Jan (8/5): Adore Holme- perfectly located cottage - Fantastic location. We love Holme- have been before and we wanted to go back. Perfect location on the coast- fabulous local pub with delicious food and the village is just to die for. The cottage is perfectly located and cosy and well equipped The cottage although quaint was a little tatty in places and could do with some TLC to bring it into spec. I also spent some personal time and materials cleaning some of the notoriously tricky areas as I need to feel clean myself when away from home- like the shower tiles needed some cleaning as early signs of mould from soap scum (trap also clogged with hair and dirt- substantial amounts I would say several months worth). The oven door- greasy marks over the front, the windows in the cottage all need a clean really- I just wiped hand and finger marks off where obvious and unhygienic in appearance, like the pod doors and the conservatory doors (suspected same dirty hands and fingers on both). Appreciate these things happen when you rent out your property- but suspect the owners are being let down by the cleaning company. If it was my property I would want to know it wasn’t being cleaned properly between occupants as it’s probably costing quite a lot of money for such a service- and not getting what you are paying for needs to be highlighted so action can be taken and tightened up
