- Janet (9/5): Excellent stay. -
- Janet (9/5): Lovely, peaceful - Quiet location. Difficult to open key safe in dark,
- Lee (8/5): Great thanks - The fan was a life saver. Thanks
- Read (8/5): A Winterl stay in Norfolk - The aesthetic of the carriage is beautiful, it certainly has a wonderful romantic charm evoking the age of steam while keeping things cottage cosy. The owners put lots of love into the carriage to make it a nice little stay. Would absolutely come back in the summer months! Unfortunately the Carriage doesn't hold heat very well as I stayed in the early winter during a very cold and wet weekend. There is a small electric radiator which was full the whole time and was fortunate to have the weighted blanks to keep warm throughout the night. But it was still pretty chilly, it would benefit from a small wood burner similarly found in a Narrow Boat.
- hoskin989 (10/5): Unique - Unique comfy Only a curtain between toilet and main carriageway
- Hayley (10/5): Lovely little pre Christmas break - It was close to the village centre, and very cosy No tv & poor internet connection
- David (9/5): Classy and quirky - Lovely quirky stay, could not ask for more.
Owner was great, bed comfy, clean and tidy...
Was visiting area for a wedding and took steam train (near carriage) to wroxham... definitely made my other half happy, so well worth a look. Not a case of dislike, more my own mistake... Think I was a tad too tall (6ft plus people may have to bend a little to avoid ceiling).
- Deirdre (10/5): - Everything! Location peaceful and quiet. The carriage has been fitted out to a high very standard. It was perfect with everything you needed. Private secure parking such a bonus. Two great pubs by the river both serving food is just a short stroll away. Would definitely go back such a great fun experience and the location is perfect for exploring Norfolk. Nothing.
- lee (10/5): 5 star review - Peace and quiet.
Host was excellent with communication and surprise treats for our stay. Nothing was all good, as expected.
- Stephen (9/5): Quiet and comfy hideaway - Carriage was clean and comfortable and a very quiet location. It had everything i needed for a one night stay . Decorated to a high standard. Short walk to nice riverside pubs. Welcome gifts were much appreciated. The WiFi cut out a few times but did reconnect again after a short while. It was not a major inconvenience and I don't see many reviews mention that they had the same problem.
- Terry (10/5): -
- Anne (9/5): - Beautifully converted and comfy hideaway with everything we needed. We had lovely weather so could eat outside and enjoy the comfy seating. There were a few mozzies around!
- Anthony (3/5): It was worth a 100 pounds a night - Nothing No tv no hair dryer
- Gail (10/5): - Peace and tranquility, the carriage was exceptional and spotlessly clean with everything you needed. Good walking distance to local pubs Nothing
- Alex (10/5): - We enjoyed a lovely stay for a couple of nights in the Hideaway Carriage. It’s very peaceful and quiet and the property was full of character with everything we needed for a comfortable break!
- Angela (8/5): -
- Kate (8/5): Cosy carriage - Loved pretty much everything. So Cosy, peaceful, clean and romantic/comfortable. We thought there could maybe be one of those mini ovens there so you have the ability to cook meals, but everything else was great.
- Naomi (8/5): - Super-cute, quirky hideaway carriage, with the benefit of a full-size bed and shower!
- Alex (8/5): Away from it all on a train going nowhere - Peaceful location, away from the hubbub. Sit outside the carriage in the evening with a glass of wine as dusk falls.
Three very good pubs within walking distance, one by the riverside. six minute walk to the station for the Bure Valley railway and a trip into Aylsham is well worth it. lovely restoration of an old railway carriage, a bit of history brought back for a very enjoyable stay.
Very good hosts. Communication was first class The fridge was very small and inefficient. So, not much to complain about
- Colin (9/5): Cute , quite, and lovely hosts - It was a cute little place to stay , very quiet , we both slept very well , the carriage was something a bit different than a hotel room . Nothing really
- Jake (10/5): Highly recommended - My partner and I stayed here for 1 night and it is such a beautiful place to unwind and relax. We both loved it and will definitely be back.

- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (10/5): Lovely secluded getaway - Great location, there are a few really nice pubs within walking distance. The carriage has a lovely little outside seating area. Process and shortbread was left out at a welcome gift which was so nice.

Will definitely be going back! Nice touch with the complimentaries. Good communication too, instructions very clear. Thank you Lauren x N/A
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely place. Can’t wait to return - Small and compact.
Just what we needed for a quick 2 night get away on the motorbike.
Packed light.
The facilities were spot on for our needs.
3 amazing pubs within walking distance. A cheeky bottle of Prosecco and crisps on arrival waiting for us.
Eyes masks were provided but we didn’t need them despite a couple of windows not having blinds.
Perfect break. Note to future bookers we thought the windows didn’t open they do, they open down! Just as old train windows should. It was an oversight from us - too young to have ever been lucky enough to have travelled on an old carriage like this.
We loved the place and will certainly be coming back.
- Christopher (10/5): Excellent 5☆ stay - A great find, high quality linen and furnishings. Renovated to a high standard with everything you need. Great communication from Lauren the host. A perfect place for a quiet getaway. We will definitely rebook and recommend to our friends and family. Thank you Lauren you have clearly put a lot of consideration into this little holiday home.
