everything and more inside to make the stay brilliant. Some very quirky objects inside which were great, the settee and bed were very comfy. Very clean. Nothing
- David (8/5): Had a lovely weekend stay in pickering - Perfect central for Pickering the accommodation had been very well thought out Andrew goes above and beyond to make the stay as easy as possible lots of extras he doesnāt have to provide and the place is so cute and quirky All was good nothing not to like
- Diane (6/5): Pleasant - No wifi connection available.
A very difficult corner to get safely on the road.
- Graham (8/5): Very good - Very clean. Kitchen very well appointed with plenty of catering accoutrements. No dining area and height of bedroom ceiling.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Everything fantastic place decorated to very high spec! Lots of detail absolutely beautiful place ! Great location too ! Definitely will be back š Nothing to dislike
- Lynne (9/5): Quirky getaway in a lovely market town - Cozy and very nicely decorated, had everything we needed. Lovely bathroom with excellent lighting. Headroom in the bedroom is a bit limited, but it wasn't a problem.
- Lesley (10/5): Quirky little cottage in a lovely traditional town. - Great location, quiet but close to the town which was an easy walk. Very quirky and a lot of attention to detail. The bed was incredibly comfortable. A lovely little break in a lovely little cottage. Nothing, it was all great.
- Hopkins (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent place No complaints at all
- Simone (9/5): Great stay in a quirky little cottage. - Great location for Pickering and exploring the NYM. The house had everything we needed for the weekend. It was very clean and nicely decorated.

- Drakes (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Quirky well played out accom, great location Was very hot in the loft bedroom
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oil (10/5): Exceptional - Very Quarkie and done out tastefully
Nice wine selection at a reasonable price
- Lynette (9/5): Although the cottage was small and compact we had everything we needed. - The cottage was very well equipped, high quality and very comfortable. In a quiet location but close to amenities. The extras left in the fridge were most appreciated. The headroom in the bedroom was quite restricted. Another light switch for the upstairs light at the bottom of the stairs would have been preferable.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Short break - The most beautiful little cottage, spotlessly clean and very quirky. Attention to detail was very nice and the owner had thought of everything, would highly recommend for a couple. Nothing
- John (8/5): Loved the cottage and the host Andrew has thought of everything for your stay - Spiral staircase but was aware of this before we booked, my personal view would be to fit a proper staircase as the spiral staircase will put a lot of people off from booking it has the space for a proper staircase and I think it would be money well spent.
Apart from the spiral staircase it is a lovely place to stay.
- Sharon (10/5): Felt so welcomed in this lovely cottage - Wonderful little cottage in a great location in Pickering, easy walk to town street , immaculately clean and really warm cosy and comfortable , easy parking in front of cottage for med sized car
Wonderfully surprised by host on leaving lovely treats for us - and just loved the wacky unique decor - well done to the hosts , canāt wait to return If you have any mobility issues you may find the spiral staircase a bit difficult
- Joanne (10/5): Excellent location ,solo traveler with dog , lovely amenities, great shops and lots to do will definitely return - The property was outstanding, clean , comfy luxurious bed with very modern fittings ,, such great detail in everything even had a bed for the dog .The spiral staircase was beautiful . Nothink I loved it all
- Mariƫlle (10/5): Comfortable cosy stay! - Quirky and comfortable Nothing
- Noble (10/5): Exceptional - Everything anyone could want...including a washing machine ! Beautiful cottage in a central but quiet location. Clean and airy...a perfect bolt hole base for adventures. Not so keen on the sprial staircase...but only way to get to the bedroom...
- Jordon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ella (9/5): Beautiful stay, will be returning! - What a find! This place is beautiful, I donāt think the photos do it the justice it really deserves. High quality throughout, really cool gothic ornaments so it wasnāt plain, and lovely touches such as milk in the fridge, optional bottle of wine etc. As the instructions indicated you canāt fit anything other than a normal sized car on the front, we have a truck and managed to park really easily on the road right in front of the building. Location is fantastic & central. Already looking at rebooking for summertime. Not so much a dislike as we thought the spiral staircase was quirky, but possibly if you were a larger/heavier person Iād have been cautious of using it as it did flex and move for us who are smaller, it felt a bit thin in quality to be honest. We had a small puppy as well and were sceptical about her going up and down it falling through the gaps but we just picked her up. Appreciate thereās limited storage space, but as it is doggy friendly I think having an optional safety guard to place around the front of the fireplace would give you that level of comfort, as you never know. Again, both minor issues and by no means affected our view overall. Canāt wait to come back.
- Margaret (8/5): spotless and it has some good design features - the parking message after booking was not helpful, there is parking on site big enough for a large SUV, removing or replacing the planter next to door with a smaller one would help. there is no on street parking available for more than 100 metres
- Johnson (10/5): We didn't want to leave so we stayed an extra night. - We loved everything about this quirky cottage, from the excellent use of space, to the decor and the high quality fixtures and fittings. It was so well equipped that we cooked tea in the cottage each night instead of going out like we normally do. Nothing but my wife would have preferred a small foldaway table to eat her tea off. She doesn't get on with those padded trays!!!
- Lesley (10/5): Cottage with gothic decor - Location was ideal for Pickering and thought out the property the decor was such a high standard with a gothic twist amazing Shower was not very powerful but decor again was amazing and intricate details in all aspects
- Nicola (10/5): Lovely space in a great location - A fantastic use of the space it had everything that we wanted. Enough room for two adults and two labs. Would definitely stay again. Shower was a little temperamental with water heat
- Gareth (8/5): Very good -
