• Sarah (8/5): Pleasant overnight stay - The design, location and layout were solid standouts with easy access to pool, bar and playground. Beautifully executed. I’m not sure if it’s just the island environment, but the room had a slight unpleasant smell at first possibly from the bathroom drains. The room rug could do with a deep clean and the milk foamer wasn’t cleaned properly and still wet with a sour odor. Some items from the continental breakfast were served (like the chia pudding) in cups that had an unpleasant odor too. The overall room cost was quite high all things considered for a short stay. Could also hear a bit of noise from outside the room but luckily we had our white noise for baby so weren’t disturbed very much.

• Chelsea (7/5): Overall, Samphire has strong foundations and beautiful facilities, but the guest experience lacks consistency in key are - Samphire Rottnest is a beautifully designed property with genuinely lovely facilities. The pool area and overall aesthetic create a relaxed, premium feel that suits the island perfectly. However, our room experience fell short. We were allocated a ground-level room overlooking a public walkway (as pictured), with limited privacy and no real outlook. Given the resort did not appear to be at capacity — and pool-facing rooms were visibly available — it was disappointing not to be offered an upgrade or alternative. Prior to arrival, I contacted the resort to organise e-bike hire and was directed to Pedal & Flipper. Unfortunately, there were no e-bikes available on arrival, which could have been better anticipated or managed by the hotel. Service overall felt inconsistent. The front desk appeared well staffed whenever we passed, yet there was little proactive engagement — including no offer to assist with dinner reservations, which you would typically expect at this level. We dined at Isola, which was a highlight. The food was exceptional — some of the best Italian we’ve had in a long time — and most of the waitstaff were excellent. However, the host experience felt somewhat transactional and lacked the polish expected at a venue of that calibre. A standout was the complimentary morning Pilates session — Ophie was fantastic and it added a thoughtful wellness element to the stay.

• Maggie (10/5): Most staff are very pleasant, really nice clean resort - The location is fantastic, bay views with a coffee from the machine in the room was a nice. One of the bar men was rude when I’d been sitting on the sand already, was served a drink in a glass (instead of plastic but I didn’t ask for this) and it blew over in the wind and smashed and when I cleaned up and took the broken glass to the bar he gave me a row for having glass on the sand rather than offering to help me clean up or give me a new drink.

The door that connects the two rooms needs to be replaced for a sound proof door …! Very uncomfortable …!!! Fortunately this problem didn’t happened on our first stay last year …! The restaurante menu requires an update with for example a seafood platter…!

Staff not particularly friendly, for 1 bedroom near 1k a night I would expect breakfast included. The beds were not very comfortable, my mum found it particularly difficult she had to see the nurse for pain killers, staff didn’t seem too bothered and their solution was put another quilt down. For 3k ,3 nights, and that kind of treatment I wouldn’t come back.