- Claire (10/5): Myself and my husband enjoyed our stay. The carriage was comfortable quiet and cosy. The area was lovely with restaurant - The carriage was comfortable and cosy. Quiet location pictures are exactly what you get. Great stay would definitely recommend Nothing all was great.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice. Everything you could need for a weekend getaway. Microwave and toaster plus a mini fridge. The shower was roomy with instant hot water. The bed comfy and everywhere clean. The heaters took the chill off and made the place nice and toasty. We had a fantastic stay touring the local nature reserves. Nothing
- Nicholas (10/5): Relaxing and quiet great location for a getaway - Lovely quiet little getaway compact but very cozy. Only 20 minutes from some beautiful beaches. Nothing really it was perfect for what I wanted
- Eddie (8/5): Great place, lovely owner, I will be back! - Quirky for sure but that is what I wanted! Great location! And very clean and cozy! The mattress, which I highlighting to the owner but apparently it is a new memory foam mattress which I am not used to..
- James (10/5): We will definitely be coming back :) Highly recommend - Beautiful setting, well thought out and the attention to detail was second to none.
The prosecco & alcohol free beer & mince pies were a lovely touch.
The information received from Lauren was very helpful, we took her advice & visited the Recruiting Sergant for dinner & King's Head for Breakfast. Both were amazing. Honestly only that the carriage was cold on arrival... but this was rapidly fixed when we turned on the heaters provided :) soon warmed up. Oh and didn't really effect us but no mobile network and the WiFi didn't reach the carriage, this could be fixed with a WiFi extender maybe.
We will definitely be coming back :) Highly recommend
- Linda (8/5): We enjoyed our stay in the carriage. - We bought cereal, milk and bread with us. Thankyou to the host for complimentary teas, biscuits, crisps and prosecco.
We liked the ambience of the carriage. It was cosy and warm with a comfortable bed etc. We would have liked a few more of the windows to have blinds. Also maybe bedside tables or shelves near the bed.
Maybe improve the lighting in the shower room, especially above the sink. Also If people are taller than 6ft they may have difficulty showering. Just adequate for my husband at 5ft 10ins and OK for me as I am quite small.
- Maxine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shannon (10/5): Amazing - Very cosy in there, plenty of space for us two. Great facilities. Brilliant location and lots of food places nearby. Nothing!
- Denny (9/5): Superb -
- Shaun (8/5): Overall a lovely stay,a nice surprise of wine and posh biscuits. - Lovely little hideaway, very quiet and cosy.would stay again Lack of blinds (when dressing)
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful place to stay - This was a lovely stay.
The carriage is lovely everything we needed was there. The bed is super comfy.
The owner was helpful when asking about area, taxis etc..
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (9/5): Enjoyable - Lovely village ideal location for us as had a night away from home Nothing we knew what we had booked it came up to expectations
- Lorraine (10/5): Lauren our host was really friendly and paid attention to detail - Beautiful old restored railway carriage. Nice to know the history of the carriage. All wonderful.
- Augustus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - The carriage was absolutely beautiful! It has everything you need, and Lauren is an excellent host. The extra touches were unexpected and made us feel very welcome. She was communicative and gave helpful local information. It was quiet and private. As a couple, it was a stunning sanctuary and supported a relaxing break with a super easy check-in. There was nothing we didn't like.
- Gill (9/5): We had a lovely time . Only there for two nights but would definitely go back . - It was very clean and tidy, and had all you needed for a quiet time away . Bedding , towels of a high standard and the items left for us when we arrived was a lovely touch .
- Raymond (5/5): Av - Cooked our own A fridge under work top and somewhere to put your clothes
- Kim (9/5): We had a great overnight stay before we picked up our boat for a weeks holiday on the Broads - It’s very quaint and styled perfectly for the character of the property. I can honestly say there isn’t anything we didn’t like about the property, all I would say for personal reasons a door on the bathroom rather than a curtain.
- Vanessa (9/5): A lot better than a boring hotel room lovely - Easy instructions to gain access to this lovely quirky property, very clean and extremely comfortable. Host certainly put a lot of thought into converting this railway carriage. Excellent location and very peaceful would definately recommend Nothing we didn’t like
- Chi (9/5): Superb - Lovely quiet hideaway. Comfortable bed. Curtain instead of door
- Anne (9/5): Lovely little peaceful, short break getaway. - It was very clean and tidy. It was very cosy inside and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was a good size and there were complimentary bits which we didn’t expect so that was a nice surprise. Although it was a lovely peaceful nook, we felt a small tv maybe. It is quite close to the barn and there are no blinds or curtains on the main area windows.
- Mysterysimon (5/5): Location great but many drawbacks to this unique stay - Location is ideal for proximity to the broads
Bed was very comfortable and bathroom facilities were very good and was clean. Loose tea bags and coffee in canister. Instead of being in separate envelopes. Yes was poor quality and was disgusting when used. There is no uht sachets to accompany your trees or coffee and when discussed with owner I was told she was fed up throwing milk away and didn't provide.
Lack of blinds on windows meaning you get woken up during dinner at 4am this was also discussed with owner and was dismissed. No wardrobe present 2 hangers on side of carriage and no TV provided.
- David (9/5): Great one night stay - Perfect location for our needs. Great communication. Comfortable enough for a one night stay. Very clean and well presented. More blinds/curtains for privacy. A note on the listing regards the head height inside if you're over 6ft!
