Guest Reviews
- Peter (8/5): Fantastic value, beautiful surroundings and lovely staff. - If you love the outdoors and beautiful surroundings then this is the place for you. Glamping 101 top notch.
- Mark (7/5): A few minor changes to improve the lighting would have made the stay even better - Lovely views over fields, very quiet location and very convenient for the Goodwood Revival and the towns of Petworth & Midhurst.
The cabin was as warm as toast with the little wood burner lit.
We did say that it would have been nice to stay for a week, explore the area & to spend time (weather allowing) sitting round the fire-pit enjoying the view over the fields and watching the wildlife. Unfortunately, the hot water heater did not work on our first night, but was working on the second.
Having to scrabble around on the floor to turn the outside lights on / off was a little irritating - a little planning could easily overcome this issue.
One of the 3 lamps was faulty so it was rather lacking in light in the living area and a light in the bed area would also improve the stay.
- Niels (8/5): An authentic, warm stay in a fairytale-like natural setting. - We spent three nights with our family in Selham, UK, and had a truly lovely stay. The cottage was warm, cozy, and full of character. Emma’s artwork on the walls gave the space a personal and artistic touch. The surrounding area is green, forested, and absolutely beautiful – like something out of a fairytale, with scenic views and interesting places to explore nearby. We visited the impressive Arundel Castle in West Sussex and a Roman villa. A wonderful bonus was the outdoor pool – both we and the children really enjoyed it. Another highlight was the fire pit: we ended each evening by the fire with our boys, creating warm and memorable moments together. A perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. Highly recommended! A few practical things were a bit inconvenient: the dishes had to be done outside in the bathroom, as there was no sink inside the cottage. Also, the sofa bed was a bit firm and perhaps a little worn. That said, for a three-night stay it was perfectly fine. Overall, we had a great experience. Thank you!
- Lorraine (8/5): Very good -
- Catarina (2/5): Don't get impressed by the pictures! - Great location
The view for the fields from the bath
The fire pit... BUT Don't get impressed by the pictures! The cleaning was very bad... Sticky surfaces; Emptied package of condom on the sofa bed;
Stinky fridge; Plates and cutlery totally dirty full of grease; Corkscrew loaded with a used cork inside; Bath with hair; Field full of weed. Also, no tap for water inside the main cabin; Only cold water in the sink. Compost toilet!!!
Extremely disapointed with the conditions for the price we paid!!!! (£150 per night).
- Sam (4/5): Location was good, cost was extermely high for the standard of accommidation, far below expectations - The location suited our trip, Goodwood is close by The cabin is DIY build at best, the toilet was outside the accommodation; this was a composting toilet; the front door was secured using a combination padlock (number sent to us by email)
We arrived to a dark unlit site, had to figure out firstly where on the site the cabin was, there were no lights working (thankfully we had a good flashlight with us)
The accommodation was so far from our expectation that we laughed in disbelief
At no time were we met or contacted in person by the venue, I received a confirmation email and nothing else
- John (7/5): nice enough but probably wouldnt go back - luke warm water in the outdoor bath, hard to find staff on site
- Graham (3/5): Horrendous - Nothing !! Everything! But had nowhere else to stay. I honestly can’t believe that people have the cheek to charge £150 pounds a night, for a falling down shed, made up of odd bits of wood. My shed in my back garden is in better condition, I store paint and bikes in it, definitely wouldn’t sleep in it!! No running water in the main shed/accommodation.
The shower was outside, at 5am when you want a shower and it’s poring it down. Not very good, so didn’t shower for our following day at Goodwood, the toilet facilities the building was wet 💦 and through the holes in the walls from the rain ☔️ only cold water in the sink.
I mean I’m all up for glamping , but this for me was absolutely ridiculous, I feel I was ripped off for my money. I pay €160 for wonderful hotel on the lakeside of Como with breakfast, it’s beautiful. This was horrendous. Shocked & very disappointed, unhappy.
- Julie (10/5): Beautiful location, easy check-in, we had everything we needed. So grateful - I absolutely loved this stay and I’ll definitely be coming back. I wanted to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle and it was just perfect for that. Nothing at all.
- Chloe (8/5): beautiful and peaceful with lovely host - we saw so many animals, the farm is lovely. Emma the host was great, really communicative and helpful. generous wood allowance and good value when buying extra wood. campsite food next door was divine. the information supplied was super useful in planning our days and settling in. really relaxing and comfortable! it was somewhat difficult to cook as the non stick pans were pretty old (so not much non stick) and there was only extra Virgin olive oil to cook with. the hob was induction, not gas as described, so my own pans didn't work. resulted in lots of smoke, difficultly cooking without burning/sticking and the smoke alarm ended up going off! would recommend bringing induction ready pans and your own oil if you want to cook.
